Deerwood Station- Relax in Our Beautiful Guest Cabin!

This cabin is a wonderful spot to explore the local national forest or go skiing at Snowy Range. The cabin is clean, comfortable, and stocked with everything you need for your stay. Seeing the horses as you come in is a great experience. Check in was simple and timely, and the hosts are great to work with. Looking forward to coming back next year.

Deerwood Station was an absolutely perfect getaway for my small family and I. Nestled in a small town of Wyoming was our little cabin- clean, well stocked with supplies, and western theme decorated. The wild mustangs were beautiful to see in person, and a once in a lifetime experience for us Midwesterner’s. The hosts were very gracious and had accommodated an early check-in, and even gave us some tips on local attractions including Jubilee days. The hometown rodeos ended up being some of our favorite memories from this trip. A short drive from the cabin was Centennial, home of the famous bucking horses, and had a coffee shop and ice cream shop that made the most delicious homemade rhubarb ice cream. I highly recommend this cabin and host.

The cabin was very private, well stocked and decorated. The beauty of the property was wonderful ! Loved hearing all the animal noises throughout my stay. The hosts Jana & Richard were delightful. The highlight for me was the wild horse tour. They did a great job sharing their knowledge of the horses & property. I'm looking forward to another visit to this property.

A beautiful cabin with charm. The creek was 20 feet off the bac porch and was winding over rocks which created an amazing soundtrack for our stay. We enjoyed watching the horses, cattle, donkies and even a mother moose with her 2 offspring (which we gave plenty of room knowing how dangerous that situation could have been). The cabin has a nice kitchen with eat in dining table. Everything has been curated.

I booked this cabin for my girlfriend's 25th birthday. It was beautiful! The owners were lovely. The cabin is beautifully built and decorated. We also bought tickets for the horse tour which was a great experience. These folks have a lovely ranch, and it was a delight to spend a few days on it.

Best getaway yet! Slice of heaven in the valley by the mountains. All the amenities were top-notch, all while enjoying a rustic stay. The cabin is super comfortable with beautiful creek just outside that you can enjoy on the large covered deck while you grill your supper and then enjoy some s’mores over the open campfire.

So beautiful and peaceful we'd like to keep it a secret and all to ourselves. During our recent stay we immediately booked a return trip next year. A 10 out of 10!

The entire property is very well kept; the cabin was very clean and well appointed; and the owners are delightful. Be sure to take the tour of the sanctuary. We took ours with Rich, the owner, and learned so much about the horses, the process with the BLM, and much more; and we really enjoyed getting up close with the ‘wildies’ and learning about their behaviors.

We stayed a week at the Deerwood Station--3rd time here and had another great stay. Saw Fox, moose, lopers, deer, cranes and more all on property. Deerwood was a comfortable homebase for day hikes into Med Bow. Cant thank Jana & Rich enough.

What an amazing place! It was all that we expected and more. Cozy and clean cabin. Our hosts were so accommodating and very professional and friendly. We will definitely be back.

We love staying here at the Deerwood Guest house. Richard and Jana are wonderful host and the peace and quiet is what we enjoy. The location is beautiful and it is a favorite place of ours to stay. We will be back.

All my boys were depressed because it was there dream place. They asked if we could stay for week instead of 2 days. I felt the same. It was just too beautiful and perfect for farm boys who love the outdoors!

We first visited in 2022 and have come every spring break since to ski with the kids. We always have a great time. The cabin is very well stocked and a cozy place to relax. Our kids love the cabin and love seeing all the horses on the road in.

This was our second time staying at this beautiful, peaceful cabin. We are a family of 5, with kids ages 11, 9 and 4, and there was enough room for all of us. We enjoyed the serene beauty around us and seeing the wild horses as we came in and out of the property. It’s quiet and peaceful, the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of our every day lives. The hosts are great to work with and respond to any communication promptly. We would love to stay again if we come out this way in the future.

We had a great visit! The cabin and property were perfect!

My daughter and I came to go skiing for the long weekend and this cabin was in the right location, so we reserved it. We did not expect the cabin experience to be equally as amazing as the skiing! It is a gem in a beautiful, natural location! The fire in the stove greeted us upon each arrival. It was cozy and relaxing, and we enjoyed our time in the cabin as much as our time on the slopes! The views of the horses also completely took our breath away! Jana and Rich were responsive and attentive hosts. They are good communicators and quickly helped us resolve any problems or concerns we had. We truly hope to come back here again and maybe even stay longer!

Absolute heaven on earth. This lil slice was just what we needed. Although it was arctic temps…the property was seriously magical. The 350 head of wild horses really put me in my happy place. Absolutely incredible. We planned to go into town to watch the Bronco game…yet loved the absolute coziness of the cabin that we opted to stay in and watch. So happy we did. Stsnding on the back porch made me feel like I was in 1800 old west. The bed was super comfy. Everything you need and was super clean. We will be back to experience another season here. What a comfortable cabin nestled into a beautiful horse sanctuary rimmed by mountains on all sides. Simply breathtaking. We visited after Christmas and totally enjoyed the snow (coming from the Sandhills of North Carolina), but imagine the rushing stream - just outside the cabin’s patio - to be amazing to sit beside in milder weather and also to fly fish in the season. We drove up to Snowy Range and hiked in the Medicine Bow National Forest - gorgeous!Sweet Melissa’s in Laramie is delicious - we ate there twice, and the Laramie Penitentiary is worth visiting. Getting in/out of the house and communicating w the owners was easy. Thanks for a great experience!

This beautiful cabin is located on a wild horse sanctuary. You couldn’t ask for a better location, because it’s also a sanctuary for the soul. Rich and Jana are gracious hosts. The cabin has all the comforts of home and is so nicely decorated. The peace and tranquility will soothe your senses.

A beautiful retreat to reset, and cleanse, body and mind. Just sitting on the back deck listening to The Little Laramie River and breathing clean, sweet smelling air was rejuvenating. And the rainbow show after early evening showers was spectacular!

Another great stay at Deerwood, thanks to the exceptional hosts, and wonderful setting. Saw elk, deer, moose and of course the wildhorses all on property.

We loved staying in the cabin. It was the perfect get away for our anniversary. Very comfortable and peaceful. We will do it again, next time for more days so we can do the horse tour. Thanks.

Loved this place for it's beauty and serenity. The back deck is so relaxing with the sound of the creek. We enjoyed the firepit every evening and ate hot dogs and s'mores. Took many walks to see the wild mustangs in the fields.

Greatest little piece of Heaven

My husband and I have been married for 50+ years. We met and married in Wyoming, and our first daughter was born there. We've spoken about taking a trip back, but this was the first time we've returned since moving to Indiana to be near family. We opted to stay in the Laramie area over where we lived in Cheyenne since we wanted a quiet area to stay and we were returning during Cheyenne Frontier Days. We chose Deerwood Station based on the reviews and it did not disappoint! Beautiful property in a beautiful setting. Jana did her best to make us feel welcome and comfortable. She is the dream hostess and we can't say enough good about our experience there! We highly recommend a trip here if you visit Wyoming. Exceptional in every way!
