Is this cabin for everyone — Not exactly… We want to be clear that this is a small cabin that was meant to be used as a rustic retreat. We know that not everyone digs an outhouse.

Is there Wifi or cell network service — There is some cell signal however guests can use the high speed internet for wifi calling.

What is a dry cabin — This means that though there is electricity, this cabin does not have plumbing. We provide drinking water and have rain barrels in summer months for collecting wash water.

What is your bathroom situation — We have an outhouse just next to the cabin.

For showering, many guests us the sauna on site which is stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash and essential oils. Otherwise guests can consider visiting the Grand Marais Rec park for a $4 shower, Sauna at Sisu & Loli in town, or buy a $10 day-pass to the Grand Marais YMCA to take advantage of the gym, workout facility, showers, hot tub, sauna, and pool.

Do you have a coffee maker — We have a large coffee maker upstairs and a small coffee maker downstairs as well as a pour over with filters for your use.

Do you have a grill or fire pit — Yes, May through Oct. We have a charcoale grill. We supply the utensils, but guests will need to bring charcoal and lighter fluid. There is a fire pit. Guests are free to use fire pit year round but are responsible for snow removal to use it if they wish to do so.

If your dog is likely to bark excessively or cause damage, we request that you leave them at home to help us continue offering dog-friendly accommodations. The credit card used for the reservation will be charged for any damages. If your dog exhibits excessive barking, disruptive behavior, we may ask you to leave without a refund and will not be allowed for future reservations.

* Ensure your dog is included in the reservation and that the pet fee is paid before arrival. Bringing a dog that is not listed on your reservation will result in a $250 fine in addition to the nightly pet rate.

* We’re pet friendly but also cleaner friendly! If cleaners have to clean pet waste, rid of strong odors or stains are left behind requiring an excessive amount of time, we will compensate them for their time at your expense.

Regarding Service Dogs and Emotional Support Animals: Emotional Support Animals differ from trained and registered service animals. Emotional Support Animals must comply with our pet rules and the pet fee must be paid. Service dogs are welcome without an additional fee. You will be asked two questions permitted by the ADA:

1. Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability
2. What work or task has the dog been trained to perform
Service animals must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered unless these devices interfere with the animal’s work or the disability prevents their use. In such cases, the animal must be under control through voice, signal, or other effective means and never left alone.

If a pet is misrepresented as a service animal, we may seek financial restitution, report fraudulent claims, and evict the guest without further notice, with no refund for the remaining stay.

It's a really cool spot back in the woods but close to a lot of parks and Grand Marais. The roads are gravel, but pretty well graded. It has good power and lots of cozy additions like throw blankets, nice chairs, a great fire pit, and a really cool upper deck to have breakfast on. We didn't use the grill, but there is one there. The sauna is pretty nice. It's close to the house, but far enough away that you have privacy while sharing it with the other cabin. The sled dogs and wolves howl a lot at night, which is pretty cool, but may spook your dogs or your kids. Our dog was spooked at first, but quickly realized he was totally safe by the fire. The lack of running water and outhouse situation can be a little rough at night when you just need to pee, but the outhouse was pretty clean and easy to walk to, even in the dark. It does smell pretty bad though, so be ready for that when you go in. That's literally the only rough camping part of it, everything else is absolutely beautiful and really peaceful and relaxing. We had a great time and the host were really nice and thoughtful.

The only downside was not having a shower and a sink with running water, which made washing dishes and food a bit tricky. But overall, the cabin is cozy and tastefully done, with a nice deck, sauna, and beautiful wilderness all around. A solid 7 stars out of 5 — we had a great stay!

Had a great two day stay for our anniversary. Spoiled to take a wonderful sauna after a day of hiking. This is the second property we’ve tried from this owner. So far have loved them both!

The cabin was so great for me, my partner, and our dog. It had very nice living and sleeping spaces with everything you may need for cooking and cleaning essentials. They even had a treat basket for our dog! Little to say, this was a relaxing getaway where you can disconnect and enjoy the north shore.

Its somewhere I could definitely live. Small, cozy, rustic but modern at the same time. Would need running water, however. But for a weekend get-a-way... it was wonderful! Would def recommend.
