The layout & number of bedrooms & bathrooms provided for a comfortable stay for our large group. The kitchen was amply supplied for feeding a large group. The house was clean & the rental company was extremely easy to work with. The location was beautiful & convenient. We will return again for sure & I definitely recommend it.

Towels had to be washed due to sour musty smell. Had to vacuum dead (most of them)large black ants. Yellowjacket nest right at basket ball goal and carport area.

The house was likely built in the 1950’s and has no obvious upgrades. It is clean, although has had a musty smell on the first floor. Broken & unusable full length blinds to deck and unusable broken ironing board. Even with these issues, our group continues to rent (3years now) because of the eight bedrooms.

Reviewer Comments: We love the area of West Jefferson and there is no better place for gathering our family (kids and grandkids) for several days than the Grapevine Retreat! The Grapevine itself is spacious - with lots of room to spread out and enjoy one another's company - including a nice deck area. Our grandkids loved playing on the ping-pong table downstairs. And the really great thing is the proximity to West Jefferson and other local attractions such as the Old Barn Winery & Vineyards. The WJ Farmer's Market is a can't-miss affair. And the O's Thai Express is a hidden gem offering delicious (and healthy!) vegan options. We loved our stay. Can't wait to return :-)

The house was perfect for everyone to spread out and have their own rooms. Kitchen was well stocked as we cooked several meals. Our group had fun going into town to shop and visit Ashe County Cheese. We also took a trip into Boone one day. Part of our crowd walked to St Mary's Episcipal Church everyday to sit and reflect with the frescoes. Ping pong table downstairs was a favorite pasttime. We also loved siting on the deck in the rocking chairs! Wonderful time! Can't wait to visit again soon! Thank you for sharing THE GRAPEVINE!

We were in town for a family wedding. This property housed 15 adults comfortably. The beds were comfortable, the heating/air conditioning system worked well, the large deck with rocking chairs as well as tables and chairs were lovey for morning coffee and afternoon socializing. Beautiful views and close enough to town.

Not for those wanting luxury, but perfect for us. It was like visiting Grandma and Papa in the 70's with updates. Beautiful mountain pasture views. Convenient to downtown West Jefferson and grocery store. Kayaking close by also. All it's missing is a river view!

Perfect place for our annual cousins gathering with plenty of rooms for all of us!! Kitchen was well-stocked. We had everything we needed! Would highly recommend!!

Other than frustrating encounters with the smart appliances that are smarter than me, all well. Did have to request additional pots/pans as we had very few of them to cook for our family. We did receive them on our second day there.Property well maintained and furnished!
