Stayed Oct 13, 2023Located in the high country of Colorado (8600 feet high), Lake City is a hidden gem...surrounded by the San Juan Mountains, Rocky Top cabins are mountain cabins personified. Very beautifully built and furnished. You have to remember though there's no laundry and you have to wash & dry your dishes yourself. It was so quiet! Even though we were by Hwy 149/Gunnison Ave. We had visitorstwo mornings: a herd of 7 deer wandered through the front yard nibbling on the dead geraniums hanging on the front porch. The people at the Country Store a short distance away were so nice. I've heard it said Hinsdale County is the most remote county in the lower 48. Love it! Okay , I have to say something negative...the bed was very uncomfortable.

Stayed Sep 30, 2023Great location. Missing dish towels, but owner responded quickly. Kitchen had everything we needed. Wish there was a dishwasher and hair dryer. Overall, great stay.
