Log Cabin Living on the Esopus Creek

The cabin is lovely, quiet and in a beautiful location. I would be so happy to just hang out on the porch with the view of the river! Hoping that I'll be able to book again on my next trip to Saugerties.

The cabin is a lovely cozy spot in the woods. Michael was a fabulous host. Extremely kind and accommodating. We enjoyed the peaceful setting on the creek and had a wonderful long weekend.

It’s a beautiful place (better than the photos). Hand-crafted cabin, awesome view up the Esopus. Just outside of town, but feels like wilderness. Comfortable furniture, well-equipped, nice wood stove for a chilly evening. Hosts Joann and Mike are like your best neighbors: they leave you alone but are there for whatever you need at any time. We’ve been here several times and look forward to our next visit.

Fantastic cabin in a beautiful setting. Cabin is clean and built with love. The view from any window is amazing. Mike is a great host and is near by to answer any questions. Beds were comfortable and kitchen fully stocked. We will be back.

As much as I want to gatekeep this gem, it really deserves another 5-star review.Years before Bravo came out with “Below Deck,” I was a stewardess on 150’ private megayachts. To say I have high standards of cleanliness is an understatement; we cleaned vents with q-tips and polished every single fingerprint off every single surface throughout every single day.This log cabin is the nicest, cleanest, tidiest rental I’ve ever stayed in. Mike and Joanne have gone above and beyond to ensure things are in order for each new visitor and all the furnishings and utensils are new/very gently used.That’s the tip of the iceberg; they’re also incredibly kind and hospitable. I came here for a solo escape from the overstimulation of downtown Manhattan living—wow did I hit the jackpot. On the evening of my second and last night, it began to snow. Mike checked in on me, making sure I felt safe and had everything I needed. I woke up to a fairytale; we got 12” overnight! But by midday, Mike had the road and driveway cleared, right up to my driver’s side door.I’m already looking at dates to plan my return.

We loved the cabin! It was a real treat to stay there. It was designed for comfort and complete relaxation. Clean and beautifully decorated! The location on Esopus Creek is amazing and the views are stunning! The cabin was a little hard to find with GPS but our host Mike guided us there with no problem. We would highly recommend this cabin for a quality stay when in the Hudson River Valley!

The home was just as described and spotless Host was fabulous and very responsive Views were lovely. We hope to visit again soon

Very cozy and secluded.

We loved this property so much we came back for another long weekend.

A hand-crafted log cabin, with a whimsical bear-themed decor, perched high above the Esopus Creek. About 80 steps down to the water where you can kayak on the creek and observe wildlife (swans this time, three years ago we spotted an eagle), drift between two heavily wooded steep banks, one side a sheer rock face. Close to the beautiful town of Saugerties. Listen as the lonesome whistle of a passing train lulls you to sleep. Owner lives next door and is a delight (also very responsive). Our third visit and not our last.

Very secluded, impeccably kept house perfect for our little family. We hit the farmers market, opus 40, Ashokan rail trail, peekamoose blue hole, and enjoyed the kayaks and the creek on the property.

Mike was incredibly welcoming and a great resource for questions about the area. The cabin was clean and so peaceful. A beautiful spot!

Our Hosts took interest in every details. Beside the cabin being absolutely perfect in every way, the location, the hosts, the cleanliness, everything! What a great place to spend time with friends or family!! Thank you Michael and wife for all you did and do! We loved our stay!!!

Everything was perfect. The view was mesmerizing. The cabin was spotless and well laid out. There is a great hiking trail on the property. Our only regret was that we didn't book it for a longer stay. Just outstanding.

My stay at Michael and Joanne’s cozy cabin in Saugerties, NY, was absolutely perfect—5 stars! Tucked away in the woods with a serene view of Esopus creek, this cabin is a gem. The interior is warm, inviting, and spotlessly clean, making it the ideal retreat for a peaceful getaway. Michael was incredibly welcoming, ensuring I felt right at home from the moment I arrived. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, and the hosts’ hospitality truly elevated the experience. I can’t wait to return to this charming haven! Highly recommend!

This was our second stay at the log cabin. It is so cozy and well-appointed. The covered porch is our favorite part of the house. It is a great place to sip coffee, read a book or have an evening cocktail and dinner. Our dog really enjoyed hanging out there! The host, Michael, is such a nice guy. I highly recommend this property.

Second time staying here and just as pleased. Cabin is pristine upon arrival, having a light scent of maple as you enter. Not sure yet if we prefer spring or autumn, but would love to spend either or at the cabin. Mike & Joanne are fantastic.

Such an amazing location! Access to the creek and great fishing, away from the noise with only the sounds of nature. Hosts were beyond welcoming and everything you needed was already there. Immaculately clean and very cozy. Will definitely return.
