The cabin was even more beautiful in person. The views of the mountains were amazing. Neighbors were quiet and distant. The description says 4wd is needed in winter, I think year round would be better. We chose my car over the SUV to save gas for the trip since it was summer and regretted it. Putting the car in low gear helped but it was still a struggle getting up the mountain. It was still worth it though, amazing cabin.
A beautiful cabin secluded in the woods with beautiful views
Great views, clean home and cozy living space. Only negative would be no outside lighting for grilling at night.
Great family vacation. Property was advertised. ZERO COMPLAINTS!!! Amazing sunset views.
top of the mountain stay
The listing states Biltmore included which is very misleading. One ticket is provided but we were out of pocket for the other tickets, which cost $350 for 3 people. The 3rd party agency you go through to book the single ticket is very difficult to deal with. When I brought this up to Carolina Mornings, I was told I should have read the fine print. True, but I thought I would leave it in the review for the next person who assumes when something is included it doesn't mean an additional $350 out of pocket. There is a strong sewage smell in the basement bedroom and bathroom, mainly when the grinder pump turns on (flushing and showering). The management company couldn't reproduce the smell after we left, but trust me, it's there. We built a fire in the stove-fireplace with the flue open but the room filled up with smoke and the smell of burning plastic. We immediately choked the fire and, again, maintenance couldn't reproduce this but I would advise against using the fireplace. The cabin is otherwise nice with a pretty view but we definitely won't be returning.
We enjoyed our trip. Property was very nice.
Overall the stay was great. We booked this property for the Christmas period, and it would have been nice if the property owner had put some Christmas Lights and decorations for the holidays. Even though we have requested it from the rental company, it was up to the owner to follow through, and they have not done it. After booking, we received a list of guidelines which could be overwhelming for some, and some details could be missed. We stayed during that freeze period, and luckily we brought some wood for the inside wood-burning stove. The guidelines state that you have to bring your own. Overall, cleanness was good, even though we found some dirty linen, but clean replacement linen was available at the property that we could change, so we did that, and I didn't reduce the cleanness score.
Property was spacious and comfortable, exactly as advertised. The drive getting up to the top of the mountain is challenging but totally worth it. The views are great, we saw deer and turkey near the house. We would stay here again for sure.
Lovely spot, amazing sunsets and views. Property lacks good lighting and some amenities (a real coffee maker would be nice). Hot tub was great. Bed pillows need upgrading.
We loved this place! The views from 4400 feet up was amazing. Like many other reviews I would recommend 4wd just in case but a friend of ours drove a 2wd car and didn't have to many issues. Would definitely recommend.
The rental is in need of attention, strong mildew smells in master king suite, water marks on the walls, animal noises in the walls or ceilings.
My husband and I really enjoyed this property. The cabin was clean and cute with awesome views. The kitchen was well stocked making preparing dinner easy and we loved having dinner out on the deck. Our favorite amenity was the hot tub with Mountain View’s; was the perfect getaway!
