Peaceful Cabin Retreat w/ Fishing Pond, near Folk School. WiFi, Pet Friendly!

This was our third stay at the Mountain Laurel Cabin, and it never disappoints. Tucked away in peaceful Brasstown, the cabin is cozy, spotless, and perfectly equipped with all you need in the woods. The private acre-sized pond is a dream for fishing or just soaking in the quiet. We love its proximity to the Folk School and scenic trails. A true hidden gem for nature lovers and anyone needing a recharge. We'll definitely be back!

We have stayed in many cabins in North Georgia and NC. This one was the best. Clean, beautiful, relaxing, comfortable. We loved the pond and fire pit. I caught and released five large catfish, although I think one was the same stupid fish. Gorgeous colors in October.

The cabin was VERY cozy with all of the things we needed provided. The only complaint we have is no door on the upstairs bedroom.

The property is welcoming to pets. I am a repeat customer and I stay here while at John Campbell folk school for classes. Wonderful property and wonderful property managers.

The cabin was lovely and hosts were exceptional! We had everything we needed for our stay and loved the setting and especially fishing at the dock. We will definitely visit again!

This was by far the most well kept VRBO I have stayed at. You can tell the owners take pride the cabin and grounds! The cabin was well stocked, items labeled and instructions clear. The cabin was clean from baseboards to ceiling fans. Very impressed.

Another excellent vacation stay at this cabin. A great place to unwind and de-stress from a busy year.

Everything was perfect! From the host down to every detail. Everyone there was kind and willing to help with redirection. We had everything we needed at the Cabin as well from towels to kitchenware. We really appreciate everything the host prepared for us and will definitely be going back for another trip! 10/10

Great communication

The cabin is absolutely wonderful-- everything we could have hoped for. Fully equipped for cooking which we did on a few days with easy access to great restaurants which we also enjoyed.It's also an amazing location for excursions to hiking trails in any direction. Every day we'd made it back by about sunset and then just enjoyed movies by the fireplace or sat out by the fire pit in pure peaceful bliss.Everything was nicely labeled, easy to find, and spotless. Would absolutely go here again.

The cabin was very cozy and beautifully decorated. It is in a very peaceful setting and convenient to many area attractions. The bathrooms and kitchen were equipped to the max. Would definitely recommend Mountain Laurel Cabin to family and friends!

We enjoyed the fireplace inside and out. My husband had fun doing a little fishing. The cabin was comfortable inside and out. We were there only a couple of days, but throughly enjoyed it.

The cabin was private, and quiet. Also well thought-out, very livable and comfortable for guests. The location, and setting is beautiful and the property is well maintained. The hosts were available for questions, and very accommodating. Our stay was very enjoyable and relaxing. We will come back!

Everything we needed was provided. The cabin was very cozy, and we really enjoyed our stay. The property is immaculate, and beautiful. We fished in the pond daily. It is very well stocked with bluegill, sunfish, and a lot of smallmouth as well as various other bass. I was visited by deer every morning on the pond as well. It is very peaceful and the back porch is perfect for morning coffee, breakfast, and dinners. Showers have great water pressure and a very large hot water tank. Light switches were all labeled which was a huge help! We loved this cabin.

My husband and I along with another couple just returned home from a week at the cabin. It was exactly as presented online. Even though we had rain almost every night and some days, we loved sitting on the front porch and the enclosed porch listening to the rain. We cooked in everyday, and had everything we needed. We were able to have a fire on the night before we left, and it was wonderful! The cabin was cozy and very clean. Check in and check out were a breeze and communication with the owners was great! We would all highly recommend this rental.

Great stay at the cabin in the woods. Fantastic fire ring outside surrounded by lush trees and outdoor lighting and covered split wood storage. We had fun tossing corn hole and fishing in the small pond at the bottom of the cabin. Cabin was perfect, small and quaint. Close to Lake Chatooge and town...

This property is by far the best cabin we’ve stayed in, and we’ve stayed in a lot. Super close to everything 15 min to Ingles and Walmart. The pond is beautiful my sons fished with all the spare time we had lol. Very easy to get to, beds all really comfortable, they have literally everything you can think of if you forgot something they have it. Very well run property will definitely be back again.

We loved this cabin! It was beautiful, peaceful, and overall perfect for our family. A plus for us is it's pet friendly!

Mountain Laurel Cabin is a little piece of heaven. When you open the door you are so happy you chose this cabin. The cabin is simply beautiful and tastefully decorated and clean. Host Jeanine has taken care of every detail to make your stay comfortable and welcoming; has all you can possibly need and more - from a cell phone charging station, brochures of restaurants and places to see, horseshoe and cornhole games, a firepit (wood available), even an umbrella. She thought of everything! The view of the pond from the cabin is breathtaking and once you are there you can enjoy a peaceful environment, listen to the sounds of nature and have fun swimming or simply floating (you can even fish there). We enjoyed dinner at Murphy Chophouse, The Farmhouse and JR Chophouse. We saw the Fields of the Wood (a must see) and even enjoyed The House Cat Museum. On our way home we saw the Uhuburg (Eagle Owl Castel) in Helen. I included only outdoor photos so you can be pleasantly surprised when you walk in like we were. Best vacation ever!!!!

