Stayed Aug 18, 2025The property was quite close to the highway and run down. It was clean and the beds and furniture were comfortable. The door was sagging and difficult to open and close. The rooms were very dark and one of the lights blew out as soon as we turned it on and the was an intermittent beep like a smoke detector with a weak battery. Between finding a bulb for the living/ dinning room light and my search for the elusive beep, that turned out to be a co detector installed in 2017 and had the original factory batteries and was close to the floor behind a curtain, the first hour was frustrating. Small bath and kitchen and quite warm with no a/c, with a fan and open windows we were more comfortable but the traffic noise was very annoying until very late.

Stayed Aug 9, 2025First, I am 77 and not easily able to climb into some beds. The beds were great but hard for me as only one way to enter them. The cabin is very rustic and has no AC, only an indoor evaporative cooler and fans. We stayed in August which is a warm and humid month in Az. we developed a system leaving open the bedroom windows and front door, with the screen door locked, open at night. We placed a provided fan behind the screen to pull the cool, 65', air into the house and force it out the bedroom windows. The provided evap cooler we programmed it to run of 4 hours and all this made the night comfortable. The kitchen adn bathroom are small and most everything was provided. Soaps, towels, So just bring meals. The back deck was great as we watched so many animals, Squirrels, Deer, woodpeckers, We spent a good time on the deck.when the temps were in the 70's and less. The cabin was like going back to the 1970's. Yes, we enjoyed it.

Stayed Aug 28, 2024Diana was a wonderful host, communicating well with us, making sure we were comfortable. This is definitely a cozy cabin, don't expect a big, shiny house with all the amenities of a resort. Instead, be prepared for limited space, tiny bedrooms, and washing dishes by hand. Then, enjoy the back deck, under the umbrella, watching the woodpeckers in the pines, and the deer wandering through the yard. For me, it was the perfect place to get away from the busyness (and heat) of Phoenix. Our only complaint was that the White Mountain Highway is just about 100 yards through the pines and we could hear the busy traffic all day and late into the evenings. Other than that, it was a great get-away!

Stayed Aug 13, 2024Older pine cabin with adequate furniture and facilities it could use a deep cleaning. Bed mattress not very comfortable. Limited closet space with dresser inside. Someone else had left clothes in both dressers. There was an electrical problem that owner assured us would be fixed. Had to enter through door as keys won’t work for us in front door. Kitchen was well stocked with dispense utensils. Lovely patio view but chair cushions were dirty and steps needed repairs. You have to bring your own towels. The prowess very reasonable but without air conditioning I doubt I would rent it on the heat of summer.
