was absolutely beautiful. I wanted to be secluded and away from the world and that’s exactly what this place gave me. It has a beautiful history and the place is absolutely breathtaking the mountains are gorgeous and the hot tub was perfect. The drive up is a little scary in a car (I was in a Nissan Sentra) and had no issues though but going down is a lot easier lol. It’s a beautiful place I loved it hope to stay again.

We loved the view of the sunset and rises, that would be the best part of our stay at the cabin. The cabin itself was cozy, kitchen stocked with cooking utensils, and the hot tub was a nice add on. However directions could have been better, commutation as well i recvied one email with information about how to enter the cabin and a address; but wasnt informed the ride might require a 4x4 vehicle. Also the GPS doesn't recognize the pathed road so we had a hard time using a small gravel road that was unnecessary to take. But now that we have been and stayed we are happy that we picked Mammy's Cabin for our stay. The waterfalls were beautiful, little restaurants were delicious and thd peace and quiet was much needed.

Wife and I wanted to get away for a few days in the mountains for some fresh air and cooler weather. We brought our two dogs with us (very dog friendly here) and they loved running around and were very comfortable inside with plenty of room for their crates. We found this cozy cabin in Franklin and glad we did. We loved the history of the place provided by the owners, as well as all the amenities...kitchen well stocked, entertainment, linens fresh and clean, fireplace with plenty of firewood provided, lovely views and a nice, clean hot tub overlooking those beautiful views. The drive up is a bit adventurous, I believe the cabin is about 4,000 ft up. We had a rear wheel, full sized F150 which at some points felt a bit large, but having it in1st gear on the gravel parts of the road we did just fine. I would say that a crossover or mid-sized SUV with all wheel drive would be perfect. We didn't travel up or down in the dark but once we made the trip once we probably would had felt okay since the weather was fine. At night in rain or snow...may have been a bit hesitant though.Overall, the cabin is very cozy and and in very nice shape for an older property and we highly recommend it for those wanting to just get away for a few days to relax, go on walks, antiquing, spending time downtown. Only critique would be to get better Wi-Fi (very slow) but there's good cellular there and satellite TV provided so it wasn't really a factor for us.

The hot tub is definitely clean & hygienic. The cabin comes with everything you need to be comfortable, even if you forget a little something. Most of the pictures are accurate but the view pictures should be updated as all the trees have grown up so much, that the view they advertise is mostly blocked, it is still a pretty view. The cabin itself pictures are acurate & we definitely enjoyed our stay.

This is an amazing secluded, private getaway. The veiws are wonderful, and it is the perfect rustic romantic cabin experience. The only thing I advise is if you have an android phone, google maps will take you in on a more windy, steep gravel road. Take Ledford branch left around the sharp curve by the mailboxes, its paved further. The gravel past this point is fine and well maintained. I made it in a FWD SUV.

We chose this spot to escape the late July heat in south Georgia, and it did not disappoint! The cabin has great air circulation and AC if needed. We dined out on the deck, took long walks with the dog down and back up the steep mountain road, and hiked on trails near Franklin. The Lazy Hiker Brewing Company is a cool place to raise a pint.

Cabin is cute and view is great. That being said streaming kept buffering or would go completely out. Satellite didn’t work as instruction’s stated. Internet was one bar awful.I can see why there are so many dvds. Hot tub jets were not the best. A warning about the gravel road and how high and twisty it is would be nice. Our tires skidded more than once with rain. Scarey! Called and emailed owners about satellite tv never got a response. Not Tons to Do in area either. Did find some good restaurants in Franklin. Beds are comfy and lots of towels and blankets.

Enjoyed “Mammy’s” cabin outside of Franklin, NC. Cabin is well equipped and really enjoyed hot tub after long drive from Florida. Great location just be prepared for bit of drive up the mountain (some gravel narrow roads) and is probably 20 minute drive fro Franklin. Took a day to drive to Highlands and Rosman, beautiful drive on 64.Great views and very peaceful, will come back again!

My husband I and I stayed here for our honeymoon and had the BEST trip! There were notes all over the cabin for use of heat/air conditioning, extra towels/pillows, and instructions on using the fire place. Everything was clean, neat and easy to use. The morning and night views were always amazing. The back porch is what faces the sunrise so watching the birds at the bird feeder in the morning in rocking chairs was so nice. Can not brag enough about how amazing our stay was at Mammy’s cabin.

The view is just as described-absolutely beautiful. It is very serene and you feel like you're alone up on the mountain. The hot tub was a great place to end our evenings. The drive is just as others described...treacherous. I wouldn't try it without 4-wheel drive. Communication with host was great! If you are a larger person, you may not be able to get up the winding stairwell to go to the upstairs loft - FYI!

If you want something remote, peaceful, quiet, surrounded by nature - this is it!! Exactly what we were looking for. I will say - Wifi did not work at all and service was spotty...and if you're trying to go out every day and do things, it is a 25+ min drive down the mountain just to reach normal roads. We stayed a full week and only went down twice, really enjoyed the quiet time in the cabin. It has everything you need. Hot tub with the view was awesome! Fireplace was amazing. We did all our grocery shopping first day and cooked there. Lots of blankets and pillows, chopped firewood, kitchen utensils, ice trays. Thank you for a wonderful week.

The cabin is at the TOP of a mountain so the view is fabulous. Great sunrise and gorgeous leaf colors surround the cabin and the drive up to it.. Nicely furnished with period antiques. It is cozy so look at the total square feet and make sure this is right for you. Very nice host and Franklin and surrounding area are fun to explore.

They did a good job instructing where everything was and how to use it. They had a binder full of interesting history about the cabin that we enjoyed. The road is very well kept up with to get to the top of the mountain. The fire place and supplied wood was wonderful. The kids loved having a fire each evening.

This rental is amazing! From its rustic charm to its wonderful history shared through pictures, articles and a summary written by the owner, you will be immersed in its authenticity! The sunrises from the hot tub, the birds swarming the bird feeders on the deck, the incredible Cracker Barrel decor, and the wonderful winding road to the top of the mountain are all just icing on the cake. We very much enjoyed our stay in this cabin! Linens were nice and well stocked. There were plenty of towels which was appreciated, especially with the hot tub. The weather was mild while we were here, but there were multiple fans and space heaters in addition to the regular heating and air. I think temperature regulation would be easy! The hot tub was clean and enjoyable. The fire place was a bonus that we didn’t expect to use, but it made for such cozy evenings. Wood and kindling was well stocked. The house felt incredibly private. The deck and the hot tub were very private. The road getting up the mountain is a bit scary. I was a bit uncomfortable with the narrow, gravel road but my husband said it was fine. I would have preferred an AWD vehicle, but our Toyota Camry handled it okay. We did not experience any rain or inclement weather during our stay. I don’t know how the road is in other conditions. The main bed is very firm. It was fine for us, but may not be to everyone’s liking. I would definitely stay again! This was such a great space for us to enjoy an anniversary weekend!

I cannot say enough about this little cabin! It is so peaceful and cozy. You have everything you need and even little notes to explain things you might not know. The cabin is small but just enough room. This history is very interesting as well. There is much to see in the area. I love waterfalls so this was the perfect place to find them. So many in the vicinity to see. Highlands is a nice little town not too far. Take the advice of the other reviews and arrive before dark. The road up to the cabin is not that bad but I wouldn't want to do it at night, at least the first time. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I love Mammy's and look forward to a time where I will go back!
