Loved this small cottage for my off-peak stay. Great view of the cove, plenty of sun on the deck... the house had all amenities listed. I had a little touble with the door code upon check-in (my fault) but it was very quickly resolved for me within 2 minutes over the phone. It's tough pulling out of the driveway onto route 6, but worth it for the views! And close to so many things. I cant wait to come back. I still give 5 stars but a couple suggestions. The shower has extremely high water pressure, somewhat painful even and also causes the floor to get wet. But I used the outdoor shower when possible. Also, it's very dark, a light by the driveway would be nice for some added security.
Great!!
We absolutely loved our stay at this Charming & adorable little cottage. It was just the right size. The decor and the waterfront location was beautiful right on the Atlantic Ocean estuary of Town Cove which is safe and fun to play in. The location was perfectly situated between Orleans and Eastham, making restaurants & groceries really easy. Although it’s on hwy 6 you don’t hear or see any road noise in the cabin nor while outside in the deck hid the dock. Our highlights were 1. beachcombing at First Encounter beach at low tide. 2. We rented 2 tandem kayaks from Paddle Cape Cod & the delivered & picked them up right at the cottage for free. We paddled down to the marsh area & saw a seal and lots of interesting birds. 3. We bought a little crab trap & had fun catching green crabs with chicken legs right off the dock. Then we drove to Herring river bridge in Harwich to catch Blue crab… it was really fun. All in all it was a lovely stay, I wish we had longer and can’t wait to come back in the future.
Just want to preface this with the fact that the property managers could not have been more accommodating in the circumstances. A BIG THANK YOU TO QUINN FROM DELMAR IN HELPING. The interior was clean and cute for a beach side cottage and had everything we needed. It was the exterior that needs to get cleaned up and the roof fixed if it rains.
Comfortable, right on the water, easy kayaking
We had a nice time staying here. We had some minor issues but the owner made up for it to our satisfaction. The location is nice, with access to a dock. It is close by to a grocery store, lots of great food in the area, and access to cable and internet is always a plus. I recommend it to those looking for a comfy base of operations when out visiting the Cape
Unfortunately it was clear that the photos of this property were taken in the past when the location was in better repair. What awaited our arrival was a dirty bug covered mop on the front door next to a bucket of water and old food (no joke), a molded shower curtain, molded Window ACs that smelled terrible, a dirty coffee maker that no one should use, broken bathroom door handle and a broken screen door that I cut my hand on twice. The location is terrific, the dock was a fabulous bonus but the property for the price is in need of serious upgrades and renovations. Most of the furniture is worn-out, broken and stained. It was not so much vintage but stuff you find on the side of the road for free. Location gets a 9, the property, a 2.
Just spent a glorious week at the cottage. It is pretty small but the decor is adorable and the deck is great and allows for more living space when the weather is good. The water view is incredible. Brought our kayaks—so great with the dock right there. Lots of great beaches and restaurants nearby. Would live another week there this summer but sad to see it looks booked solid!
Nice place, good location...but a difficult driveway to get out of! We were there during the off season. The driveway is directly off Route 6. Getting in is a little tricky--youi need to put your hazard lights on about a quarter mile before you turn into the driveway. But getting out of the driveway is the hard part--when there's no traffic--no problem--but when there's traffic on route 6, it's all but impossible to make a left turn out of the driveway. And to make a right turn out of the driveway, you must be very cautious--cars coming up Ropute 6 are traveling at high speeds.
A cozy, comfortable cottage in a spectacular location, with a fantastic view of the water, and easy access to the water for kayaking or other boating. Although it is quite close to Highway 6, I was surprisingly unaware of road noise.
