Perfect place for our annual family weekend for ages 19-91! Cozy and warm with a fireplace in the main living room. Kitchen/dining room was perfect for cooking and eating. We will be back!
Stayed at many B&B this one was one of the most comfortable and felt as I was home Fantastic
Great space especially for a larger group to gather. Private baths for every bedroom a luxury in a rental property. Outdoor space was perfect. We had light snow falling for our visit and it couldn’t have been more postcard picturesque!
It was overall a nice stay, but needs some work. The pictures depict a beautiful cabin, but in person is showing some wear. Upstairs bedrooms are hot. Would like a fan provided or option to open windows, but there are no screens on the windows. Would like window coverings over all bedroom exterior doors and windows. Many of us came home with a lot if bug bites (likley chiggers). The property management was great to work with and even did a bed bug test with exterminator, which came back negative. Would like a crockpot added to kitchen, but otherwise its well stocked! Cabinets are very high up, so things were hard to reach for us shorter people. The cabin is starting to show wear/age that doesnt show in pictures. On the positive side, again great to work with property management, love that every bedroom had its own bathroom, lots of walking trails, attached to Hoosier National Forest, large yard for dogs to run amd for humans to play yard games. Said we couldn't use outdoor firepit in Sept when we were there. Only available October to March, so that was disappointing. Getting to town is short distance wise, but longer time wise due to windy roads, so come fully stocked with things you need. Also no laundry available on site except laundromat in Nashville. We had a lot of fun being together playing games, cards, yard games and overall had great time. Its a decent size cabin, but the majority of the square footage goes to beds & baths so it doesn't feel huge. But is nice!
The property was beautiful and well maintained. Extremely spacious and private. Every household had their own room and plenty of places to relax and chat. The hot tub was great for the adults to relax in the evening after kids bedtime. Beds were good, with the exception of 1 downstairs bedroom. Games, books, and toys for all ages — my 1yo was enchanted with a firetruck. The kitchen was well stocked with tools, truly anything you could want. We had brought some specific tools with us like large bowls, baking sheets, and a peeler, all of which was in the kitchen. The bathrooms all had plenty of towels. We loved how nice and stocked up everything was. The porch also had comfy rocking chairs and there was an outdoor fire pit with more than enough Adirondack chairs. Overall, a perfect place to get away and relax with family we don't get to spend enough time with. We accidentally locked ourselves out of the upstairs bedrooms, and it was very easy to call the property manager and get the unlock code. My only (little) quibble is I don't like being asked to transport our trash, especially when we are paying a large cleaning fee and the dumpster is clear down at the end of a private entry road so you have to drive your trash down there. One group in our party did have a vehicle they didn't mind using to haul the trash but otherwise I likely would have called and asked for an exception. Just noting that for awareness.
The cabin is a huge, comfortable space that was perfect for a getaway with my extended family of 8 (plus dog). The 5 bedrooms with their own bathrooms were great for three couples plus two young adults, giving everyone a bit of privacy when they wanted it. The large, well-stocked kitchen and 10-person dining table were perfect for family meals, as were the multiple charcoal grills (not to mention the smoker, which we didn't use). In the evening, the firepit was perfect for s'mores, with plenty of adirondack chairs for everyone (plus some marshmallow sticks were provided). Truly a peaceful experience if you want to get away from the city/suburban life for a few days. That said, the WiFi was strong and worked perfectly throughout the house (which was good because we didn't have cell signal). Do be aware that you're quite remote from everything, with a 20-minute winding drive to get to groceries/restaurants in Nashville, so come prepared!
Just what we needed.
Setting was beautiful. Can't say enough about how relaxing it was. Sitting on the front or side porch listening to the birds and being serenaded by the whippoorwill, watching the dove hatchlings and the happily feeding hummingbirds was amazing. Nice trail to the pond and around to the front of the property. Lots to do in the area.
The property was even nicer than expected. There are tons of ticks like a hike of 10 feet into a trail left us with 3 ticks each. It is very serene and quiet but very far off of the main road. 4 strange men showed up asking where they could stay. Given the property was 25 minutes from the main road this was very suspicious. We did not feel safe to stay and left a night early. This was very disappointing. We called the property manager about it and they never followed up to make sure they left or how we felt about it.
Spacious cabin in the country. Excellent for time away from city life.
The cabin was very secluded, it made for a very relaxing and nature centered stay. There were a few bugs in the house, which is natural given it is a cabin in the woods, but putting this in review so potential guests know what to expect.
Plenty of different birds and nature to listen to. Loved the access to trails around the property but make sure to wear your hat, there were quite a few ticks. Peaceful, clean, and spacious inside. Hot tub was a nice addition. Would book again.
We had a wonderful stay here with family. We loved that everyone had their own bathroom and plenty of space to spread out. The land was perfect for exploring.
Great cabin for families with children of all ages. Kitchen was great for everyone to be together while cooking or eating. Cabin has a great layout and there is plenty to do for everyone. Full baths for each bedroom is great. Trunks with toys and plenty of games and books was great. My Grandson played with the wrecker and firetruck the entire weekend! Cons: Fireplace was not working and there is no firewood provided for inside or out. Avid Anglers might be a bit disappointed with the fishing ponds, but great for the kiddos to go fishing.
This is a great space which was perfect for our friends and family weekend getaway. Loved the bathrooms in each bedroom and the grounds were beautiful. We loved the Story Inn for dinner and we will definitely return.
The house and property were beautiful and relaxing.
Very nice rustic cabin in the middle of nowhere. It would be nice if there was a washer and dryer available for the price per night. The family really liked it.
Huge property for exploring, all the essentials we needed were there - even body soap and shampoo! Nearly Every bedroom has its own bathroom which was awesome! Cabin was beautiful and our family of 8 had a blast!!
We wanted to spend time together. Some coming from Indy, some coming from Evansville . To find out the VRBO site was wrong about the distance to Lake Monroe was VERY disappointing !! The steep hill up to the house was hard for my Nissan Rogue !! The house itself was clean except for the bugs in the bathroom on the first floor , connected to the bedroom in the back ! The upstairs NEEDS ceiling fans for the bedroom. yes very warm ! The big grill , which my sons all have big grills , was filthy ! Too much money for 48hrs!!!! But what I loved , when my family arrived the house came to life !! Sure did ! The house has a lot of hope , maybe take out all the weeds is a start It’s very cool being out where it is Thank you
