Stayed Dec 1, 2025A cozy cabin where every corner is clearly made with live and tenderness. The walk down to their dock allows you to take in the wildness of the area: seals, eagles, otters, herons and so much more. The beds are a dream, as is their super comfy couch. An added bonus is their record player and a great collection of 70/80s music. I appreciated the no wifi, this being one of the few places where you can truly disconnect.

Stayed Oct 6, 2025A very cozy/picturesque cabin, right off the water! The cabin was clean and comfortable during our stay. Enjoyed the record player and games. Loved the large bathtub and loft lounging for ultimate relaxation. The view is awesome and we even watched some sea otters. We travelled with a young one - id love come back with just my partner one day or for a girls weekend, as we had to keep an eye on her at all times inside and outside. We also would really encourage folks to consider the hill down to the cabin if you dont have a 4x4 vehicle, as forewarned by the host. It is quite steep and longer than we anticipated (and we consider ourselves athletes who are in good shape and train year round). The hill is tough and may not be possible for some people to do if their health does not allow. It was especially tough for packing and unpacking- but for us, we have to acknowledge that we had more gear to bring for kiddo, and i had to carry her on my back when we did our trips to/from the cabin to the car as she can't be alone on the property, nor can walk all the way up the hill.Otherwise, a wonderful stay! Would come back again with adults and a better vehicle.

Stayed Jun 8, 2025The property surrounding the actual cottage was densely populated with tall pines and cedars. The driveway is very challenging to acces the cottage itself. Thru the dry season one must carefully drive down to cottage and signage advises 4 wheel drive vehicles after the midway point. Our vehicle had 4 wheel drive and made the rest if the driveway fairly manageable. Once at the cottage the access had well built stairs, however, people with walking mobilities could find the stairsDifficult to go down and up. Once on the patio though the the view of the bay is fantastic. The cottage also is very nicely decorated and comfortableWe stayed 2 nights and very much enjoyed it.

Stayed Apr 11, 2025Quaint little cabin on Pender in the side of a cliff. Beautiful views, quiet and full of nature. Comfortable, lots of windows!! Strongly recommend you are aware of accessibility issues if renting this space. You need a 4x4 to get onto the property. I would NOT bring children or seniors. The bathroom is an odd situation with only access via main floor bedroom so could make for some uncomfortable situations Pender is a lovely spot!! Be sure to go to the Vanilla bakery and the Copper Otter pub.

Stayed Feb 22, 2025We were looking for private accommodations, near or on the water, away from roads so we would not hear the sounds of cars. We wanted to feel like we were getting away from it all for a nice relaxing reset and spending quality time together.Although it is a 'rustic & quaint' cabin, it is super comfy with the big oversized couch, double soaker tub and quality queen mattress. Its thoughtfully and tastefully decorated, and has lots of games, dvds and videos. (but no wifi). The place oozes relaxation and I kept commenting on how much I liked it to my partner during the stay. This was a midwinter trip and I was worried we would have to work to keep the wood stove heat going, but the cabin also has a heat pump and electric baseboard and we were warm all 3 nights. The power did surge on and off during a wind storm but the hosts have supplies for this situation outlined in their manual and we felt safe and warm with the stove. The adorable steovetop/oven is fuelled by propane so we knew we would be able to keep nourished too. We were surrounded by eagles in nearby trees and enjoyed walking the ocean edge. The bay is so still in the morning we felt like we were on a lake. We loved the locals we met at the farmers market, and the vibe of the island and hope to come back and stay again in warmer months. On top of all the loveliness of the location, cabin and amenities, the hosts communication was top notch. What to bring: bluetooth speaker, slippers, ground coffee, bubblebath

Stayed Feb 18, 2025This is a wonderful, quiet, rustic place to get away but a few things to note:Description of steep driveway was accurate. However, the gravel driveway is about 200M long and probably drops 45M in elevation so carrying suitcases and supplies down to the cabin from the top (or worse, back up) would be extremely challenging for fit, able-bodied people and almost impossible for seniors or physically challenged individuals. Yes, 4X4 vehicle is a MUST for access to the cabin. We found there was no 'wagon' for hauling supplies but I don't think that would have made any difference. We discovered that there is an extra charge of 40/bag for not hauling away your own garbage. This should really be noted in the description as nobody likes surprises. There is no wi-fi but cell service is pretty good in places.TV works with VHS and DVD's but we couldn't seem to get live TV without a subscription.Setting is spectacular, right above the shoreline. Not sure how you get sunsets though, cabin faces NE.