It was very easy to check in. Communication from the homeowner was terrific! We enjoyed fishing, hiking and exploring the area. We had friends nearby so it was the perfect location for us to stay.

Check in was super simple and the kitchen had all utensils, pots and pans, along with most commonly needed spices.

Our stay at the mountain laurel cabin was fabulous! We would recommend giving the kitchen a deep clean, specifically the pop our draws under the sink, all cabinets and knobs, and the dishes provided.

This was by far one of the best places i have ever stayed at, clean, quiet, and was exactly what was advertised. If your looking for a place to stay away from commercial tourists spots this is it. The only issue ( and really not a big issues) was the cleaner showed up about 15 minutes before checkout but promptly left when they realized i was still there. I'm definitely going to be booking again !!!

We stayed at this location 2 years ago. This time the the privacy wasn’t as good and the cabin didn’t feel as clean and had a musky smell when we got there. A board was loose on the deck

Wonderful cozy cabin with your own private pond to fish (catch&release) or just sit on dock and enjoy the beauty of nature. The cabin was very clean and provided basic supplies. Screened-in back porch over looking the pond has a nice gas grill. Fire pit area was perfect to sit around for a relaxing evening with horseshoes to play. Excellent place to stay especially if you love nature. Quiet and secluded, but close to town and an easy drive to the Great Smokey Mountains!

It was an adorable cabin! Only disappointment was that our stay wasn’t long enough, it was so great! The pond was so amazing. Loved how secluded we were!

Start to finish - from easy check-in to clear check-out - the cabin was just perfect. Location was private and features like the pond and screened in porch were highlights. Hot weather yet the inside temperature control made it comfortable. Highly recommend.

This was the most relaxing, yet fun filled vacation we have ever had! We only left the cabin twice during our week stay. We spent most our time down by the pond. We caught and released countless fish. My husband and daughter enjoyed the jon boat several times. We enjoyed the ring game on the porch, the Cornhole boards, the horseshoes and the fire pit. The property is quiet and secluded. We had breakfast on the screened in porch every morning. I HIGHLY recommend this property. Side note: watch for hornets on the dock. I got stung by 3 hornets within a few minutes of being there. Thankfully my husband located hornet and wasp spray and took care of them so we could enjoy the dock. The cabin is well stocked for cooking also. I can't say enough good things about it here! We will be back!

What a beautiful cabin! We so loved the fresh mountain air and all that the cabin had to offer. The attention to detail and ease of staying here was such a great experience. The owners thought of everything and made it easy to settle in and relax quickly. It’s one of those places that you really don’t want everyone knowing about!!!! We will be coming back!

We really enjoyed our stay here. So much to do there, horseshoes, fire pit, fishing etc. The owners have the cabin set up with everything you need. The bed was super comfortable. Rooms decor was so cute too. We grilled steaks and enjoyed eating on the patio. We caught and released several bass. We would definately recommend this cabin to anyone!! I only wish we could’ve stayed longer.

What a pleasant surprise, the pictures just don’t convey what a little piece of heaven - Mountain Laurel Cabin. I stayed there during a class I was taking at the John C. Campbell folk school and it was very convenient to the school. I loved coming back in the evening and being immersed in peace and quiet and able to walk around the property.

The house was immaculate, with everything supplied for a great mini vacation. Excellent communication from the owners… very attentive.We enjoyed fishing! Hope to return soon…

Great place to relax. We enjoyed our stay so much we extended our time from 7 to 9 days. Property is stunningly beautiful, very private, well thought out in every detail and exquisitely clean with everything you will need provided. We are already planning a trip back.

This cabin is quite adorable! The pond and surrounding. area was covered in fresh snow making it magical. Everything that we needed to stay safe inside the cabin was available. It was easy to get to which we appreciated since the roads were icy. Can't wait until we can return!!

We had a wonderful time. My husband and I came to rest after hosting our large family for Christmas. The cabin is even more special than the pictures and all details were covered. So thankful for the time we had together and this home made it perfect for us.

A comfortable cabin in a quiet, pleasant location

We were looking for some much needed R&R and definitely found it at this wonderful little piece of paradise. Although the weather turned really cold during the time we were there, we enjoyed long walks, seeing the local deer and relaxing by the fireplace. We also discovered Julie's Place nearby to eat and enjoyed several meals there. We are definitely adding Mountain Laurel Cabin to our list of favorite places to stay when visiting western NC.

Perfect setting for our needs. The class was demanding so unfortunately we were not able to utilize some of features such as the pond and fire pit. Very nice setting.

This is a really nice cabin. We enjoyed our stay. Only stayed half of our time due to weather from Hurricane Helene but would definitely go back. Very quiet and pond is a really nice feature.

The property was even nicer than I expected. The owners thought of everything for their guests. I caught 4 bass which I released. John boat there was big plus. Very private as advertised but access to main road. Plan to return in November or December! Donna

The place is wonderful. Off the beaten path, but easy access to lots of options! Our host was terrific and easy to communicate with. We had a great time!

Cabin was very clean. It was equipped with everything we needed for the perfect stay. Everything was in working condition. My son loved the boat and fishing.
