The cabin was A perfect blend of an old Maine cabin with brand new bathrooms. What a wonderful combination. Nostalgia AND convenience. The updates that were done were very thoughtful. Especially liked the motion sensor lights for navigating around the house at night. The house was stocked with everything we could need. It was hard to leave the porch to explore the area. We all spent a lot of time on, and in the water and the loons, Kingfishers, eagle and osprey kept us entertained. So we were not facing due west, the sunsets were spectacular. I highly recommend 6 Moonstruck!
We enjoyed a great week up on Lovewell Pond in the charming town of Fryeburg. The location is great with close proximity to nearby North Conway, the White Mountains, and fun hikes around the Fryeburg area! The house was clean and located right on the pond. A great set up with a screened in porch overlooking the pond - the screened in porch was our main hangout! The owners included many amenities such as kayaks, canoes, floating tubes and a dock. The house is set up to handle groups or multiple familes with lots of dining tables and sleeping options - we hope to come back and bring friends!
My family of 8 stayed for a week at this spectacular cottage. The rental property had so many thoughtful details from flashlights to towels to inner tubes. We loved the porch to eat all of our meals and gather for card games and the dock, beach, grassy yard combo was excellent for reading, swimming, and yard games. We will be sure to come back for another family vacation.
Honestly, we cannot come up with anything that could have been better about this cabin. It was perfect and enjoyable in every way. It is larger than the photos portray. The outdoor lawn has so much space to play games, for kids to run around, and sit around the huge fire pit. The waterfront area is tremendous! The water levels of the pond fluctuated while we were there and both low and high waters were enjoyable, offering different kinds of fun. When we arrived the water was extremely low because of a drought and we were really fortunate to enjoy a huge, super sandy beach for the kids. We did have about 2 days of rain and about 36 hours later the water level began to rise. Although it took away some of the beachfront, the water remained shallow and the bottom still very soft, clean sand. The kids LOVED it and we sat out in our chairs to said up some sun. Heaven. We took advantage of the canoe and paddled a bit of the shoreline. We prepared all of our meals at the cabin and there was absolutely everything one could need in a kitchen. We used the grill a couple of times, it is huge. We all were able to sit together on the long table inside with plenty more overflow seating if we needed. The TWO fridges was GENIUS! The Owner's have thought of everything. There was a surplus of towels, linens, pillows and blankets. There is a washer and dryer to refresh things while you're there. It was a lovely family vacation, the adults and children had so much fun family time. We would definitely come back.
Everything we could possibly need is right here. Great space and perfect location!
This was a great vacation! The kids had a blast because the owners have literally thought of EVERYTHING! We swam, fished, hiked, kayaked, canoed, roasted marshmallows, swam, swam, and swam some more! The swing and hammocks were fun and nearby Fryeburg and North Conway had everything we could need. A perfect time was had by young and old alike - thank you!
We loved every minute at this cottage! Thank you, Hank and Mary!
The camp was clean, plenty of beds for sleeping, equipped with everything you could possibly need and the best part of all was the porch for eating, sleeping or just sitting in a rocking chair watching the loons.
This was our second family vacation in this house. Our family consisted of three generations and there was something for everyone. We enjoyed swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, canoeing and campfires at the house, and there were numerous great hikes nearby. In and near North Conway there were attractions for all ages as well as more than adequate shopping. The accommodations were comfortable and the atmosphere was restful and relaxing.
The house and property were everything we had dreamed of; private, lake access, swimming freely, comfortable beds, plenty of cookware, quiet, dock, lounge chairs. There was a wonderful scrapbook that chronicaled the renovations the owners had done. There were lots of brochures describing nearby atractions. Although we spent a lot of time 'at home' we drove from the house to Portland, then down the coast to Cape Neddick where we had a great lobster dinner at the Inn there , stopping at Kennebunk, Wells, and Ogunquit. We visited North Conway, where we renewed acquaintances with the Red Jacket Inn and walked along the main street. We canoed on the Saco and hiked to the top of Jockey's Cap and drove up Mt. Washington. We walked along the Mountain Division Rail Trail, while our daughter, who is younger, used it as a running track.
