Management was kind and very responsive when the ceiling fan lost a blade while we were gone... (those things happen.) The house is a bit dated, but the biggest concern is that being on a hill, it slants downhill enough that the shower door has problems staying closed and during severe thunderstorms, we were a bit nervous... but the biggest concern is the access. DO NOT try to find this place in the dark; it is hard enough in the daylight. And do not rely on electronic maps for directions. We didn't realize until day 2 that there was a sign at the entrance that advises 4-wheel drive... the manager really played down the treachery of the road to get there.
Beautiful Mountain View it felt very secluded .We loved the porch swing at treetop level. We saw elk , turkey, songbirds and butterflies. The road up is best for a 4x4 and we had some car issues but did make it. Doubtful it would be reachable without a 4x4 in winter snow. The mobile home is dated but well appointed for a cabin feel with multiple areas outdoors that we enjoyed. Definitely a place we may return to another summer.
Our first time going to NC, found this place in VRBO. To get phone reception is very hard around that whole area, our check in was @ 4pm we got there past 7pm since the roads are very dark and signs are very small some hard to read. Once we got to the cabin, it was very cozy and the area was so peaceful. Would definitely stay there again.
We loved the location and cabin was nice other than it really leaned in one direction. There has to be some foundation issues that you can't see because the front foundation is covered up.
It was definitely remote. Although they need to replace the mattresses, very uncomfortable. Other than that it was good.
It was an awesome night with friends.
Such a cute little place tucked in the mountains. So clean and peaceful!
Clean and nice cabin
Pete was amazing and answered all our questions in a timely manner. Very accommodating. We weather winter storm Elliot there and saw temps -3 degrees. Never lost power. Heat worked great in the cabin. Our family unplugged and enjoyed being together. Our kids enjoyed the fire pit and made s’mores. Definitely recommend a 4WD vehicle to navigate the drive in and out from the cabin due to snow and ice we had. We will be looking forward to our next family adventure!
Pros: Awesome long range Mountain View Good kitchen and dining area Cons: Fountain needs to be leveled, half the house is sloping and is very noticeable inside the home Swing has several cracks, our family would not sit on it Picnic table had been painted and is now severely peeling and dirty Extremely slow internet service
We had a great time at the location. Kids enjoyed it and we enjoyed the time to disconnect for life for a week. Definitely not a location for small cars or Motorcycles. Suvs or 4x4 highly recommend. Beautiful area.
Was a great stay, but there were a few things I didn't know. The outside lights at the campfire didn't work. U had a window ac unit that was off so it was really hot when we first arrived. We lost power like 3 times the 2nd morning we were there. The shower in the guest bathroom kept stopping up and the toilet in the main room. The swing had a split up it and was scared to sit on it. The house was very nice and was plenty if towels and cookware. Was a great place to stay.
