Nestled among mature trees, Fernwood offers a perfect getaway for couples, families, or groups celebrating a bachelor or bachelorette weekend. Whether you seek adventure or relaxation, our cozy log cabin provides a serene retreat surrounded by nature and wildlife.

Important Winter Travel Note:
❄️ When there is snow on the ground or expected, an all-wheel or four-wheel drive vehicle is required. The steep gravel road to the cabin is plowed and maintained, but can be challenging for two-wheel or rear-wheel drive vehicles. ❄️

2 upstairs bedrooms with comfy queen beds and crisp, clean linens

Dining area with seating for 4 and an island with seating for 3

Comfortable living room with natural light, a TV with streaming services, board games, and a record player

Full kitchen stocked with cookware, dinnerware, paper products, spices, and a drip coffee machine with coffee, major appliances and small appliances

Back deck with stunning mountain views, perfect for stargazing, sunrises, and relaxing in the hot tub

Outdoor fire pit (firewood not provided) and a large yard for games like cornhole or croquet

Satellite WiFi available — suitable for basic work or VPN connection

Please note: Streaming may be interrupted, especially on cloudy days or if the dish is covered in snow. This is the best internet service currently available, and we are awaiting county upgrades.

The property sits on a private 2 wooded acres most of your recreational area is on the back deck and in the large back yard. You will find your lounging area there with hot tub, fire pit, swing and a hammock for your day time naps.

The cabin Sleeps 4 guest but the nightly fee includes 2 guests. Additional guest are extra fee per person a night for the extra cleaning.

1. No unregistered guest. There is a fee per guest per night fee. This is to keep the nightly cost down when there is only two guests.

-If you have unregistered guests or found disrupting the peace, you are subject to immediate cancellation of your stay. We will personally (in person) ask you to leave.

2. No unregistered pets. Theres a pet fee. ALSO- NO animals on the beds or furniture including the sleeper soft its not a pet bed. Additional fees if pet stains are found after your stay.

The Accidentals of Accident MD are a friendly, smiling group of community people. Everywhere I go people are interested in hearing a story. The town is small and quaint. There are a few staple eateries in Accident and are all on the main town road.
Friendsville is close by and offers great hiking at Kendall Trail and kayaking at Bear Creek. Friendsville has cute small town with a yummy restaurant Friendsville Public House.

There is a Dollar General about 5 minutes from the property that sells firewood, groceries and bottled water.
The town has a few restaurants: Nona’s Pizza, Fire Fly ( fresh cheeses and more) The Rolling Pin.

For a fee, we offer a cleaning for longer stays. Change bed linens, clean hot tub and change out towels.

There are limited groceries stores and restaurants in Accident. Mchenry, which is 10 minutes away has more to offer. There’s a “Deep Creek Food Taxi” for hire and delivery of groceries and takeout.

The cabin includes :
Internet- there is WiFi. It is satellite and I am able to work from it. It is not the best and will drop when streaming. It has a hard time streaming a movie completely. This is the best internet offered at our home. We are waiting for the county to upgrade.
Portable air conditioning installed in June and taken out in September every year.

-If caught bringing unregistered guests, you are subject to immediate cancellation of your stay. We will personally ask you to leave.

The pets stain my white comforters and I like to have very clean liens for all my guests. There will be an extra fee for pet stains found after your stay!

4. Please clean up your pet’s waste. I have poop bags in the kitchen closet where the new trash can is.

4. Replace the hot tub cover after every use. There will be additional cleaning fees if the hot tub is left extremely dirty. (Biohazard, debris, food)

No Smokers staying at my property.

Please be respectful of our neighborhood and abide by the 10MPH speed limit.

If you have an emergency and it is after 9pm, you can call me and please call me 2 times to in a row to get through. I keep a “do not disturb” on after 9pm. This is for emergencies only. (Busted water pipe, heat not working, etc) If you need emergency services ALWAY call 911 first.

Note: Please be aware, there is a security camera that detects movement at the front door and will record 2-3 seconds clips if movement is detected and is typically muted after checking in.
