Rustic guest cabin set in the high country between Telluride and Ridgway

The absolute best and most beautiful place to stay. It was clean, cozy and perfect for a mountain retreat weekend. The hosts are so kind and friendly that I will book here for every trip in Telluride. I cannot recommend this place enough!!

This cabin is perfection if you’re looking for comfort and tranquillity. The setting is picturesque in the woods with a lovely deck to watch sunset on. There were plenty of linens, nice bedding, and such cute thoughtful touches such as towels by the front door if you have a dog! Would love to come back here and stay next time I’m in the area. The hosts are just lovely, kind, friendly people. Great spot!

Great location that was surrounded by trees and mountain views! It was a secluded area with no traffic noise. Charming little cabin that had everything we needed. The hosts live on sight and we're very welcoming. They knew a lot about the area which helped us in planning our activities. Definitely recommend! A

What a perfect place to stay in the San Juans! It is situated between Ridgway and Telluride, with Ouray nearby as well, so mountain exploration possibilities are endless. The location of the bunkhouse is beautiful and although it's in the same driveway as the main house, it still maintains its privacy, especially with the deck. Also, the kindness of the folks living in the main house is unparalleled, so we could not recommend this stay enough!

UNDERRATED! The pictures don't do it justice at all. The view was spectacular. We met the host and she was very sweet, giving us more firewood for the cold, cozy nights.

Hosts are friendly and very helpful! Let us know of all the different ways we could get around since a road near by was going to be closed for maintenance. We appreciated all of their help! Great location! Peaceful area! Comfy cabin with a wood stove. We always enjoy are stay there. Even saw a small herd of elk walk by the back deck while eating dinner!

Convenient, cozy, relaxing!

The Bunkhouse is a hidden gem that I can’t recommend enough. It’s scenic, serene, and the perfect place to stay in between Telluride and Ouray. The surrounding neighborhood is beautiful with the fall foliage, and right off the Last Dollar Road, which has some of the best fall colors. I loved my stay at this cozy cabin, and plan on coming back!

The cabin was great! Beautiful drive in, and the dogs loved romping in the outdoors. Plus, the hosts were incredibly gracious and welcoming. They even stayed up with the lights on when we were getting in late our first night!

We enjoyed our visit so much! Marianne was so hospitable from beginning to end, even leaving us a personalized welcome note. She was extremely helpful in helping us decide how to plan our time there because she is very well-informed about the area. The cabin is adorable and homey, with great little touches in the decorating and theme matching the area. It was a pleasure and I will enjoy going back!

I cannot recommend this BunkHouse enough. It was the perfect little place for us to stay in while visiting Telluride and Ouray. It is very affordable and peaceful compared to staying in town, and hosts Marianne & Larry went out of their way to make us feel so welcomed and relaxed while staying in their Bunkhouse. It was very reassuring knowing that our hosts were so responsive, friendly, and caring about their property and guests. The bunkhouse was stocked with everything we needed to cook a few meals and had a beautiful deck to sit on and enjoy our evening drinks and morning coffee. We will certainly be staying here again if we find ourselves in the area again and will be telling all of our friends and family to stay here as well.

The property is beautiful. The location is remote which is nice but it’s a little farther from Telluride than we thought. Our hosts are very nice the remembrance of our stay was a lovely touch.

We had an amazing time at the Bunkhouse! Cozy fires, breakfast and dinner on the deck overlooking the mountain, warm welcome by the hosts - and that does not really capture the magic of this place!

The deck was a nice place to have coffee in the morning or watch the sunset in the evening. The Bunkhouse is in a quiet location but an easy drive to Telluride and area hiking. The hosts were the best!

My wife and I stayed at the Bunkhouse this weekend during a trip for our 6th anniversary. This cabin is nothing short of beautiful. Marianne and Larry were the nicest hosts and definitely put in the extra effort to make the stay comfortable and special. The cabin was super clean and has an awesome view off the back patio. Will definitely stay at the place again in the future.

It's lovely and secluded. Plenty of room. A deck out back for watching the stars at night. Sweet host and hostess. A great jump-off point for hikes in the stunning San Juans.

This VRBO is awesome!! The best VRBO we have ever stayed at (and we stay at quite a few). If we could give it 100 stars, we would. Close to Telluride, Ridgeway and Ouray, but in the mountains away from all of the congestion. The bunkhouse is beautiful and comes with everything needed (the bed is super comfy). We sat on the back deck and enjoyed watching the deer, wildlife and night stars, and hiked the property. Hosts Marianne and Larry are wonderful and made sure we had everything needed for a perfect trip. Thank you so much Marianne and Larry for a wonderful stay :) We hope to be back soon!

We stayed in The Bunkhouse in Piney Woods for 4 nights. Larry and Marianne are exemplary hosts and are very kind and welcoming. The Bunkhouse is cozy and comfortable and has a beautiful view. We would love to stay again.

This is one of the few rentals I have had that really lived up to the past great reviews! Quiet, out of the way location (but easy to access), beautiful scenery, on-site welcoming and helpful hosts, accommodations nicely decorated (loved the birdhouses!) and clean and neat. Sparkling clean and completely furnished with anything you need The Bunkhouse was delightful. The views of sunsets rewarding. But, more than anything, the hosts went above and beyond to make my stay gratifying.
