ABOUT THIS SPACE
Our cabin is nestled on a little over an acre in a mountain setting with access to fishing and hiking all around. 45 minutes to Colorado Springs, 30 minutes to the historic mining town of Cripple Creek, the S. Platte River’s “Dream Stream” world class angling & fishing, the Crags, Pike’s Peak Highway & ATV’ing. Enjoy an evening outdoors, gather on the deck, wake-up to hot coffee and nature, unwind from the daily grind.

THE SPACE
Our cabin is conveniently located to all the adventures you can think of - Hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, biking, boating, and fishing.

∙ We are located only 30 minutes from Cripple Creek, where the Ice Castles will return this winter!
∙ Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument, a 5 minute drive, has been named an International Dark Sky Park and has several trails.
∙ Take a trip to Cripple Creek for gambling or spend the day exploring this historic mining town.
∙ Snowshoe and Cross-country ski at Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument, Mueller State Park, Horsethief Park and Pancake Rocks.
∙ Boat, kayak, tube, and fish at Eleven Mile Canyon Reservoir (you can actually head 10 minutes down the road to Lake George and hike the 17 mile Eleven Mile Canyon Route).
∙ Hike and bike at Mueller State Park.
∙ Dig for and keep your own 34-million year old fossils at the Florissant Fossil Quarry (summer/fall).

We have prepared this space so you can have the most relaxing stay after a long day of adventures. The beds are queen and double (full) mattresses, medium firmness. Soak up the Colorado sunshine relaxing on the deck. Cozy up by the easy-to-use pellet stove in the living room or the propane fire pit outdoors. Even enjoy the beautiful starry skies at night. The cabin has a 50-inch RokuTV with streaming capabilities but please note that there is no cable/live TV.

GUEST ACCESS
You will have exclusive access to the cabin, driveway for parking several vehicles and even an RV, and front deck with propane fire pit area. There is no garage access.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
We sit at 8,500 feet in elevation. Please note that the cabin does not have A/C. The days stay fairly cool, even in the summer, and temperatures drop at night - open up a window and enjoy the mountain breeze!

The cabin is accessible year round, but the last couple miles are via dirt roads that are well maintained by the county and plowed after snow. Please make sure you are travelling in an appropriate vehicle, especially in the winter. AWD/4WD is highly encouraged. There is plenty of parking and we can also accommodate an RV on the property.

PET FRIENDLY: This is a pet-friendly listing for up to two pets. There is an additional $75 fee for bringing a pet to cover the cleaner's time. All dogs must remain leashed - our neighbors have chickens and goats! Please be sure to clean up after your pet outside and try your best to not allow them on furniture.

There are two exterior cameras. One on the garage facing down the driveway and another on the left side of the home. This is for your safety and protection of the property. There are absolutely no cameras inside the cabin.

The cabin was in a great rural location, but still close enough to everything I wanted to do or anything I could possibly need. Great launching pad for me and my dog for all the adventures of hiking and more!

When looking for a place to stay for a couple days before heading north I was originally looking in Colorado Springs but I'm glad I considered staying further west. This property is within an hour of most anything you'd want to see in the area but is quiet and peaceful. Also had an incredible view of the stars at night. Carla was communicative and has a lovely place to stay. You won't regret booking this property.

Everything was exactly what I expected with one recommendation for improvement. The bath towels smelled of cigarette smoke. Perhaps the cleaning crew were smoking while folding or stocking the towels. Pretty unpleasant. Otherwise it was perfect!

My sister and I stayed here with my dog and loved the place. Very comfy set-up, plenty of space and stuff to do, near interesting natural attractions and beautiful scenery. We enjoyed some long walks around the area, used the kitchen to make meals, and took advantage of the tv and streaming apps while staying up later than we should.

This property is in a nice location - close to some of our favorite places to visit. We got there just in time for an arctic blast and we stayed warmer with just the baseboard heaters than we do in our own home! Didn't even have to use the pellet stove.

The location is VERY quiet. It is a close drive to hikes, fishing, and restaurants in Florissant and Divide.

Always happy with quiet…enjoyed wine around the fire pit and were entertained by the stars. Located close to where we were visiting and then headed the next day.
