The new Frio River Bunkhouse is a tiny cabin perfect for either a one person retreat or couple’s getaway. At a cozy 304 square feet this nook of a cabin has everything you need for a rejuvenating experience in the beautiful Texas Hill Country.
The Bunkhouse sleeps 2 in a queen-sized bed and offers a bathroom/shower combo. The living area (full sofa & smart TV) and kitchenette/dining peninsula offer everything you need for a quick weekend or extended visit.
Outside you’ll find a couple of Adirondack chairs around the fire pit, a Weber charcoal grill, and a picnic table under the trees for dining al fresco.
Our 5-acre property features 3 individual cabins. You may see your neighbors, but each cabin enjoys plenty of space. If you're interested in renting the entire property for a family or friends gathering, you can send an inquiry through the Vrbo platform.
Our spot on the Frio River is perfect for relaxing, not too deep, and offers several swimming ‘holes’. Park your chairs and canopy in the river and kick back with a cold drink.
If you’re looking for a quiet getaway, our private stretch of river is enjoyed only by surrounding landowners and their guests - there are no tubers passing through.
Wanting more of an active getaway Head down to Garner State Park for some stand up paddle boarding, hiking up Old Baldy (elevation 1840ft), and stay for the storied dance that’s happened nightly during summer months since the 1940s. Or head over to Lost Maples for excellent hiking with trails for every level of hiker, and where in the fall you can check out the prehistoric Maple trees and their gorgeous fall foliage.

Please note our section of the river here is not suitable for tubing or kayaking, but if you’d like to go, both Leakey and Concan offer several river outfitters. We recommend Happy Hollow just south of Leakey and Andy’s on River Road in Concan where you can rent tubes and kayaks and enjoy 2-way shuttle service.
Not a summer outdoors person We still have some thing for you. Leaf watchers love us in the fall and snowbirds love to use our cabins as a getaway in the winter. Our area is also great for birders as birds and monarch butterflies migrate through our area year round.
A beautiful destination anytime of year!
Every inch of this little cabin was so well thought out. Very comfortable, clean, quiet. We couldn’t have asked for more.
Perfect accommodations.
This cabin is perfect! Very comfortable, cozy, bed is super comfy. Location is so peaceful- can’t wait to go back!
Nice place. Private river access was VERY limited.
Cozy and exceedingly clean. Everything I needed for a quiet getaway.
Very cute and cleverly decorated. A clean and welcoming stay to make you feel at home. Garner State Park was our favorite place to hang out.
The wife and I were able to get away for a couple of days and relax. The cabin was just the right size for two people and the view, especially at night, was simply beautiful. I’m sure we’ll be back.
Wanted to get away to a pet friendly location. River was very low (not the fault of the Host) but it was a nice getaway. Will come back again when the river is closer to normal flow.
My husband and I booked this cabin for 4 days and it was perfect. Everything in the cabin is indeed thoughtful. Will definitely return
So relaxing get away
Beautiful and great river access especially for kids!
This was just as described and really sort of perfect for us. We wanted our dogs to escape Fort Worth heat and play in the river....and that's just what happened. We would book this cabin again.
Very clean, peaceful and just a short little walk to the river.
Great place for a couple to have a quiet getaway. Easy access to river. Quaint and clean cabin. Had everything we needed.
I’ve always loved the Frio and this place did not disappoint. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet and the amazing landscape. The stars at night are literally big and bright ;)
Very nice little house with a short walk across the road to the river.
A perfect place to relax and get away from the city!
This place was a nice drive through the hill country to a quiet and secluded area. The surrounding wildflower fields were visually stunning. You can’t see the river from the cabin, but it’s a short 5-minute walk across the dirt road. It’s really small but perfect for us two and our little dog. We were able to get grilling supplies in town at the local Mercantile and ate out at a nearby Smokehouse. We took a day trip to Garner State Park. Swimming the river at the cabin access was my favorite part. There wasn’t another person in sight the whole weekend. It’s like I had the Frio River all to myself.
Everything was as stated. The location is very nice.
Loved it and will be returning soon!!
My husband and I stayed for a long weekend for our anniversary and had a great time. The cabin is comfortable and thoughtfully outfitted. The furnishings are cozy and tasteful, and perfect for curling up for a relaxing evening in. The kitchen is well-stocked if you choose to grill-out. Its secluded location is quiet and perfect for star gazing on clear nights, along with being an easy walk to the river. Christy was very nice and responsive to questions. We hope to make it back again!
This property was wonderful. Small and quaint. So peaceful. The Frio river was right there and it was majestic! Christy was so helpful and we will be back! Highly recommend for a weekend getaway!
The little cabin was close to Garner State Park and a stream of the river across from the cabin. We enjoyed the fire pit as it was a bit chilly and I’m glad we figured out how to turn on the heater inside! It was all very cozy!
Took my wife here for a surprise birthday weekend getaway. Could not have asked for a more perfect spot. This place has everything on the wish list: private river access, gorgeous hill views, stargazing, quiet and secluded, and tons of amenities. Wish we could've stayed longer!
Lovely, clean and well kept cabin perfect for a romantic getaway. Easy access to a sweet spot on the river via a quick walk. We are already thinking about coming back. It's about a 10 minute drive into town with beautiful scenery. Would definitely recommend!
