Stayed Oct 20, 2025If I could give 4.5 stars, I would. The views and the property are the absolute highlights here — rolling green hills, peaceful mountain air, and a sense of calm that’s hard to find elsewhere. The land itself is truly beautiful. We stayed in Ridge Top, the lower cabin. The king bed is very comfortable, and the large covered patio became our favorite place to relax. The cabin is small and has a lot of furniture, but workable overall. However, guests should be aware of several issues:Flies: With a cow pasture 20 feet away and no window screens, flies come inside constantly. Bring a fly swatter.Black widow spider: We found one in our bed. Mountain living comes with critters, but it’s important to note.Cleaning needs improvement:Dead flies packed in the window sillsWindows extremely dirtyLeftover half-used items from previous guestsNo place to unpack because the closet is full of cabin suppliesHot water is limited, running out quickly and taking a long time to reheat.Checkout-day issue: A roofing crew arrived early. I understand things happen, but better communication would have prevented the disruption.Dog-friendly? Absolutely. Traveling with three dogs, we felt completely welcome.Bottom line: The property is gorgeous, peaceful, and unique, and Wendy, the property manager, is responsive and kind. Despite some preventable issues, we would stay again — with small improvements, this could easily be a 5-star experience.

Stayed Jul 1, 2025The location for Ridgetop Escape was wonderful, and Sarah, the property manager was excellent in communicating with us. Now for the surprises. The size of the cabin was small, which was not a problem; the issue was oversized furniture made it difficult to move around comfortably and store luggage. The chair could have been removed, and instead of a bed/sofa, a sleeper sofa could have been used. The coffee table could have been smaller, as well. By doing this, there would be room to move about. A queen mattress and removing the detached headboard would also allow more room in the bedroom. The oven and refrigerator did not work well, and both need replacing. The lowlight of the surprises was the bedbugs. We had to relocate, and as I stated before, Sarah did a wonderful job in understanding our situation.
