Dreaming of a lakeside retreat in the mountains Allendale Log Cabin has just what you're looking for. Enjoy the peace and privacy of a lovely lakefront setting, all within a short driving distance of the High Country's best attractions. With wonderful community amenities and a beautiful wooded setting, this cabin will make you feel right at home.
--------------------------------------------
Indoor Spaces:
- Sleeping arrangements: Perfect for small families, this cabin sleeps fiveguests. The primary bedroom is on the upper level, with a king bed, its own TV, and a private bathroom. On the main level is a large second bedroom with three twin beds. The upstairs loft features a twin-size futon for extra accommodations.
- Main level: Experience an authentic log cabin, with a soaring A-frame cathedral ceiling and a fully wooden interior. In the great room, you can curl up on the comfortable L-shaped couch in front of the wood-burning stone fireplace. Large windows and glass-paneled doors give you stunning views of this cabin's natural surroundings. An open floor plan connects the living, kitchen, and dining areas, so you can enjoy family time while you relax and cook a meal.
- Upper level: Along with the primary bedroom, the upper level also features a loft that is perfect for quiet reading. We've also equipped the loft with a desk for journaling, or (heaven forbid) if you need a peaceful space to work.
- Allendale Log Cabin comes with WiFi, AC, and satellite TV.
- All Stay Blue Ridge vacation rentals include a complimentary starter pack with soaps, one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, a roll of paper towels in the kitchen, dishwasher pods, and trash bags.
--------------------------------------------
Outdoor Spaces:
- Located in a private community, you have direct access to Fleetwood Falls Lake and the South Fork of the New River. Bring your swimsuit and fishing gear, because this lake allows swimming, fishing, and paddling (with no motorboats to spoil the ambiance).
- Gather in the lakeside gazebo to watch wildlife flock to the lake's waters, or find the nearby trailhead that leads to an easy hike up to the falls themselves.
- The cabin's deck has comfortable rocking chairs for enjoying the seasonal delights of indescribably gorgeous fall foliage and the soft fall of snow in the winter. A grill and picnic table await on the deck for when you want to eat your meals outside in the fresh air.
- Get your marshmallows ready for roasting. A gravel path leads you from the cabin to an outdoor fire pit, complete with plenty of Adirondack chairs for your next kick-back.
--------------------------------------------
Local Surroundings:
- Perfectly distanced between downtown West Jefferson and the larger college town of Boone, this rental gives you easy access to all kinds of attractions and unique experiences. West Jefferson is just over 20 minutes away and home to a wide array of shops and galleries, as well as exceptional dining. Some of the closest attractions WJ offers include Mountain Aire Golf Course, a public course with stunning mountain views, and Old Barn Winery and Vineyards. Meanwhile, Boone is less than 30 minutes away and gives you even more options for shopping, dining, and exploration. If you are visiting in the fall, you can even catch an App State football game.
- If you're going to Boone, you may as well take the short journey over to the neighboring village of Blowing Rock as well. This quaint town has everything you could want and more, from fine dining to artisan shops. From both Boone and Blowing Rock, you can find multiple access points to the famous Blue Ridge Parkway, a scenic drive speckled with tons of hiking trails and overlooks. It's beautiful year-round, but especially in the fall when the leaves begin to change. For even more fun in the sun, take a trip out to the New River for canoeing, kayaking, tubing, and fishing. Bring your own boats and tubes, or rent from one of the many local outfitters.
- Looking for some snow Enjoy snow tubing, snowboarding, skiing, and ice skating at Appalachian Ski Mountain all winter long.
--------------------------------------------
Important Notes:
- Pet Policy: Up to two dogs welcome. Must be leash and crate trained, two years or older, and 45lbs or less. $50 per pet, nonrefundable.
- Access: The Fleetwood Falls community is easily accessible and well-maintained. However, we always recommend AWD/4WD in the winter, as the roads can get icy. Safety first!

The cabin was easy to access and had everything we needed. The pictures don’t do it justice. Massive fireplace was used during the snow and seasonably cold weather.

This home was perfect in every way! It was incredibly clean! Probably the cleanest home we have ever rented. Also loved that it allowed our family pets. The home was cozy with a great layout and huge wood burning fireplace. Stunning views and huge wrap around deck. Super comfortable king size bed and quality of the linens (bed sheets and towels) was appreciated and better than most we have experienced. The community was beautiful with a shared lake, places to sit and enjoy the lake view with a good book, picnic tables and gazebo. My husband enjoyed fishing in the lake - it’s practically in the backyard and a few minutes by car was a beautiful river perfect for fly fishing. We loved that there were paved roads to the home instead of gravel. It was only 20 minutes to Boone which was a bonus. Highly recommend!

A nice, quaint cabin right on waterfront of small pond/lake. My wife and I enjoyed the woodfire fireplace (firewood, tools and essentials were provided for our stay) and king bed, as well as the cabin having basic essentials for cooking and coffee. Large windows allowing lots of sunlight and views were a favorite! Location is roughly equidistant from West Jefferson & Boone, with easy access to the parkway. Some things to note (from our perspective): - House number/home difficult to see (if arriving around or after dark) - Towels/linens & sheets are locally washed and remain at cabin, not a service provided for fresh towels - Upstairs shower does have dirt/mold on outside (as reported in other reviews) - Hot water can run out somewhat quickly in taking multiple showers. Overall an enjoyable experience and would look to rent again!

Lovely cabin mountain retreat. We were looking for a quiet fall fall mountain get a way. Enjoyed the outdoor firepit and the inside fireplace. Kitchen had all we needed, nice view of the lake through the trees. however, the bedrooms were not real inviting. The sheets were thin, worn and torn. The upstairs shower in master needs to have caulking and shower drain clean and caulking replaced because it contains black mold, health risk for anyone sensitive to mold. The instructions are to keep the shower door propped open because of this so the owners are aware of the issue but not addressing the problem.

2 senior adults and 2 dogs thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Allendale Log Cabin! Great for porch sitting listening to birds and walking the hills in the neighborhood or a stroll around the lake. Perfect vacation destination!

The cabin is very charming and accommodating. It has a great view and it is well equipped . The neighborhood is really nice to walk around and enjoy the little lake. It is an older cabin but it is very clean. The shower upstairs is on the small side and the king bed mattress is soft. We had a great time with our family.

Beautiful cabin! Great for the whole family and pet friendly. The lake is more of a large pond but we still enjoyed swimming and fishing. Love the area around the cabin. Great for getting outdoors and exploring. Would visit again.
