This cabin likely started as a one room cabin with a loft from around the early to mid 1800s. The bedroom furniture is also from the late 1800s so it makes me think it may have always been there. It's a true relic of Appalachian family living through generations. It was very cool. It also barely had one neighbor you could see and had a nice view. Other historic property elements were the outhouse with a toilet seat from the 1850-1880 period, a later shed that was most likely built early to mid 1900s and a grave marker that was likely from a child or wife. Some kids wrote on it with pen, which is pretty disrespectful, but overall it was well preserved despite the add on renovations that made for a comfortable stay with all of the amenities you would need for a few days away with the family. The only change I would make are the check out and check in times. It's an hour later for check in and an hour earlier for checkout than almost every other cabin in the area and it costs an extra 35 for each to change it. Other than that, it was cozy and peaceful. We will be back and recommend it to anyone else who appreciates peace, quiet, and Appalachian history.

Our stay was definitely one for the books!!! The location was incredible, nice and secluded but not far away from the gorge! I would say that the only icks my significant other and I had was that there were dead bugs everywhere (there was a roach crawling around when we were cleaning up before we left), there was like white floating materials in the hot tub, and there wasn't really away to enjoy the view in the back out of the cabin due to it being blocked off. But other than that, the owner is super sweet, responsive, and understanding!!! We would definitely come back. We truly appreciate you all letting us stay.

This cabin was adorable. The location was great. We were glad to be tucked quietly away in the woods after a long day of hiking. Our host was great with communication and easy to reach if we would have needed anything. We would stay here again!

The property was adorable and very well kept. Very isolated which we loved. We were disappointed that the indoor fireplace/stove didn't work as it was listed as an amenity. The hot did work well, there were some floating things in the water, not sure what those were as upon looking at it, it did appear clean. The bed was comfortable and clean and this kitchen had what we needed (except maybe a paring knife/sharp knife). It is really beautiful and we had a lovely weekend. We did use the outdoor firepit which was nice as well.

Great little cabin! Host was awesome, great communication. Easy drive to every attraction im the Red River Gorge, and an easy drive to Richmond if your looking for a bit of city action. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the oven door is falling off if you simply touch the range and the stand that the microwave and toaster sit on is ready to topple onto someone. In all fairness, I did report to the host and told them that we would be ok to not have it repaired during our stay, but still a bit of a flaw that keeps this cabin from being 5 stars. All im all we had a great time exploring the gorge and it was nice to have a comfortable hot tub, cozy cabin and nice bed to recover grom the days hiking, snd not have to drive too far to get home.

We all know what we like, pictures tell a 1000 words. So you know what your getting when you stay here... It's rustic and relaxing. This old house was somebody's dream and I like to imagine what they were thinking when they build it. That's just me, I like old structures and the history that follows. If you're staying here it's because you're probably hiking through Red River Gorge. So that jakuzi after a long day is refreshing, thanks.
