Well equipped and clean

Such a beautiful well kept property in beautiful surroundings. It was central for lots of places. Lovely touch of a welcome bottle of wine. We will certainly love to come back. Only one criticism is that the BBQ was dirty but shame on the people who left it that way as the owners obviously take pride in the property. Thank you so much for a lovely stay and will look forward to our return.

The peacefulness was wonderful…unfortunately the dishwasher wasn’t working and the lodge site could benefit from more poopy bins….complimentary bottle of wine was a nice touch too x

Well situated property that was ideal for touring the Lake District. Close, by car, to hiking spots, restaurants, shops, etc.

Excellent, will definitely stay again

The lodge was beautifully positioned with a view of the lake from the spacious decking. Kitchen was well equipped and beds were very comfy. I loved listening to the birds in the morning and my daily evening walks with the dog and children down by the lake. So peaceful and relaxing. We even managed to try paddle boarding and the reception staff were very helpful! It got hot during the day as it’s glass fronted but there were 2 fans provided which really helped us to stay cool. Beautiful lodge in fantastic peaceful surroundings we will definitely be returning!

Just on the way home from the most fantastic stay at Julie’s lodge in Bassenthwaite!The lodge was beautiful and had everything you need, and the location was absolutely stunning !Without a doubt a definite 10/10 If you book this lodge you will not be disappointed.

This was our 3rd time booking the lodge and once again it did not disappoint. The lodge was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and had spectacular views. Communication throughout was excellent, and the wine was such a lovely touch — we really appreciated it and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Looking forward to booking again!

Good location, easy to get to most areas of the lakes. Modern clean facilities. Twin room a bit small for Adults. Good parking. Plenty of walking from lodge.

Lovely cabin in a wonderful setting. Great view of the lake. Clean and comfortable. The site was quiet in a great location. We wanted a nice relaxing few days and exactly what we got. Highly recommened. Will go again.

The lodge was clean, tidy and vrtu stylish. The accommodation was well.placed for visiting places of interest and made for a very relaxing stay with our dogs.

The hosts were excellent every time I spoke to Julie she contacted me straight away. The lodge was just beautiful and surroundings. The lodge had every comfort one needs when you go away. It was warm, comfy , and spotless. And we had a lovely bottle of wine and brewing up facilities plus biscuits who left for us what more could you ask for and talk. Would definitely recommend to others and hope to come again .

Everything was great! Lodge is perfect for 2 but easily fits 4 people. We had some welcoming presents and everything was very clean and tidy. Location is ideal. We would definitely recommend it.

We had no power, water or heat from 8.45 the first night until a fuse was purchased from Carlisle the next morning. It was freezing cold and couldn’t even flush the toilet. We had to go out far earlier than planned in order to have a drink and breakfast and get warm. Owner says it wasn’t their fault so no recompense due despite two requests and no answer to our second request.

A fabulous place to stay and great base for exploring all that the Lakes have to offer. There is access to the lake for paddle-boarding and swimming. Well equipped and well presented lodge with everything we needed for our stay. Would definitely book again. Very quiet location but within a short drive of Keswick.

Communication from owner was prompt from start to finish. The lodge itself is as described and in a lovely quiet setting, ideal base for seeing the north lakes.Lodge had everything you need for your break, local shops are 15minute drive away or pick up what you need on the way home from your day out. If you want a nice peaceful break this is the place. Would recommend.

Great lodge, great location and decent weather, couldn’t ask for more

The cabin is in excellent condition with a good range of quality kitchen ware. The view is fantastic. This really is one of best cabins to hire in Bassenthwaite. We have stayed here on a few occasions and will be returning soon.

The site is perfect for a quiet relaxing stay, great views and 2 minutes to the lake. Everything you need in the lodge for a home from home stay. If you have dogs there’s a great area for dogs for a short walk and a 2 mile circuit without having to get in your car!!!

Great site, wonderful cabin, so lovely and clean. Bedding was beautiful and bed was great. Everything you needed and well stocked. Best settee we’ve had and we have stayed in a few log cabins, Most are near to the floor but this was excellent. Thankyou to Julie for the wine.

This was our 2nd visit, best family/dog friendly place to stay in the area. Excellent facilities and super comfy lodge in a picturesque location. The owner was very accommodating and responds promptly.

Main bed too small for us but everything else was fine

We had a great stay at the lodge. It was clean and comfortable with everything you needed for an easy stay. The location is remote but there are so many lovely places around to visit and some great walks and amazing scenery. We only stayed for 3nights but would have happily stayed longer and hope to return. Communication with Julie was easy, who responded quickly to a few enquiries I had. Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful location with a great range of activities to enjoy, recommend going to Keswick, going tot the local wildlife park and enjoying some food and drink at the Sun Inn. The lodge was amazing with everything you need.

Overall - a good experience

Me and my friend stayed in the lodge during our visit to the Lake District and we absolutely loved it! The lodge was beautiful and felt very homey and the views were incredible. The property was clean and had all amenities included that we would need! We will definitely be back and I am 100% recommending the lodge to my family and friends!

What a find, the accommodation was spotless in all areas, the location quiet and very picturesque. We wanted a quiet Christmas day this year away from everything and not an organised pub family dinner. We were not disappointed and it may change our choices for the future.We stayed for 3 nights and felt as though it was a real home from home. Even the weather was kind to us, no rain. We all agreed that we couldn't have chosen better.

My partner, myself and Juno (the dog) had a lovely stay here. The lodge is peaceful and only 10 mins away from Keswick. We enjoyed a hike up skiddaw and some evenings out locally. Price and location are perfect, would highly recommend. Julie is very responsive for any queries you may have!

Booked a couple of lodges for a family get together and our son, wife and children had a very comfortable stay in your luxurious lodge.

The lodge had everything we could have needed and was lovely and cosy. And the location was outstanding - gorgeous lakeside walk and close enough to Keswick for a bit of shopping

This is now our 6th stay at the lodge. As always, we had a lovely and relaxing time. We love the quiet of the site and its closeness to the surrounding areas like Windermere, Ambleside and Keswick. Theres lots of lovely walks near the lodge, which is fab for our dog too.

We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge on Bassenthwaite Lake. The lodge was spacious and comfortable---well equipped for everything we needed for our three night stay. It was in a great setting, just yards from the water and very quiet. It was well located for visiting other areas of the Lake District, including restaurants and a distillery close by and the market town of Keswick and Derwentwater about 15 minutes away. We would definitely stay here again on a return trip to the Lake District.

The lodge was just as described - very modern, clean and cosy. The site itself was also lovely. This was the perfect place to stay, close enough to Keswick for things to do but away from the crowds. Highly recommend a stay here, we will be back for sure!

There is nothing I would fault about the lodge, the location, or the whole weekend. We were very lucky with the weather, so we’re able to take advantage of sitting outside with the fabulous view of lake and hills beyond. Although the lodge is situated on the path down to the lake, it was still quiet enough not to be an issue. The lodge itself was a great size, with everything you need, and was lovely and clean. All in all, a fabulous break and we will definitely return.
