After an adventure filled day outdoors, relax in our Seek and Snore Cabin. Our grandchildren inspired us to create this "I Spy with my little eye" themed cabin which showcases some of their favorite things seen while exploring the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge which is less than 3 miles away.
The Lazy Buffalo has 13 individually themed cabins and a bunkhouse. Each cabin is decorated uniquely to capture the essence of the Wichita Mountains and the history of our hometown. The Seek and Snore Cabin is located in our newest addition. Our grandkids love playing "I Spy with my little eye" when driving through the Wichita Mountains. This cabin's theme was inspired by them. Will you find all the fun animals hidden throughout the Cabin
The Seek and Snore Cabin has two queen size beds and a full bathroom with a large walk-in tiled shower accented with glass blocks. Knotty pine walls and corrugated tin are used throughout the spacious cabin. Dark stained concrete floors and tin ceilings add a rustic yet elegant touch.
The cabin has a kitchenette area with a mini fridge and microwave along with table and chairs. Sip on a cup of coffee from the rockers on the front porch or have a picnic in our outdoor pavilion complete with charcoal Grill.
When it gets dark, roast marshmallows at the outdoor fire pit or relax under the stars in the back of our vintage star gazing truck, located just a short walk from the cabin. Firewood and lighter fluid are provided.
Both kids and adults will love tossing horseshoes, throwing Frisbees at disc golf, playing old fashion board games from the front porch, and creating music in nature at the interactive Music Wall. Don't forget to snap memories at our themed photo ops.
Because we get to host lots of hunters and fishermen, we wanted to provide these guests extra convenience by providing an outdoor fish and game cleaning station located between our bunkhouse and cabins.

This was our second time staying here and it was a blast. 10/10 recommend. I chose this place the first time because of all the games and I had my kids. We stayed here again when my husband could join, and he loved it just as much as we did. Watching the stars, playing the games, the seek and snore room is super cute for kids! Everything is always clean, has everything you need and they even add little things like plates/snacks. Definitely came in handy when I forgot a spoon! The complimentary coffee in the rooms was nice to have both stays as well! Thank you for helping us make enjoyable memories with our babies!
Very cute decor, thoughtful details, comfortable room. Beds a bit soft and we sunk down in them in the middle, and the bathroom was a little small and needs better lighting over the sink to put on makeup. No place to really put bathroom stuff so it got pretty crowded. Very nice shower with the dispenser but it needs maybe a shower shelf for personal items and a towel rack next to the shower so there’s no dripping on the floor as you try to get a towel…Also, the porch lights (and sunlight) came through the blinds and made it hard to sleep bc the light was so bright. Maybe a dark curtain to help keep the light from coming in the on the sides? We enjoyed the ambiance and outdoor amenities, stargazing area, the sounds of crickets and watching the fireflies. It is right off a road that’s pretty quiet, as stated, but there’s also a small bar down the road, and you could hear people outside, but it wasn’t crazy loud or anything, so that was ok, but it’s also close to a major highway, (a bit down the road) and you can see cars and hear traffic noises and trucks at night. It was pretty loud sometimes even inside. Also the booming of artillery from the base I guess…. Not too loud but you could hear it…. I think that’s what it was…. Most of this can’t be helped, I know, so it was not really a big deal for us, but it might be for others that are very sensitive to noise and wanting it quiet. It’s not exactly out in the country as I expected but it’s good enough and has that feel. It was close to WMWR and 20 minutes from Lawton and Medicine Creek and other area attractions and had a wonderful country/western vibe and overall, It was still very relaxing to be able to hear the crickets and birds and sit in the rocking chairs, enjoying the country air and cool breeze, and stargaze. We appreciated the Seek and Snore room with all the little critters to find, (even though we were 3 adults) and the waters and snacks and welcome note with Hershey’s kisses. Also, the fan! I don’t go anywhere without one and it was nice to have that for extra air circulation at night. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the things that I mentioned weren’t a big deal, but just ideas for improvement to make it just about perfect. I would stay here again just because it had such cute country charm. I think families would love all the fun and creative rooms that are so much better than a regular hotel room and was quite reasonably priced. Thank you for our relaxing stay!
Our family of 4 enjoyed our weekend getaway and stay at The Lazy Buffalo. Property was well maintained and room was clean. The only negative, which is out of the owners control, is the bar traffic late at night from down the street and the casino lights across the street. Overall, it was a great place though.
Had to use my own credentials to sign into Netflix. Plus not anything else to watch. Other than that room was great!
Very clean. Nice amenities. Easy access and would definitely rent again.
Julie has the perfect setup outside of the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. It was very clean. Bed was comfortable. Such cute decor! A storm blew through while we were there- Julie called to check on us and give us directions to a nearby shelter. Overall, it is an excellent place to stay, and we hope to return again!
Very easy
I would recommend to anyone staying in the area
I love the sound of rain on a tin roof but if you don't , I wouldnt advice staying on a stormy night. Loved everything about the place.
This was everything I expected and then some! There are so many fun things to do. We never turned on the TV in our room. We disconnected from everything and enjoyed each other. Star gazing was my favorite part.
