We are located on the banks of the Yellowstone River, 10 miles north of Gardiner, Montana--the oldest entrance to Yellowstone Park.

Our lodge is 4300 square feet, with seven bedrooms, three full bathrooms, a large dining room, full kitchen, large family room with stone fireplace downstairs and a large living room with stone fireplace upstairs. There are two decks, one overlooking the Yellowstone River and beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. We have a very large lawn with shade trees also. It is a good place to relax after a busy day of activities.

It is a beautiful and convenient location for visiting Yellowstone Park and the surrounding area. The Park is only 10 minutes away. In addition to seeing Yellowstone, there are many other activities to do and see in the area, such as: horseback riding, hiking, fishing, river rafting, snowmobiling, cross country skiing and hunting. All of these activities are available in the nearby upper Yellowstone Valley. This area is a beautiful place to visit any time of the year.

Winters in the Gardiner area are usually pretty mild. The road through the northern part of Yellowstone to Cooke City is open year-round. This most scenic part of the Park offers unlimited wildlife viewing, particularly of elk, bison and the famous Yellowstone wolves. There is snowmobiling and cross-country skiing in the mountains above Gardiner, Cooke City and in the Park. Downhill skiing is also available nearby at Bridger Bowl and Big Sky. We recently installed a new propane furnace for comfortable wintertime stays .

We built the lodge ourselves with hand-hewn logs, cut and pulled out with our team of Clydesdale horses from the mountains within site of here. The stones for the fireplaces were picked from nearby fields.

The lodge is also available during hunting season. The trail heads in the vicinity offer good elk hunting on the National Forests of the Gardiner area.

While we do have a no refund policy for cancelations, we always try to work with our guests. We will give you a refund if you cancel far enough in advance for us to reschedule your dates. We generally have no trouble rescheduling the summer months unless you cancel a week or 2 prior to your stay. We will also give a refund If Yellowstone Park is closed for any reason, during your reservation dates. We highly recommend guests getting trip insurance as precaution for the possibility of a natural disaster, such as the unprecedented flooding we had this year. We are also willing to transfer your deposit to a date within the next year, if you had to cancel for some reason.

If the dates you are looking for are not available, feel free to contact us about our second log lodge. It was built in 2006 and accommodates 18. In the same great area, it is slightly smaller with five bedrooms. It is VRBO listing #151009. It is also sits on the banks of the Yellowstone River.
We handle all of our bookings-no property manager . We look forward to hearing from you!

Guests need to know this is a GREAT house. I mean great. It’s comfortable, good looking, plenty of room inside and outside, and the location can’t be beat. There are a few things worth mentioning that could have been better: the kitchen. We planned to cook every evening for our group of 8 adults but the small size and condition of the cookware made it impossible. We managed to grill burgers one night (great grill!) and make chili another. Most all of the huge volume of pots and pans need to go. They are past good use. Get one good set of pots, a new non-stick skillet, 2 baking sheets and let the rest go.The main floor bathroom has only the tub and it is stained and scratched up. We didn’t use it. A shower instead would have been much better.Fireplaces: there are several and none worked. Disappointing on the one cold night. We were plenty warm, but a fire would have been so nice.River access - the drop off made it impossible for all but a couple of brave souls. But I want to be clear - the house is absolutely amazing. The negatives are just things to know going in, and plan accordingly.

Loved the house, love the location, especially boardering the river. Plenty of outdoor space and there was a large covered patio out by the river that we could eat meal’s outside. Host was easily accessible and cordial.

This is a GREAT location, a short drive from Gardiner and the North entrance to Yellowstone. The owners were very easy to work with and answered questions quickly. The grounds are beautiful, and the house had plenty of room for our family of 14.

We stayed here as a whole family, which is really 4 families, 8 adults and kids ranging from 19 to 6. Dru was so nice and helpful. We drove in and out of park daily, ate at the house but also ate out. We enjoyed our stay here.

There are two lodges on this property. We had booked the one pictured above, but due to scheduling issues of our host, we were asked to switch to the smaller lodge. So I am not reviewing the lodge in the picture but the smaller one on the same property. The property is ideally located. The views are amazing and the Yellowstone River flows next to the large deck of the lodge. We were about 20 mins from the Roosevelt Arch, the northern entrance to Yellowstone, so it was ideal. The lodge was a good size for a large group. The kitchen was well equipped and it was nice to have the deck, grill, and 2 picnic tables for outdoor meals. This however was not the beautiful upscale lodge that it appeared to be in this photo. Since I never had a chance to see the interior of the original lodge, I am assuming that they accurately reflect the larger lodge. I was disappointed in the esthetic of our lodge. Also, we stayed there on the shoulder season and the heating system could not adequately heat the large basement bedroom area. I am sure in the heat of summer, the cool basement area would be a plus. But with nighttime temps of 32 degrees, it was not comfortable. Turning the heat up until upstairs guests had to open windows did not solve the problem. So we had a great vacation, Yellowstone was beautiful but i had wanted to really WOW my family with this lodge.

Took 12 guys on a fly fishing trip and this place was great. We had plenty of room and loved being right on the banks of the Yellowstone River. Great host and everything was just as described. Would definitely stay here again.

This is a very well managed property. The location on the Yellowstone River was extraordinary. Everything worked well. Our group of ten grey-haired men was very happy with the facility.

The home and the views from the property are breathtaking. The cabin offers lots of space for large groups. There were some minor issues with check in and there not being grill accessories to use. The owner was friendly and eager to share information about the space and area. Overall, I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone with a large group.

From start to finish this was an absolute amazing place to spend the 2 days we had dedicated to the North Entrance of Yellowstone. I wish we could’ve stayed longer because it was so perfect. We had 8 people in our group and there was an entire downstairs that we did not use. We played games at the dining room table, watched TV in the upstairs family room, watched the sun go down on the deck, and enjoyed coffee on the front porch watching rabbits hop around in the yard. Dru, the incredibly accommodating owner, met us as we arrived and told us a little about the property and answered all of our questions, she even went out to the barn and got us some coffee! Even though the property is right off the main highway, it sets back enough that there is virtually no road noise at all. We slept with the windows open at night and listened to the sound of the Yellowstone River which is in the back yard. Absolutely cannot express how amazing this property is. We will definitely be back!
