We had a great stay! We didn’t want to leave and will be looking to return soon. The cabin had plenty of comfortable places to sit, which is becoming increasingly rare in VRBOs for some reason, and equally good options for a comfortable night’s sleep. The kitchen was well stocked with necessities for cooking for a weekend away. The only thing we lacked was a blender for morning smoothies but we managed to come up with quieter things to eat just fine. We were warm in the cool temperatures and as I have trouble with asthma, it was nice not to have to burn wood for warmth- there are two electrical fireplaces that kept us warm. There is a charming wood burning fireplace in the kitchen though. I was tempted because it’s been a long time since I’ve had a fire burning in the kitchen. The other benefit was that the inside of the house did not smell of smoke, again for my asthma issue. Parking was easy and even though the house is close to the street, we didn’t hear any noise or neighbors for that matter. The house is like 3 minutes from downtown. Big fenced back yard too. We enjoyed having a washer and dryer handy to toss wet towels in to dry. Everything was easy from check in, the tvs, the heat instructions. All and all, we couldn’t have been happier. Thank you!

Clean property and very relaxing stay. We visited as it was getting colder at night and the house felt cozy and homey so we slept soundly. The fenced-in backyard was perfect for our pups and it’s located near the town center. Would recommend!

Great place. From the warm, cozy environment, to the huge yard, that my doggies loved. The bed was just right for this Goldilocks with back arthritis. The heater/fireplaces in the bedroom and livingroom were perfect for setting a mood and warmth. The location is great for a trip to town and also for a trip to Palm Desert. I grew up in the Poconos in Pennsylvania and this charmer took me back in time to childhood memories. Thanks for that. I’ll be back.

Had a very quiet and relaxing stay. Exactly what we were looking for.

We’ve stayed here several times now and it’s where we’ll continue to stay when we visit. It’s always clean and comfortable, quiet, and a nice backyard for the pup. it’s close to town and you can take a short walk to a coffee / breakfast spot down the road in the morning. It’s a perfect place to stay.

Host is awesome, quick to respond, accommodating, and informative. Chose this place for my pup because it has an enclosed back yard. I mention the following, which is subjective, because it would have been info I'd have liked. The place feels a little overpriced for what you get. Located on a main road of the neighborhood, so slightly more street noise than I would have preferred. Firewood pile in the back, is exactly that, a messy pile that definitely needs cleaning up and organizing. I didn't even see a tarp cover that is mentioned for it to be covered.As per a review I read about not being able to get the place warm enough. There is a thermostat heater in the living room, a real wood fireplace in the kitchen, a heater in the bathroom and two individual heaters in the bedroom. At one point I got so warm in the bedroom, I had to turn one of them off, and the other on low.

We had a wonderful stay. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. It was cozy without feeling cramped, and the location was close to town while still feeling peaceful and relaxing. The beds were very comfortable, and we especially loved that our furbaby was able to run around and enjoy the backyard. Communication with the host was easy and clear, and they provided great recommendations on where to eat and sip nearby. Overall, it was a great weekend getaway and we would absolutely stay here again.

We truly recommend staying at Whispering Pines. Our little family of 4 decided to get away from the busy city life and spend Christmas 2025 in Idyllwild. This cabin was the perfect place! It was rustic, cozy, beautiful and fully equipped. Everything we wished for and more! Jay was an amazing host. He gave us great recommendations. Communication was great throughout our trip. We will definitely stay again in the future!

Our family of 4 loved the cabin! Our toddler and dogs had a great time running in the backyard. Everything you need is provided in the cabin with clear directions on all appliances. We’re already planning our return!

We had a great stay in Idyllwild! The cabin was cozy and well equipped so we had everything we needed. Our host, Jay, was great with communication and giving tips on restaurants, hiking trails and local walks to keep us and our fur baby entertained and well exercised. Would definitely stay again.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful, and your cabin was charming & homey in the best possible way. Our two little terriers loved the big backyard (10 times bigger than ours at home) and we all delighted in watching the scrubjays and squirrels from the deck. My two older sisters paid us a visit (we lost our parents 2 years back so this mini-reunion was very healing for all of us). Many thanks from us all; we would love to return asap :)

Pet friendly - but keep in mind that there are stairs leading to the yard so if you have an older dog or a dog with a hip issues that might be an issue- BUT you can go around the side of the house and you will only have a few steps. Nice cabin , quiet neighborhood. Jay is great to communicate with.

This property is AMAZING! So much space, fully stocked and close to town. Great communication with Jay, the owner. It was like home away from home. Already planning for a return trip!

It was a very relaxing and restful stay. The cabin is very cozy. I really like that the hosts are so pet-friendly. Jay is also very accommodating and lets you know of plenty of things to do in the area. The cabin was stocked with everything you could need in the kitchen, and the rooms are all very well furnished/decorated.

We loved this cabin so much! Our pups spent so much time just smelling and exploring the fenced back yard! The cabin was clean and very comfortable. We spent a lot of time walking around during the day and it was nice to come back and relax with popcorn and hot chocolate and a movie on tv. Our host, Jay was very communicative and accommodating. The space is pretty big if it's just you and your partner. Layla and Suki loved the yard and the fire pit being in the center of it was legit. The place is super close to town and all of the bigger trails. Jay and Darlene were such great communicators and their recommendations are absolutely solid. 10/10 will be staying here again to check out more of the area.

Just amazing! Had a wonderful time, our dogs as well. We enjoyed the drive up with the snow flurries, just so nice to disconnect from everyday life. The VRBO was as described, so charming and very pet friendly. Has every amenity needed if you were going up there to wing it. Very close to town. Everything explained about cabin. Jay the owner communicates promptly if there are any questions. Will go again in Fall!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful and quaint cabin! The wooden features and charming decor made it feel so warm and inviting. Everything was spotless and ready for us when we arrived, and the hosts were incredibly kind—leaving us thoughtful touches like protein bars. The location was perfect, just minutes from downtown and the trails, making it easy to explore. Our dog absolutely loved it too! Plus, the provided games and puzzles were such a fun bonus. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would absolutely come back. Highlyrecommend.

We've stayed at Jay's place a couple times now and it's always the perfect, relaxing place to get away for a couple days. It's clean, quite, great location. There's a comfy bed and a big living room. Most importantly, there's a big fenced in back yard for the pup to run around. I think he loves it the most! We will continue to stay here when we visit Idyllwild. Thanks again!

We had a wonderful time at this vacation home. It is a great place, the landlords were very nice to us and communicated lots of things and details, which is something we appreciated. We had a wonderful time at this cabin.

Property is on a fairly busy road, but the enclosed backyard is excellent. My 2 dogs loved playing in it. Cabin is 1.5 miles to downtown Idyllwild, so convenient for restaurants, market, and other retailers. This was my 2nd visit and sure I'll be back.

We spent two nights at Whispering Pine and really liked it; it's not a fancy place but it has everything you need. Jay, the owner, is highly responsive. If you want a weekend break, try this place; you will enjoy it.
