Stayed Nov 25, 2025The driveway was horrible! It was almost a reason not to rent it. The house was clean and sufficient. It was a disappointment considering that there was no view of lake or mountains. We would not stay there again

Stayed Nov 8, 2025The cabin was well maintained . Temps dropped during the week and heat was not a problem. Hot tub was able to keep good temps even in the evening. Lake access is not a benefit at this point . Hopefully lake will return to it's past glory. All in all a great stay.

Stayed Oct 10, 2025The location is excellent. Secluded but convenient to shops, dining and activities in Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. Lots of great hiking everywhere! The decor in the cabin is perfect. The kids loved the game room and hot tub, and the wrap around deck was great! Easy and quick communication with the owner.

Stayed Feb 13, 2025This house is nestled in the woods with a private feeling. Bring ear plugs if you sleep downstairs, because the old floors creek. There are lots of beds and a small table for eating. Over all it's a great deal. Owner was very good at responding to questions. The porch area is magnificent and there is a good picnic table outside in a covered area.

Stayed Sep 13, 2024We came to the Lake Lure for the weekend getaway. This place offers a plenty of privacy, hot tub to relax at the end of a day, cozy and stylish interior, freshest air of the woods. It’s minutes away from Lake Lure kayaking and swimming.

Stayed Sep 4, 2024Online this place looked great, it had all the amenities we were looking for, the only problem was that not all the amenities listed were in the condition one would expect. To start we ran into some issues in our travel plans and didn't arrive at the house until way late, by that time everyone was exhausted and ready for bed. In our quick walkthrough of the place looking for the sleeping arrangements, we noticed lots of spiderwebs throughout the house. We assume that the house has likely sat empty for a few weeks. The next morning we got a better look at the place. On top of spiderwebs throughout the entire place, the windows were extemely dirty, there was dog hair in corners, under the beds & couch, and coated the blanket on the couch. The entire place smelled like wet dog and pee as well. The playstation had no working remotes and the storage under it had random trash in it. The upstairs bathroom ceiling is molding and the bed boxspring is completely worn out and sunken in. The pictures show 2 different hot tubs and the house actually has the more dated one, covered in dirt and dust surrounded by spiderwebs, under a decaying deck above. Through all that, the biggest issue I had was the audacity to send us the check in email days before with instructions to leave an extra $175 cash for housekeeping which we were already charged a cleaning fee when we paid in full weeks before. And paying cash outside VRBO seems a little shady. We will not be staying here again.
