Seward, Alaska
Borealis Cabin is close to Lost Lake Trailhead and family-friendly activities. A hidden gem just three miles outside of Seward city limits. You’ll love it because of the high ceilings, the kitchen, the open floor plan, the comfy beds, and the coziness. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families.
This beautiful little loft cabin is nestled just off of a dirt road in the mountains about three miles outside of Seward city limits.
There is a full kitchen with a stove, microwave, refrigerator, and coffee pot. We offer a wireless sound system, complementary wifi and a 40" smart TV. The cabin also includes a Bar-B-Q grill on the back porch for outdoor grilling and a fire-pit for roasting marshmallows and telling ghost stories. Please bring your own firewood for the fire pit and charcoal for grilling.
The cabin sleeps 3-6 in three queen sized beds. Be advised that two of the beds are located in the loft of the cabin. In order to access the loft one must climb a ladder like staircase. The third bed is on the first floor for those guests who are squeamish about heights. There are three queen beds in all. We ask that the host provide an accurate guest count at booking so that we may provide the appropriate amenities for each guest. Unfortunately, we can not host parties larger than 6 and pets are not allowed on the property.
The cabin is one of two identical cabins on our property. Your neighbor is also a guest of ours. Please be respectful of their stay by keeping late night noises to a minimum.
**Please note that the fire pit is subject to availability in winter months due to possibility of heavy snow.
We are located just off the Seward Hwy on a dirt road that is well maintained by the city of Seward during all four seasons.
There is private parking available for up to three vehicles next to your cabin. You are welcome to park a snow-machine trailer or small boat, but doing so will count as one of the three vehicles. Please allow plenty of room for the guests staying in the cabin next to yours to park and exit the driveway at all times. No RV parking or tent camping on the property.
The cabin is located just 1/4 mile from the Lost Lake Trailhead! Cross-country skiing, biking, and hiking is allowed on the shoulder of the road. Snow-machining to the trailhead from the cabin is also permitted. **Please note, there is not a private off-road trail from the cabin for skiing, hiking, biking, or snow-machining to the trailhead.
Other things to note;
SECURITY SYSTEM
The cabin has an active “Ring Doorbell” for securing the safety of our guests and property. The system is located to the left of the front door under the porch light and provides the owners a view of the front porch and driveway with audio.
EARLY CHECK-IN
Due to increased cleaning protocols we are unable to promise checkin times before 4:00 pm. Request for an early check-in must be communicated with the host through direct message only. Upon request, we are happy to let you know as soon as your cabin is ready on the day of your arrival.
CRIB/HIGHCHAIR REQUEST
If you would like to make use of our travel crib or highchair please request it before you arrive so that we can make sure it is in the cabin at check-in. Storage in the cabin is limited so we keep these items off site until needed.
WATER USAGE:
Your cabin uses a private well and septic system. Please conserve water whenever possible and never flush anything other than toilet paper.
We liked that it felt very relaxing and cozy place to stay after hours of hiking .
This is what i really expected as a little getaway cabin. It's got great location, it feels like home, and it had everything we could have needed. Very happy campers.
The cabin was AMAZING. The location is a short drive outside of downtown. It is tucked into an adorable wooded area that makes you feel like you're roughing it. The cabin itself was in perfect condition. The place was spotless, dishes were clean and chip free, coffee maker was clean and grime free, and bathroom was spotless as well. There is also a little cleaning closet there in the cabin with everything you would need to keep it clean during your stay (I have two young boys and they can make a mess in record time). Meegan was beyond helpful, and even brought over fresh eggs. Which honestly was the highlight of my husbands stay. He loves eggs lol We had to leave early due to bad weather, but while there it was amazing. The kitchen is fully stocked and had coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, and powdered creamer ready to go. They even had a great selection of teas, and! A tea kettle! I am not sure if you can tell, but it was a great experience and if we had a chance to take a vaction again before we move out of Homer we would stay here in a heart beat. Would highly recommend.
It was fantastic. The upper loft would not be a good choice for someone who needs to regularly use the bathroom facilities but for us is was perfect. Thank you.
We had a brief stay but overall it was great!! Very clean, quiet, easy check in/out, comfy beds, and the best location.
Perfect place for your Seward visit.
Wonderful cabin that was clean and organized. Had everything that was needed for our family of six. Outstanding location just up the road from Seward.
The cabin was just right for our group. We cooked breakfast each day and a nice dinner (fresh fish we caught) the fire pit is a great outdoor hangout. too! Great spot! We'd stay again!
Wonderful first stop on our adventures around Alaska. Meegan is an excellent host with an eye for detail. The accommodations included everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The loft is surprisingly spacious giving four adults the privacy needed. Fresh eggs from the host’s chickens were an added surprise! Enjoyed this location for the Seward/Homer leg of our journey.
Contact with the owner was super easy. When we got there a cute little igloo was out front. When you walk in it gives you a home vibe to it. When it gets warm and we can stay longer definitely going to look into staying here again.
