Communication from owner prior to arrival was excellent. Location was easy to find and access and was exactly as described. The home is amazing! Wall to wall windows, facing the lake, provide amazing indoor viewing should the weather be poor. The deck, with ample seating, outdoor fire ring and walkable boulder shoreline are perfect!! We highly recommend a stay here should you be headed to the Grand Marais area.

It's a charming cabin, very clean, and well maintained. I enjoyed the retro decorating style. Although it sleeps 6, as the photos show there aren't private bedrooms and the bathroom and kitchenette are quite small. It is perfect for a small family, or may a couple of friends to share. The southern view of lake is beautiful. We watched the sunrise and sunset.

I liked the big window to look out over the lake. I didn't like that the kitchen and bathroom were so tiny and there was some buzzing noise that kept going off making it hard to sleep. The smoke alarm battery went off and luckily we were able to pull the batteries out of a tv remote, otherwise it would have been beeping all night. There was no information packet so you had to figure out where to turn on different lights and the ROKU TV is crap.

Delightful property that we would frequent again! Very private, charming, warm, with a mesmerizing front-row view of Lake Superior. Rock shoreline is an unending diversion throughout the day. Had all the amenities we needed to cook, sleep, and shower. Great place. Thank you!

We always love coming to the north shore and we were excited to come up and spend some time by the lake. We love how close the cabin was to the water. The kitchen was well supplied, the livingroom was ample and we loved the fieldstone fireplace. That being said there were a few things that concerned us. Firstly, accessibility: my mother is almost 82 and there were no handrails on the outside or inside steps, not great for people with some balance issues. Secondly, the bathroom. There are no pictures of it on the website. We falsely assumed it wouldn’t be an issue but the space is SO small it made us wrestle with basic facilities use. It felt like a broom closet. There are no grab bars, the toilet is slanted and the vent fan is extremely louid. Third, the cushions on the outside deck chairs are torn and molded on the other side. Fourth: general cleanliness and upkeep: the pans in the kitchen were greasy as were the kitchen curtains. The blinds in the living room let off a plume of dust when let down at night. 3 of 4 of the outside deck lights were broken off in the socket. One functioning light. The fire extinguisher in the kitchen had a tag that said last serviced in 1994, the kitchen has a broken window, and the closing mechanism is off on one of the living room crank windows so I had to go outside and push it closed, duct tape to patch the sliding screen door. Lastly: the driveway into the unit has huge ruts from where the rain has washed it away.

What a cool cabin! So many fun details, we kept noticing more and more. From the awesome Hamms beer lamp to the rotary phone to the kitchen that was so fully stocked, it had everything we needed and then lots more. So many thoughtful details too, like a really great sound system for listening to WTIP, and a Smart TV for when we wanted to feel a little more modern and watch some Hulu.We LOVED this cabin! Like a time capsule but with just the right number of modern amenities added to it to make it nice and comfy.

We stayed here a couple years ago and loved it so much we came back. And now we can’t wait to come again! It’s cute, comfortable, and conveniently located. It’s just a few feet from the shore of Lake Superior, so we could watch and listen to the waves all day. It’s close to Grand Marais and Lutsen, so there’s a lot to do- if you ever feel like leaving this wonderful cabin. It rained for most of our trip but we loved just staying in and relaxing. We did have to park our car at the top of the steep driveway so we wouldn’t get stuck, but the walking path up the hill was easy and short.

Nice rustic cabin for our family of five. FYI, there are no traditional bedrooms in this cabin. The beds are in the living space and a loft, and a twin is in an entryway with a fridge. We managed with this but it was less than ideal if parents and kids have different sleep schedules. There are mice in the cabin and I cleaned up a decaying mouse after smelling it for the first night which I was unhappy about. Otherwise the cabin was well-equipped and clean. Suggestion to host to have more deck furniture available; there were only two chairs; and remove the large yellow-top bins from the loft as it felt like it was a storage area.

It was our 2nd stay & we just love this cabin. It is a perfect mix of rustic with just the right amount of updates to really be rustic luxury. Beds are comfortable & cabin is clean. You can not beat the location! 30 feet from lake superior! Views are amazing! Close to lutsen for skiing, and close to cascade falls for hiking. You don't want to miss this one!

We had an amazing week at this very special cabin. It was the perfect blend of North Shore old school cabin but with every comfort you could wish for. The beds were incredibly soft and the huge fireplace was so cozy each evening. The very best part was the HUGE windows that gave you an amazing shore view of waves crashing on the rocks! You can even explore the rocky shore as it is part of the property. We cannot say enough about how wonderful our experience was!

We loved this cabin, and it has been one part of our best experiences with Lake Superior. We came in the end of summer. It is quiet and with access to the shore and Lake Superior. In the cabin, it has almost everything you will need for entertaining your family, friends and yourself. Plenty of games (puzzle, chess, board games) if you came with friends and kids. Every day is so sunny and beautiful, we watched the sunrise and sunset, nothing can compete with the view.

Very clean and tidy cabin on the shore of Lake Superior just north of Lutsen. Centrally located between Tofte and Grand Marais, so easy access to all activities and dining spots if you can pull yourself away from the beautiful lakeside setting.

The location right on Lake Superior is magnificent and the cabin is beautiful and cosy with many spaces to gather or be on one’s own including out on near the water. Check in and out was a breeze. Stunning views of Lake Superior and a fabulous rocky beach are highlights of this location. The comfy cabin is welcoming, homey, and the right level of rustic. We spent a week and hiked in three of the nearby state parks, explored the rock beach and made paintings and drawings. We watched the lake, watched the horizon appear and disappear in the fog and rain, watched the waves crash on the rocks which had been dry the day before. After dark the rocks were a great place to lay back and star gaze and watch for perseid showers. The kitchen had everything needed to cook meals when we wanted but is located within a few minutes of local eateries as well. Most evenings we relaxed, listened to the radio, worked on a puzzle from the game cabinet, and made s’mores. It was a wonderful escape and we hope to go back soon!
