Cozy and comfortable, yet newer, authentic log cabin on 1.5 acres, just a five minute drive (2.4 miles) to downtown Nevada City. Three bedrooms, plus media room with a full-size pull out couch; three and a half bathrooms, with updated, modern decor and amenities.

Features include: High-speed Wifi, two large flat-screen smart TVs for access to your own Netflix/Amazon/Hulu, etc. accounts (there is no cable television access at the cabin), Sonos wireless speaker, central heat and air conditioning, dishwasher, washer and dryer, Tuft & Needle mattresses and white linens, private attached two car garage for easy, interior access to the home. Hardwood floors throughout.

The updated, modern, high-end kitchen includes all stainless steel appliances, and is fully stocked for meal preparation and dining. Dining table with extension leaf comfortably seats up to 12.

The house is located directly on the Cascade Canal trail, offering 4.5 miles (one way) of virtually flat hiking through the peaceful forest along a beautiful gold rush-era waterway. Direct access to the canal and trail is literally 15 feet outside the back door. There is a large lawn in front of the house with a separate deck for outdoor dining. The house is up a private driveway on 1.5 acres with only one other house viewable from the property for privacy and seclusion.

Bedrooms include:
- Primary with a king size bed and private shower and toilet room. Double sinks are located in the master bedroom itself (see photos).
- Queen bedroom with built in desk. Shares full hall bathroom (with shower/tub combo) with:
- Cozy bedroom with two twin beds.
- Basement media room with a full-sized pull out couch (with memory foam topper) and its own private, attached half bath.

An additional full bathroom (with shower) is located on the main floor, off the kitchen.

There is a wood burning stove in the living room for both warmth and winter woods ambience. Plenty of board games, puzzles and toys for kids young and old. The bookshelves are full of books to read while there, or take with if you become engrossed in one.

Pets are welcome with an additional cleaning fee. Children welcome and will love it here, but know that there is no fence leading to the canal waterway and should be watched closely. Comfortably sleeps 8 adults, additional children welcome in pack'n'plays/floor mats.

We've put a lot of time, energy and thought into making this a special mountain getaway retreat in a very special little town and know that you'll have a wonderful time in our home!

Guests have access to the entire house, including the garage. The home is three stories, including the lower garage/media room level, so it is a requirement to be able to go up and down stairs. Additionally, the house is located on a slight slope with gravel paths and stairs for access to the front door. Being able to navigate slightly loose, uneven terrain is also a necessity.

A local property manager is available for any onsite needs or questions.

Other things to note:
PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff Potential - Much of Northern California, Nevada City included, is subject to power shut offs from the local utility, PG&E, when it is determined that weather conditions are creating a high fire danger (typically, high winds, low humidity and warm). The cabin is equipped with a Tesla PowerWall battery back-up, so power should not be interrupted at the house, HOWEVER, when running on back-up battery, the air conditioning will not work and major appliances (washer/dryer & dishwasher) should not be used to conserve battery energy. By booking the cabin you acknowledge that there is the potential for loss of power in the area and at the house during your stay. Refunds will not be given if a power shutoff in the area is predicted or occurs.

Winter Conditions - While rare, it can snow in Nevada City in the winter and our Cabin is at a slightly higher elevation than town, meaning more snow. The gravel driveway is on a slope leading up to the house and is not easily plowed. If there is snow forecast, it's highly recommended to have a 4WD car with chains and/or have enough food and wood provisions for a cozy weekend snowed in. If enough snow falls and your car cannot make it up, you may be required to park at the bottom of the driveway and walk the short distance up to the house. Snow shovels and sleds provided.

Early Check-In/Late Check-Out: If it can be accommodated (no one else is checking in or out on your arrival or departure day), we can sometimes offer either early or late check out, outside of the typical hours of 4 p.m. check-in/11 a.m. check out, at a rate of $10 per hour. However, we typically will not know if the request will be possible more than 1-2 days prior to check-in. If you know that you'll need an early check-in/late check-out, consider booking another night!

Potential for noise - The house is a log cabin and the floors upstairs are the ceilings for downstairs without any insulation. Noise travels easily between the two floors.

No Smoking - This is a no smoking house and property. If it is found that any substance has been smoked anywhere on the property (particularly inside the house anywhere - including basement/garage), you will be charged $250 for smoke remediation.

This home was exactly what I was envisioning when I thought about a cabin. Beautiful log cabin with a wonderful kitchen including all necessary amenities. The rooms were cozy all the way to the lower floor media room which my nephew called his own little apartment. Very private along with an amazing trail for us to w alk with our little dogs. Casi was responsive and very easy to deal with. We would absolutely choose this hone again!

Our family of four enjoyed this cabin so much for a quick summer getaway. Plenty of space for each of us with all the things we needed to feel comfortable. Short drive into town, quiet, secluded location with a nice trail behind it. Our boys loved walking the trail and especially loved the creek at nearby Pioneer Park. Loved it so much we recommended to friends and booked again for the Winter!

The location near the Cascade Canal Trail and the proximity to town are two great reasons to stay, but the house is just so comfortable! Beautiful views from every window. Large, nicely designed and well appointed kitchen and each living area a place to mingle and share time with family and friends. The bathrooms are beautiful and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The owners thought of everything. Can't wait to come back! Thank you!!!

Casi’s home will quickly become your home during your stay. It really has all you could possibly expect, super well provisioned kitchen, comfortable beds, linens, lots of room for e everyone. Make sure you make use of the lovely deck out front. It’s a great spot to regroup after the day’s activities and the front porch is so nice for watching the stars and chatting before bed. Don’t miss the chance to stay here.

My daughter lives in Nevada City and planned her wedding there. I wanted to be close to her, downtown and the wedding venue and this house was ideal. My one question was answered promptly, otherwise all details were apparent (it helps to look at the book!). We didn’t cook much due to the excellence of local restaurants—South Pine always for breakfast, New Moon and Lefty’s for dinner, but in normal circumstances the kitchen would have been a delight for family meals. Consider this our family destination when we visit the newlyweds!

The home was warm, spotless (and I mean not a speck of dust), beds and linens were very comfortable, great set up for a family, and the location was terrific, especially the hiking trail. Dog friend loved it too. Highly recommended.
