It was the perfect cozy log cabin! We had everything we needed. It was clean and comfortable. We took walks to the lake each day. Quiet and peaceful - just what we needed.
Super cozy cabin for our family of 6. Was not walking distance to fish. Scenery was horrible. But we loved the cabin & just got to people watch every day. ?
Beautiful property!
The cabin is located in a great spot and most things were exactly as listed online. The 2 exceptions were 1) the cabin is not located as close to the lake as what appears in the online pictures and 2) the price listed was not very accurate. Due to taxes and fees it was about a 25% higher rate than the per night listing.
Good comfortable location, enjoyed the views.
Great location between Angel Fire & Red River. Recommend staying there!
The property is located walking distance from Eagle Nest Lake state park. The late and setting are gorgeous with a nice walking trail for morning runs or a walk with the dog. The cabin has three comfortable bedrooms, a nice wood burning stove, and propane gas appliances. Definitely enough space for meal prep, which is a huge plus for us. The cabin is also conveniently located between Red River, Angel Fire, and Taos ski areas (about 30 minutes, roughly, to Red River and Taos, and only 10 to Angel Fire). The one cautionary item is the property's neighborhood. This rental is maintained without junk in or around the property. However, the same cannot be said about some of the neighbors; a lot of run down trailer-like homes, some don't even appear to be habitable. Additionally, while a walk to the state park is truly just down the street (maybe 1/4 mile), beware as there are multiple loose, and sometimes mean, dogs along the way.
Well lets start with the good stuff. The cabin was adequate in size. Fire place was great, heat worked well, water pressure was great. There was plenty of blankets and pillows. Nice touch having the games and DVD's available. They left adequate fire wood as well as a fire starter for our first fire. There was shampoo, soap and conditioner samples available if we had needed them. Ok now the bad, the cabin had clearly not been deep cleaned in some time. There were cobwebs in the windows, and when I got an extra blanket down I was completely disgusted that 15-20 dead flies fell out of the blanket. (no joke) There were several flies upstairs I guess the cabin had not been aired out for some time, I am not sure since the weather was chilly. Generally as a rule I clean the kitchen and bathroom as we are leaving but there were not any cleaning supplies available. The view from the front porch is AWFUL it is basically a junky, cars broken down, just trashy looking lot. The view from the side living room window is not bad you can see the lake past the other cabins. we have stayed at several VRBO/other properties that we aren’t allowed to list think bed and breakfast and this by far is the worst cabin as far as cleanliness goes. That being said maybe this is not a tourist area and they are not used to higher expectations???? Red River is a cool little town and we will come back to the area however we will not be staying at this cabin. The price we paid was a premium so I expect cleanliness and was disappointed.
Cabin inside clean & comfortable Property / Grounds around cabin over-grown / need mowing Junkyard across the street un-expected
Very nice place. Worked well for us.
Cozy Cabin , plenty of room for 5 people . Cool nights and great day time temps . Would definitely stay here again
My favorite part was the front porch, very country and pretty. The location was great. I didn't give it A+ on the cleanliness only because most of the dishes and containers were really dirty. (Otherwise it was fine) The biggest suggestion I would give is to give home touches like the pictures show with more decorations so it feels more like home.
Enjoyed the authentic log cabin. Only drawback was nearby property which looks like a junkyard
Lovely property close to town, cabin was clean and spacious for 6 guests with room for more. Easy check-in and communication with host. Highly recommend!
