This cabin is very spacious, clean and stocked with everything you need for your stay! We had a great time in this home and enjoyed the porch each morning with our coffee! Excellent and helpful responsiveness from Derek the entire time… before and during our stay! I highly recommend staying here for your visit to NC!

We had a wonderful time during our stay in the Lake Lure area. The cabin was more than well stocked and very thoughtfully labeled throughout. Very helpful in a house with so many light switches! :) The beds were very comfy. We would definitely come back!

The property is beautiful and the house was very comfortable. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. The internet was out the days we were there but the host did all he could to try to help us remedy the problem. There were games and lots of places to go to hike and swim so we were fine. When we got up this morning there was no power which also meant no water so no coffee! (augghhhh!!!) We later found out that a tree was down across the lines so not something they could help. Just remember that you are in the mountains so be prepared for anything! All in all it was a very enjoyable and relaxing time with family.

Nice and clean and we loved the area but the furniture was not good for relaxing together as a family. Very small and fragile. Defimitely needs upgrading.

We had a fabulous time at Papa Bear Cabin. The cabin was well maintained, and so roomy. We specifically needed accommodations that were wheelchair friendly. There was ample space in all the rooms and the door widths were perfect. The view of the woods from the porch was wonderful and we appreciated having a space to drink our coffee and eat breakfast in the mornings. The communication from the hosts was 5-star worthy. The only thing I would be aware of is that the driveway is steep and gravel so parking at the top of the drive is preferable. Super convenient to Lake Lure. We will be back!

Although we were cursed with rain for our short trip, communication and attention to detail were superb. The s’mores kit was perfect and a great perk to enjoy with the kids!

Wonderful location and house! Because of some extenuating circumstances that affected our husbands’ travel, it ended up just being my 82-year old mom, me, my sister, and her 12-year old granddaughter, but there is plenty of room for 8 to sleep comfortably. We liked this house because 3 of the BRs are on the main level and mom didn’t have to navigate the stairs. We had been warned that cell service was not great, though even WiFi calling was spotty. We were able to stream some TV the first night, but after that we could never get a reliable connection. It was nice to be unconnected and enjoy some games, plus work a puzzle that we brought. I did notice the cell service down at the lake pavilion was much stronger. We stayed the first week of June and really enjoyed the neighborhood Lake access. If you want to use the kayak and paddle boards, you’ll need a vehicle to transport them from the house. Also, don’t miss the nature trail with small waterfall just across from the lake access. The pavilion has a wonderful view, built in charcoal grills, tables, rocking chairs, and bathrooms. The roads throughout the neighborhood are unpaved, so be prepared for lots of dust on your car! The house is nicely decorated with a woodsy theme and all the furnishing are in good shape. It was very convenient for us to have two cards for gate access, and to have a key pad door entry for times when our group split up. In town, the flowering bridge is a must see! I hope we can come again.

Exceptionally clean & well appointed property. Wi-Fi very sluggish but workable. Nice wooded location but a lengthy & dusty drive in and out. The lake was very nice and the SUP’s made it all the more enjoyable. Overall a 9 out of 10!
