Stayed Jan 4, 2021Beautiful views and seclusion in the mountains above Maggie Valley. Maggie Valley itself is not an attractive destination--it's a strip of run down gift shops, gun stores, and cheap restaurants. But the mountains are breathtaking, and Maggie Valley is close to wonderful destinations such as the Smokies and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The house is completely clean and all the appliances work. It has a lovely fireplace and a delightful porch where you can sit and listen to the sound of rushing water from a nearby creek. However, for the price the furnishings are tired and outdated. The most disappointing aspect was the hot tub, which was so overtreated with chemicals that we developed a serious rash after using it. Our skin stung and itched for days.

Stayed Apr 7, 2026The views from this VRBO are great. The deck is nice. Maggie Valley is a lovely part of America. The drive up the driveway is fine, we have a large SUV and it fit. Don’t worry about that. The property managers are responsive and helpful. However, this is an old home that has not been updated in decades. The couch and beds and chairs are uncomfortable and it is not as clean as it could be. The floors need refinishing, the kitchen is tiny and only one setting on the washing machine can be used. The beds, which are at least 20 years old, have added pillow tops to make them more comfortable but they are not comfortable. All pillows should be replaced. It’s also a small house. You have to pack out your trash, strip the beds, and start a load of towels before you leave. I’m not sure why the cleaning fee is 200. The house is maybe 1800 sq. ft. There is also another 60 cleaning fee for the hot tub and another 56 fee (I don’t know what that is for). We didn’t have password protected WiFi for the first four days of our stay because the owner was in Europe and the property management company could not get in touch with them to password protect it. I realize some people do not care about that. But you should. No one should connect to public WiFi. I realize this is not a great review. And possibly this rental house is not geared toward me. The whole experience fell flat.

Stayed Apr 2, 2026We had a great family time together. The area hiking is top tier. Your home was very comfortable. The beds are comfy as can be. We loved loved the view porch. Everything was easy. It was a true respite away from home. Thank you.

Stayed Dec 20, 2025The view from the porch is absolutely stunning! The house is very clean and spacious. You definitely need a 4WD. We have a F250 super duty and it was a process to get up the last part of the mountain. It’s a 90 degree turn and a 5 point turn in the truck plus the road is VERY narrow our tires hung over the road. Which was nerve racking. Only one vehicle up/down at a time. So if someone else is coming the opposite direction someone’s backing up. Also area to park is extremely small for larger vehicles. But other than the road up our trip was amazing. I’d come back just for the view and the porch!! Hot tub was a major plus

Stayed Jun 11, 2025We had four generations here for a four-day stay. Beds were a little soft and most were very high for my 88 yr old mom, but the view and location made up for it. Wonderful porch for hanging out, even in the rain. Great location for short hikes together, especially with my grandson.

Stayed Apr 24, 2025We were there for a girls trip to unwind destress and catch up. The house provided all we needed (dont miss that detail about TP, like we did). The deck does not disappoint. We had brunch out there one morning, enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings and coffee in the rockers is a must. We played a ruthless game of Uno at the dining table and borrowed some books from the house library. We had a great time explorying Haywood County and we found the Train Station!

Stayed Dec 20, 2024Our family gathered from Hawaii, Colorado, and South Carolina at this beautiful property. We loved being able to do all the activities of home such as cooking meals and all sitting around the same table to eat them and then play games together. The wood fireplace was a wonderful Addition and the large back deck has an amazing view. Make sure that if there is any hint of wintry weather when you have booked your stay that you have a four-wheel-drive or you will not get into the property. We had to backtrack and stay at the Best Western in Maggie Valley until things melted off the next day. But even that was a positive experience with comfortable rooms and free breakfast. We will definitely use Carolina Mountain Vacation properties in the future when looking for a vacation rental.

Stayed Oct 26, 2024A few times a year, my best girl friends and our pups like to go on a cabin trip to relax and craft. We always try different places but this is our favorite! The view is beautiful and the porch is amazing. We only had 3 chairs at the table outside which was weird and made it a little annoying with 4 of us wanting to eat together on the porch. Rooms were great, although the front bedroom is very small (lightswitch outside bedroom and only room for a small side table). The chairs and fire pit was perfect and we loved not having a ton of stairs. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need. Wish the fridge had an ice maker with water in the door, so we were glad we brought drinks. Had an amazing time, host was great, will definitely be back. Oh and we saw an elk on our way to breakfast today!! Amazing!

Stayed Jul 20, 2024We very much enjoyed our time in Maggie Valley at this cabin. The porch and the view are spectacular and we greatly appreciated the quiet atmosphere and rest that the place affords. One of our favorite cabins we have rented so far in the area.
