- Bear's Den gives you a central location that is just over 20 minutes to either West Jefferson or Boone, with Blue Ridge Parkway access points 10 minutes away.

Breweries like New River Brewery and Boondocks Brew Haus are great for trying local craft beers, while Old Barn Winery and Vineyards gives you a taste of wine in the High Country. You have to take the time out to visit Ashe Co. Cheese Factory while in town for free samples of homemade cheese and a tour of the factory and cheese-making process.
