Log Cabin next to the Mississippi River

Cozy cabin that didn’t cramp the 6 of us staying there. Beautiful views, close to the river and many amenities; will definitely be staying again

Loved this private cabin. Was very clean and cozy. Everything was as expected except for the train tracks right across the street and the train that came by several times blowing the horn even at night. Being woke up several times by the train horn was not pleasant.

Such a cozy cabin! Comfortable places to sit and sleep. Fireplace added a nice warmth and cozy addition. Everything was clean on arrival. The host gave detailed instructions for arrival and departure. It was a convenient drive to nearby attractions and towns. We really enjoyed our stay.

The place was perfect. Plenty to keep us warm. Lots of little things that made the stay comfortable. It had everything we needed. Clean and comfortable.

Everything was just as described online. The train that travels back and forth all day takes some getting used to. Almost scared me to death at 3am the first night. Blows the horn right in front of the house. I'll be back.

Quick response time from host. Comfy cabin near lots of cute towns, hiking, and nature centers. Cabin was comfy and cozy. Had some cleaning issues upon arrival but host did remedy them.

Beautiful little cabin. I'll definitely be back. The only thing I'd change about my stay is bringing my dog... I have a golden retriever and she loves to run around. The cabon has a yard, but it's near a hwy. So I had to keep her leashed. But oh so BEAUTIFUL

We enjoyed our stay very much and that was the most important thing for us with our little anniversary getaway. We note that this is not exactly riverfront so don't be confused by the listing and the fireplace is electric. Check-In was a little difficult because we arrived after dark and we had to find the lock box and then manage the strange triple lock mechanism to get in. Then since it was dark out it was dark inside and we had trouble finding the remote controls to manage the lights. However, these are minor issues overall and once we figured it out everything was just fine. We found the place to be cute and quaint and well enough appointed that we were very comfortable. It was close to everything we wanted to do and far enough so that we felt fairly remote. We enjoyed our stay very much and it's likely we'll be back!

Our stay was absolutely amazing! The cabin was cozy , comfortable, and private. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and playing games. We brought our fur baby who enjoyed the outside area.

This is a nice property that worked well for our needs. It should be mentioned that there is a railroad tracks immediately in front of the home. As much as four times a night, a train would roll by with its horn very loud as there's a road crossing. Otherwise the home was nice, certainly could have had the air conditioner fixed and not dripping through our stay.

Beautiful cabin. Lots of amenities to enhance the rustic cabin feeling. Located along a highway. Can't see the Mississippi River from cabin but it is a very short drive to it. We enjoyed our time at the cabin and in the vicinity.

Pets allowed, but not a big enough yard for an active dog

Great location for hiking and seeing the effigy mounds. Plenty of little towns nearby to have a meal if you so choose. The cabin is beautiful inside with all the amenities needed for a very cozy stay. Wonderful place for a quiet getaway!

We wanted a quick, 3 night getaway that was very low key. This cabin was perfect for us! We enjoyed nearby hiking during the day and reading by the fireplace in the evening. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen has everything needed for cooking. Would happily stay here again. It is as pictured.

have a complain about the place we were reserved in Harper’s Ferry, Iowa. We ended up arriving there on the day after which was Friday morning December 20. The place was not shoveled of the snow. The entire place was cold and we could not get it to warm up and we saw only ambient heaters and they did not get it warmed up that well. We contacted the owner Carrie and she told us she would find the maintenance people. We waited and no one came. We continued to still feel it very cold. We decided that we could not stay there any longer and decided to leave. We received a text from a Kyle who said he was the owner of the place too. He said he would go and check out the place. He told us that the thermostat was apparently set down to a very low number probably by the cleaning lady. I assure you we never saw a thermostat, the place was very very cold and the bathroom was even worse in that it was colder. I advised Kyle that we would appreciate it if we were refunded our money as we never went there in the evening of December 19 due to a snow storm and we were barely there in the 20th. He said Carrie would take care of that. We have not heard from Carrie and are worried she will not honor that. I am not sure who was giving them 10/10 for reviews but if you ask me I would not even give them a 1/10 for a review. The place was cold, the snow wasn’t shoveled. Our Anniversary trip with our two dogs was so relaxing and just what we were needing. With our trip falling just after Halloween, it was so fun sit in front of the fireplace in the cozy cabin and watch a scary movie! We were able to cook up a yummy dinner as well! The area is beautiful and close to everything! Thanks for the great stay!

Stayed here with my little brother and 2 friends that we met online many years ago. The place was cozy for the 4 of us, but we had just enough room at the dinner table to play cards and eat. Living room was perfect for us to watch football and TV and play video games. Kitchen & grill was perfect for us. We made authentic ramen, tacos, steaks and grilled burgers and brats. Kitchen had plenty of pots & pans and silverware and plates for the 5 day trip. My only complaints are the train blaring thru every night multiple times and we could have used a nightlight out by the fire so we could see where we were walking. Other than that we all had a fantastic time. Thanks for letting us enjoy the cabin!
