Stayed Dec 20, 2025This cabin was perfect for our holiday getaway this winter! It was easy to get to and checking in was a breeze. The cabin had everything we needed. The fireplace made our evenings extra cozy. We dined at a few local restaurants in Wilmington and spent a day in Lake Placid. The location of the cabin was very convenient. Andrew and Lacey are great hosts! We can’t wait to come back!

Stayed Nov 20, 2025We have been coming to the Adirondacks for 5 years now. We've stayed in various cabins/homes and camped - this was our favorite stay so far! The property was clean and didn't feel like a rental, it felt like a home. The hot tub, fireplace, and comfy bed were all so cozy and relaxing. Being able to bring our dog along is so special as well. My only advice to people staying in the future is to turn up the thermostats as soon as you get there! It took a little while for the home to be comfortably warm, but once it heated up it was great!

Stayed Sep 22, 2025We enjoyed our stay at Andrew and Laceys. Although we brought our dog 's bed, they had a crate for him too. We just put his bed in the crate as he loves sleeping there. We are senior citizens and it was a little confusing on how to work the tv. Eventually, we got stations in. Maybe a more detailed note would have helped. Andrew and Lacey were ready to help. Hot tub was an added plus. It helped my back. We would love to come back if health and time allows.

Stayed Aug 14, 2025Andrew was super responsive and extremely helpful. After reserving on VRBO I got email/text from Evolve telling me to download their app and use for my stay - this gave me a weird vibe and if you read VRBO closely, you know that all communication should be through their app. When I did email Evolve my concerns, I got an auto-generated response which did not address my concerns. I blocked them and went directly to Andrew. The property worked out for our stay - including our dog. There are a few things that could be addressed and I let Andrew know about those, including the gutters that were overflowing right at the doorway entrance. The stove and oven could use some TLC - we made breakfast and dinner almost daily for our 8 days and used both. Not having a dishwasher was a bit of a drag. The kitchen is a bit tight as is the bathroom, save the shower. The main bedroom bed was absolutely perfect. Overall this worked well for us - like most, we spent more time out on our adventures than at the house.

Stayed May 20, 2025Perfect couples' getaway! The weather wasn't ideal, but the hot tub and fireplace definitely came in handy after some cold muddy hikes. Great location and very well-equipped house, expect we would return the next time we visit!

Stayed Mar 6, 2025We had a great stay in early March. Access to Lake Placid is quick and easy, but most essentials (food, fuel, etc) are right nearby. The cottage had everything we needed in terms of space and accessories. Rustic overall, but the bathroom is fresh and modern. The gas fireplace keeps the living room warm and inviting. The kitchen is small but functional with a nice large sink. The main bedroom (we didn’t use the second) is very comfortable.Yes, the hot tub can be partly seen from the street, but not so much that it feels invasive. It’s well-maintained and easy to operate.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Red Loj and did not want to leave! First, the place. This house had the perfect amount of space for two adults and a dog, but also had plenty more as there was a bedroom suitable for children or another adult that we did not even use! This place is very cozy. The living room had plenty of seating and the tech is all very up-to-date (tvs, internet, sound system, all the bells and whistles)! The kitchen is fully stocked with all appliances needed to cook and even had the cutest coffee bar that we used daily! Oh, and the shower! Many times when you stay away from home you run into the problem of water pressure, but that was a non issue here! The pressure was great. The bed was huge and the mattress was really comfortable. I slept better than I do at home! The cherry on top was the hot tub after a long day of hiking!Next, the location. The Red Loj was about 22 minutes from Lake Placid, but the drive into town and back is the most scenic, stunning route I have ever taken. Absolutely breathtaking. Also, if you are there for nature, there are so many awesome hikes along the route! If you are there to look at Whiteface Mountain, you can do that from Lake Placid, but if you want to play on it then Wilmington is for you! I cannot say enough, how much we enjoyed staying here. It’s the perfect place if you want to explore the town or if you want to ski, hike, and adventure! If we ever are back in the area we will 10/10 be looking to stay at the Red Loj. The hosts were also wonderful and there for your every need! They were truly a big part in making our experience so great! They have thought of everything for both convenience and comfort when making this home!

It was very cozy and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable, a great bed, amazing shower, nice deck and grill surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers and a luxurious hot tub. All the modern convenience with TVs, ports and electronics. Well appointed and close to many activities, restaurants and the mountain.

Stayed Aug 8, 2024This was a beautiful and comfortable cabin. I was there for a solo vacation and enjoyed having a lot of space to myself. The kitchen had the dishes and appliances I needed, the bed was comfortable, the a/c kept the place at a cool temp, the bathroom had a great shower, I loved having the washer/dryer easily accessible, and the hot tub was a treat! One note for future renters: it is “rustic” in the sense that there was evidence each morning of mice having been in the kitchen overnight.
