Hand-hewn Log Cabin on 7 acres, only 2 mi to heart of Hill City

Great setting. Abundant wildlife viewing around cabin. Clean and comfortable.

This property was absolutely a perfect place to celebrate our anniversary in SD. The location was ideal to visit Mt. Rushmore, Black Hills and the Badlands. The cabin had all the amenities we needed to make us comfortable. And the views of the deers and wild turkeys every day was a special treat.

Exactly as listed, great location. Excellent communications, cabin fully outfitted for comfortable stay. Local wildlife and close hiking opportunities a bonus.

Everything was great!

The cabin is in a picturesque location on the outskirts of Hill City, a quaint Black Hills town with plenty to see and do. Great restaurants nearby, and easy access to all main routes to see the major sites. The cabin is well outfitted, comfortably fits 3-4 people, with all you need to be cozy and comfortable. Plenty of wildlife around to see and enjoy.

Love the town, the cabin and the neighborhood. Views are great and so is the wildlife. Shops and restaurants are close and great to visit.

We had a great time staying at this little cabin. It was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. It was an easy drive to Hill City.

Loved this cabin, was very clean. We saw a ton of deer and turkey everyday. It’s so peaceful! Will stay here again next time we are in the Hills. We explored on motorcycles all day!

We loved our stay here! The location was perfect in the central hills. Every detail was so well thought out. We especially loved the porch - we spent a lot of time out there sipping coffee, enjoying rainstorms, and watching the wildlife. The size of the cabin was perfect for our family of five. We appreciated the large bathroom with two (!) sinks. My kids loved the game selection and the cute kitty that visited our porch daily.

Cabin was a nice place to stay. Very quiet except for the occasional car driving by. Looked forward to hearing the horn on the steam train locomotive every morning about 8:00 echoing through the hills. Several deer and a turkey with babies. We sat on front porch every evening and drank a bottle of wine with my wife. A welcome relief from the hustle and bustle of Hill City during the Sturgis Bike Rally.

Excellent stay. Our family had so much fun and the amenities were perfect for what we needed. Such a beautiful spot, peaceful, lots of exploration areas, and close to all the sites we wanted to visit in the Black Hills area. We will surely choose to visit again!

The house was great and the view was breathtaking. I enjoyed waking up every morning and walking out side to see the view.

This was the perfect place to stay while visiting the Black Hills. The cabin was very clean and very well stocked. David, the owner, was easy to communicate with and responded promptly. It is located far enough from town to be quiet and feel like you are away from things but close enough to be convenient. We would definitely stay here again.

We absolutely loved our stay! The cabin was beautiful, quiet, and exactly what we were hoping for. It was just far enough away to have a retreat, but close enough to Hill City, Rapid City, and Keystone to enjoy the surrounding area. We loved it and would absolutely book again!

We have stayed at Marshall Gulch for 25 years, having skipped a few years. It is our home away from home. Great location, great accommodations. And a Million Dollar View. Thank You for the hospitality.

Peaceful and comfortable beds.

This cabin was an excellent escape from our busy lives. The cabin sits on an incredibly quiet hill side, with great views all day long. The cabin was very clean, and had everything you could possibly need to enjoy your trip. The cabin is located close to Mt. Rushmore, Custer National Park, and Crazy Horse. Right down the road is Hill City, which has a nice walkable shopping district. There are a few other cities in the area that have similar shopping, and family fun activities.

The home itself was clean and cozy, and lacked nothing, but the real star is the property itself. The deer and turkeys were daily visitors, and the front porch with its gorgeous view was our favorite place to sip coffee in the morning. ATV/UTV trails were close and the town of Hill City had several good places to eat. The hosts were easy to work with and we hope to stay there again .

Cabin is a perfect getaway and mix of remote and convenience! Enjoyed our stay and was hard to leave.

The property was pleasant and clean and plenty of supplies. There were a few things that could have helped like in the main floor bedroom it had a headboard light on the bed but no where to plug it in to read at night, and that also goes for a fan in the bedroom too but no where to plug it in. Also no where to unpack close or hang them up. Up stairs bedroom there was a dresser but no where to hang up close. Also the window air conditioner was very loud and right over our heads so you had to turn it off to sleep but then you’d get hot but couldn’t open the window because the air conditioner was in there.

We were very pleased! Everything was great. Nice quiet, convenient, location.

So nice to come back to this quiet cabin after a day of wandering (Mt. Rushmore, Needles Highway, Iron Mountain Road, Spearfish Canyon, Devil's Tower, etc.) Oh, and did I say quiet? Excellent location in the center of wandering the Black Hills.

Very much enjoyed the cabin. The bedrooms were a little tight for my 6’4” frame. But the view, porch, back yard, kitchen & living area, close to Hill City made it all worth it. Need to update listing as no hot tub any longer. Enjoyed the wildlife passing through.

We stayed at the cabin recently for a South Dakota family vacation and this cabin was great. Perfect location to everything and had everything we needed. Very clean and communication was super simple. Cute mountainside cabin and we would stay again! The only downside was the kids were thoroughly disappointed about the hot tub not being on the property as the listing states. I would suggest the owners remove this from the listing as it's deceiving.

This little gem is centrally located in the Black Hills. Jill City is a great little town with everything you would need. The cabin is sweet cozy and very clean. Great place to relax after a day of activity. Highly recommend!

This cabin as absolutely adorable and was perfect for my husband and myself! We found this location perfect for slipping down to Rapid and up to Deerfield.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The cabin was excellent and the property had a great view. Saw deer and turkeys every day and the donkey next door was entertaining. The Black Hills area is wonderful, and Custer State Park is a must see!

The place was beautiful! Wasn’t a fan of the loose gravel due to being on motorcycles. But overall, loved our stay.

Cabin is perfect. No hot tub. Which is in the fine print, but when you search, it comes up as having a hot tub.

This cabin is in a beautiful location, with a great view of the black hills. It is private and peaceful. We loved sitting out on the front porch drinking coffee every morning. We found this unit very well stocked with everything needed for a respite in the Hills. Great location, centrally located to attractions, parks and dining. All appliances and equipment needed was provided and operated. We would definitely consider a return visit.

The cabin was very clean! Everything was labeled which was so helpful. We were able to find everything we needed without searching. It was a great size for our family of 4. We took in all the activities but the favorite part of the trip for our 6 year olds were UNO on the front porch and the neighbor's burro.
