Disappointed. We had a reservation elsewhere that was evacuated the day before our stay so this was a last minute booking. We were still excited and chose this home because of the vicinity to the lake. The property is privately situated and appears to have great lake access. Not so much actually. There isn’t a trail to speak of so you’re walking through brush to get to the rocky shore. That’s doable. The first full day of our stay my daughter, 3 yo granddaughter and I went to check it out. They waded around for about 1/2 hour with intentions of swimming and kayaking after lunch. We noticed numerous dead fish floating near the shore. We returned to the house and removed our wet clothes. Unbelievable. LEECHES! My granddaughter is still talking about my removing leeches. This changed the week for everyone. No one wanted to go in the lake from this point forward. Would’ve been nice to know beforehand. Someone in our group researched and it there’s even an issue with blue/green algae. Explains why the lake was virtually void of activity. A couple boats and kayaks, but not many. The house. As others state, the windows have inadequate window coverings and mostly fixed windows, resulting in the house being very hot and uncomfortable. It does cool down eventually at night in parts of the house. The sun is in the windows early too. The living room furniture and beds are old and squishy. The dining table is actually a picnic table. The listing shows a king in the master. Not so. Some of the door knobs don’t work. Bathroom doesn’t lock and a bedroom locks you in. Toilet roll holder is broken and a towel rod fell down whenever we touched it. The kitchen. Really needs stocked. Basically one knife that cuts-a steak knife. Glasses-2 shot glasses, a cordial, a wine, 2 juice glasses and 2 water glasses. Weird forks. The propane tank was empty when we arrived and the check in email stated you were expected to fill it and leave for next guest. Nope. We purchased our own and brought it home. The house is absolutely INFESTED with fruit flies. The fly strip does nothing but collect them. Gross. Hard to put a meal together when they are flying everywhere. None of the games or puzzles there were intact. The house has an odd floor plan and quirky flea market decor. We made the best of our stay and enjoyed each other. What was great? Appliances worked well, lots of hot water and great water pressure. Will we be back? Not a chance.

Very close to Yellowstone which is nice but the house leaves much to be desired. We enjoyed the quirky decor but it just wasn’t a particularly comfortable space. Windows without coverings make the house hot in the day and way too light early in the mornings. There were almost no usable cooking supplies (pots, pans, knives, etc) and what was there was very old and dirty. Microwave was very old and lacked power and there is no vent over the stove so anything cooked on stove top contaminated the entire house. The house had fruit flies all over, especially in the kitchen, for our entire stay. The top bed bunk had no safety bar so not really practical for use. Overall, just really disappointing. Especially considering the price.

Great Location on the lake front looking northwest at the fall colors beyond the lake. 10 feet in front of the massive lake view window a bull Moose walked by on our first morning. Wonderful family time in the quiet beauty of Idaho.

A nice house, but not clean. We found old contact lenses on the bathroom floor, bug remnants in the bed sheets, many cobwebs, someone's eyeglasses on the floor next to the bed, lots if trash in the cellar well next to the trash cans, faulty carbon monoxide detectors, faulty light fixtures

The house was full of mouse poop, dead bugs and very dusty. Counters were dirty. The bunk bed springs were wore out. The one twin bed did not have blankets long enough to cover a teen child. The ladder to the bunk bed was broken in the closet. Towels had stains on them. The upstairs master bath had hair in the tub. The owner came into the house while we were out. We had purses left in the house, thinking they were safe. Bring your own chairs for outside. The chairs were broke or full of bird poop. Garbage cans were already full and had to clean up garbage that was in the yard.

Very nice place with beautiful views but we experienced issues with bats while there. All the outside furniture was covered with bat droppings. We also had a bat in the upstairs bedroom.

The view from the house was amazing and the structure was great. The furnishings and decor were in very poor shape. The home was not cleaned well either. I had to empty the dishwasher upon arrival and put garbage bags in the can. We did enjoy our stay in this beautiful location.

Let me begin by saying that the last review i saw on here (which was one star and came at the end of July 2020) is totally inaccurate and should be taken down. My wife and I rented the property for a week in mid-August 2020 and it was very clean and exceeded our expectations. Rooms, counters, bathrooms, grill and the whole house appeared to be professionally cleaned prior to arrival. The bathrooms are all nice, water pressure is great, internet is fast and more importantly the view is amazing. Additionally, we saw fox, moose and all sorts of birds from the house. My wife and I actually spent a good amount of time making fun of the one star review which mentions that the welcome mat wasn't properly aligned and that the dishes didn't all match. Those comments have no place in a review of a summer home/cabin near a state park in a remote part of Idaho. We loved the place, loved the area and look forward to returning soon. Oh, the master is actually a king sized bed BTW.
