Imagine spending your vacation getaway in a secluded log cabin tucked away in a private forest of native mountain laurel and flowering rhododendrons. This charming log cabin is only a short drive to downtown West Jefferson and offers the convenience of nearby attractions and activities for your enjoyment. No matter what the season of the year – Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter – there’s plenty of opportunities for you to enjoy nature at her finest!
Outdoor lovers will especially enjoy the proximity to Blue Ridge Parkway and New River. You might enjoy hiking, camping, horseback riding and photography along hundreds of miles of well-marked trails. Or perhaps bring (or rent) a rod and reel to try your hand at catching some delicious fresh trout from a rippling mountain stream and cooking it for dinner. If you like being on and in the water, you can canoe, kayak, or float down the historic New River for a fun-filled two hours or an entire day. Bicyclists will find plenty of routes to take; one of the most popular is the nine-mile riverside route that also follows the old railroad tracks between Todd and Fleetwood just steps away from the cabin.
If you’ve got more of a downtown inclination, be sure to check out the many fine and unique shops, boutiques, galleries, coffee shops and restaurants that bring central West Jefferson alive each and every day. Check out the weekly Farmers Market, monthly Art Stroll, and quarterly performances done by the local Ashe County Little Theatre. From Spring through the Fall seasons, weekends are filled with a variety of music, craft and BBQ food festivals.
With three bedrooms and two full baths, the cabin can nicely accommodate six people. Cook your meals in a fully-equipped kitchen or on the charcoal grill, and enjoy the living area complete with wood burning fireplace. Modernists will appreciate the internet TV service, DVD player and movie library, and high-speed Internet.
After all your adventures downtown and out in the wilds of the High Country, you’ll surely appreciate relaxing by the river or setting on the rocking chair covered front porch of the Laurel Ridge Log Cabin and its romantic old mountain charm. You’ll find everything you need just waiting for you to arrive and settle in.
Cozy, clean and in great location. Beds and living room furniture were comfortable, which are important to us. We enjoyed our stay.
Fantastic.
It was wonderful and beautiful! Beautiful cabin, very clean!
The setting of the cabin surrounded by trees with leaves of every color was breath taking. The cabin was beautiful, comfortable and so clean. It had a well equipped kitchen and we also enjoyed the outside grill and fabulous firepit. I would stay here again and again.
We had a very relaxing and peaceful vacation. The hosts were great with communicating with us and made our stay very pleasant. The house was cozy and perfect for a nice family getaway. If you are looking for that kind of vacation this is the place for you
My family enjoyed it. Very lovely cabin & enjoyed the peacefulness.
Lovely cabin within earshot of the river. Beautifully tucked away from the noise, oh so peaceful. The hosts are exceptional in their communication!
Location to activities was perfect. House was clean and secluded. Only complaint the kids had was that the house creaked a lot and was loud at night.
Excellent location - easy access to Boone, West Jefferson, and Blowing Rock. Right up the hill from the New River, but not super easy access. Very comfortable and overall great vacation spot!
The cabin was absolutely beautiful. Very clean! My girlfriends and I had a fabulous time. Thank you so much!
Cabin was fantastic. Great supplies, clean. Very nice location. Remote but not desolate. Plenty of privacy and near great places to hike or fish. Fireplace was a life saver since it rained our entire two day visit. Even then, perfect little getaway close to Boone and decent fishing though we could not fish for more than 15 minutes. So the trip was not what we had planned but we cooked, had great WiFi and streamed Netflix, and the home was well supplied with towels and other nice supplies like paper towels and garbage bags. Would certainly return. The little bridge to the home was almost overcome by the monsoons but I don’t think that would be a regular occurrence. Def suggest you want to arrive in the daylight and once you figure it out coming and going at night is not a problem. Communication with owners was easy. Very organized and detailed instructions on what and what not to do. So much better than local hotels, but not cheap. Nor should it be for what you get. I would have loved firewood to have been included —that would have made things easier —and next time I’d order some in advance. Maybe that’s an option they can add for future guests even though they have a sign on the fridge door about a neighbor who sells wood—they unfortunately did not reply probably because the wood was soaking wet. So no complaints —they had no control of the insane amount of rain. But we were warm, and dry and loved our brief stay.
Log cabin was beautiful. Very clean and great location. Owners were exceptionally helpful and prompt to respond to any questions I had. This is a must stay you will not regret.
Our 4th year in a row…never disappoints!
Communication with the owners was great and helpful! Most importantly to me, the house was super clean, tidy and well stocked. Thanks for making this a great experience for my family's annual mini holiday vacation:)
One of the nicest and cleanest places ever. Was a wonderful experience. Loved the location, the home, and want to say thank you to the owners. Can't ask for better people to rent from. A total 5 out of 5 property.
My son, 2 grandsons (ages 7 & 10) and myself enjoyed a 3-day weekend at cabin. Cabin was super clean & just as described-no surprises! Grandkids enjoyed gem mining near Boone, the Ashe County Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch, walking the property & fires every night at the fire pit. Highly recommend for a mountain getaway! Lovely home. Beautiful area. Highly recommend!
We loved the cabin! It was very clean and very secluded. Our daughter loved the little neighborhood cat that visited us daily! We will definitely rent this cabin again in the future.
Communication with owners was quick, positive, and seamless, even when we managed to get ourselves locked out. Everything was great!
Cabin was very clean and comfortable. West Jefferson and Boone were both a short drive. The local cat visited us every day and was very friendly. The area is very beautiful and filled with Christmas tree farms.
Enjoyed a relaxing stay at your cabin. Good location for Boone and Blowing Rock. Fishing was good as well.
The cabin is very clean and nicely furnished. Rental process very easy. The owners checked on us via email. Nice folks. Great experience and we plan to visit again.
Perfect cabin for a weekend of fly fishing! Dale was very helpful with questions and recommendations about surrounding areas. We really enjoyed our time here!
