Large family friendly cottage by the sea. New modern cottage with great facilities.

The views were absolutely stunning, and the sauna and fire pit were wonderful highlights of our stay. However, a few notable details: the hot tub water was unfortunately green, and certain finishings, including the glass balcony, moldings, and pool table, were not built with high quality. Also, as a few other guests noted, the neighboring guests were quite noisy playing loud music late into the evening. While we enjoyed the overall experience, these specific maintenance and quality issues detracted from our stay.

We never tired of the view...absolutely magnificent. We were there in May and enjoyed the midnight sun! Plenty of sturdy deck chairs, a big hot tub, and an impressive large couch with plenty of throw pillows. Only 2 of us so the property felt large. Just incredible sunsets, relaxing hike to grocery (25 mins), even a farm across the way with friendly goats, Scottish cattle, horses, even emus! Easy taking modern bus to Bergen. We rented a car for last 2 days, but did fine first 2 days hiking around. Friendly people in the area, and very relaxing.

We enjoyed our days in Williams hytten very much, everything has been suiting our needs 100% and we felt very comfortable and kind of home. Thanks so much for having us:)

We so appreciated being right on the water and enjoyed the view from each room in the house! The sunsets were magnificent! The owner was available and responsive to the couple of questions we had. We cooked our meals and the kitchen had all that we needed. The hot tub and sauna were enjoyed at the end of each day for a relaxing moment. The house is approximately 45 minutes into the center of Bergen and a beautiful ride. We wanted our first trip to Norway to be authentic and the best way we found to do that was to stay in a lovely fjord to take in all the natural surroundings… this house provides that and sweet memories that we won’t soon forget!

We had a lovely stay at William's property. The cottage is lovely and well equipped. The location is stunning and was a much needed respite during a busy trip - everyone wanted to stay longer. We hope to be back next time we're in Norway.

The house is in a very nice location and has al the amenities you need. The firepit was pretty cool with the stunning sunsets. There is other houses just around which seem to be kind of partylocations. It was a bit noisy 3 evenings during our week...but maybe that's just because im getting older ;-) William is a very nice host and takes care of everyhing. The fishing is also pretty good and there's a lot of fish just a 5 min drive with the boat. We really enjoyed our stay in Steinsland.

Views are lovely, & flowers on the deck were a nice touch. Unfortunately, this experience was very disappointing. Too many things to review, but here are some: no number on the house (hard to find), bad directions, odd layout, poor lighting (no light over kitchen sink), broken washer door, missing baseboards, guests are expected to make their beds on arrival, sheets weren't provided, what was there didn't fit the beds, one towel per person (no hand towels, washcloths, pillowcases, etc). The bedrooms are tiny, no closet, shelves, nightstands or dresser in master (only a hook for clothing), and bed is only place for luggage. There was large piece of burlap over the bed that is covering a large hole in the wall. I found it when I was struggling to make the sheet fit the bed and leaning against the wall. Shoddy workmanship in house (see some pics for examples). I contacted the owner/manager, who seemed less than interested in fixing the issues. There was no book that owners typically provide that gives house information, local information, restaurant info, etc. I have never left a review like this - I have been using VRBO for about 9 years, and this is the worst experience I have had.

The house was immaculate. Incredible unobstructed water view. Very nice and responsive owner. Open floor plan from kitchen to dining room to living room to deck. Too many bedrooms to count. All furniture brand new and very comfy. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking and dining ware for larger parties. This was MY ALL TIME FAVORITE RENTAL. There was a new gas Barbie if you like to grill. And, the Panorama Hotel is a five minute walk if you want to dine out a night or two. What an excellent value. The listing doesn’t do it justice. Again, highly recommend.
