This Idyllwild bungalow is decorated in the style of the arts and crafts period. We like to call it 'The Stickley Cabin', after the famous maker of arts and craft style furniture.
It is in the Fern Valley section of Idyllwild, which means that it is lovely, close to town while feeling miles away.
The large yard means you'll feel a real sense of privacy and serenity.
Appropriate for 1 or 2 couples. Warm, inviting, calm. One bedroom, one large bath, a fireplace, two large decks, and dog friendly. There is a bonus room with a fold out bed.
We have a CD/record/tape player, and books. When we rent, we also provide a 'renter's handbook' with additional info about the cabin, the neighborhood, and local activities. We are always adding to this handbook to make it as informative and helpful as possible.

We absolutely loved our stay. From the moment we walked in, we could feel how much intention, artistry, and love went into creating this space. The whole cabin has a warm early Arts & Crafts feel. Stickley furniture, a classic Morris chair, rich woodwork, and soft incandescent lighting that makes the entire home glow. Everything feels curated, not decorated. The whole cabin feels like one big reading nook. There are cozy spots to curl up, and even a functioning record player with records from the 1920s. There is a small TV, but we never used it, this is the kind of place that makes you want to disconnect. I took my book everywhere. The balcony seating, the side-porch picnic table, by the fireplace, on the sofa, the sun room. It’s truly a book lover’s dream. The heater worked perfectly and the old-style fireplace added the perfect mountain touch. The bedroom had a firm bed which I personally love. We brought our own pillows and blankets, but the cabin provides them as well. The bathroom was surprisingly large and had gorgeous skylights that let in the morning light. The cabin is in a cute, quiet neighborhood, tucked away enough to feel secluded but still only five minutes from town and five minutes from hiking trails. Ed was incredibly kind and responsive, and you can truly feel the care they put into this home. If you’re looking for a peaceful, artful, cozy place to unwind, read, play board games, reconnect with yourself, or simply escape the noise, this bungalow is perfect.

Located in a beautiful area of idyllwild. The check-in process was super easy and the stay was a unique experience. We enjoyed looking through the old magazines and admiring the antiques. It was fun to see coyotes running around outside and all the little critters. The drive to town was very short, less than 5 minutes or so. The host was incredibly commutative and helpful and we appreciated everything! Thank you so much!

What an extraordinary find this home was for us! This bungalow is stylishly appointed with Stickley furniture and Deco/Nouveau decor. Yet with all the historic glamour, this home is simultaneously cozy and welcoming. The kitchen is well outfitted for home cooking. Truly appreciated that it is dog friendly. This was the perfect relaxing getaway for my husband and I and our little dog. It really does look as beautiful as the photos online! Such a treat!

This property is tucked away in the forest against the scenic mountainside just outside of Idyllwild. With plenty of activities in walking distance or just a short drive away, this was the perfect spot to experience the town and hike in the area. We particularly loved the record player with an eclectic mix of tunes to relax and recharge to. The host, Ed, was super responsive and helpful throughout our stay. Amazing weekend getaway.

We LOVED this place. The attention to detail on all of the furniture, art, walls, etc was amazing. It was a beautiful blend of mid-century decor with classic antiquity. I got lost in all of the beautiful photography books while chilling on the deck and watching the sunset with my partner. VERY dog friendly and the host was responsive.

We rented this house for a long weekend to enjoy some mountain hiking. The house is beautiful and fit our family of four, plus dog, very nicely. The furnishings are beautiful and interesting. I couldn't give the rental 5 stars due to arriving to find the house had not been cleaned since the previous guests and the bed still had the used bedding on it. I couldn't reach the property owner that evening to get it resolved so we had to clean the bathroom and change the sheets ourselves. My number one requirement when choosing a rental is clean so this was quite disappointing to us. If it had been cleaned properly, I would have given 5 stars. The owner did get my messages and had it cleaned the next morning and did not charge us cleaning fee in order to rectify the issue.
