Beautiful crafted Montana cabin with fantastic Mountain View’s set this place as a retreat getaway. Complete your vacation with this “Montana” outdoor experience. With over 2100 sq ft of living space placed on six acres of old growth larch and fir trees, this family homestead land is only one mile from the Glacier National Park entrance.

Enjoy evening campfires and the reason they call this the Big Sky Country! Hiking, biking, rafting, golfing and fishing are almost right out the front door. (This property is not on a river or a lake as described by VRBO due to recent AI descriptions. VRBO notified us that this cannot be changed. Our proximity is minutes away from lakes, a river and a golf course. See map location). After an active day of fun, relax in the newly installed open air Hot Tub.

We are one half mile from public access on the famed Middle Fork River and The West Glacier Golf Course. You can bike into the park to Apgar from the property on bike trails. (4 mountain bikes provided) or have a close base camp for the many scenic hikes within Glacier National Park.

This private cabin is equipped with conveniences of satellite television and WIFI while maintaining the cabin feel with a craftsman like detail to attention. Log beds and end tables crafted from trees harvested on the property truly make it one of a kind.

Enjoy an evening barbecue on the spacious front deck while enjoying the beauty of the mountains. Soak in the seven person Hot water Spa after a day of hiking from your private and personal elevated deck. Take an evening walk and catch a view of area wildlife or stay home or see them from the deck! Huckleberries have been in our front yard many years.
Rafting, fishing and biking outfitters are close by.

Great Northern Railway chairman of the board Louis Hill dubbed the rugged mountains of Glacier National Park America's Alps. Between 1909 and 1913, the Great Northern Railway constructed the Belton Chalet complex under Hills direction. It was the first of the Great Northern Railway's sprawling hotels to serve Glacier National Park created in 1910. (Montana Historical Society)

This is the origin of the current location of West Glacier. 100% of the community is within 1/4 mile of the railroad. Thousands of tourists descend on this sleepy little railway town every year and we are very proud of our friendly mountain home and family heritage. The Belton train depot is still active and tourists can be shuttled from the station to Park locations on the historic Red Buses that have been completely restored. Maybe consider reserving a tour through Glacier Park with the Red Bus tours, it has high reviews.

Local must see hotspots would include Flathead Lake, Bigfork, Whitefish Mountain and the Great Bear and Bob Marshall Wilderness areas.

We had a spectacular time visiting Glacier National Park, and it started with checking into this wonderful cabin. It is located perfectly for a GNP trip, and in a very quiet and peaceful location. It was exactly as described and very clean. It was the most equipped VRBO we have ever seen. The owners think of all kinds to make your stay, from the welcome basket packed with goodies. All kinds of kitchen accessories and small appliances. The hot tub was pristine. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms had toiletries and plenty of towels. A young buck walked by one day and a die with two fawns walked by another day. From the back deck there is a lovely view of the mountains. The bikes are in great shape and a nice touch though we didn’t get to use them as we were so busy hiking, riding horses, trekking with llamas, boating, swimming, and generally exploring the whole area. The owners were very responsive and the attention they give to the cabin to make your stay comfortable is the best we have ever had.

Perfect location to get into the west entrance of glacier national Park. Cute little local community surrounding the home. The home itself was beyond expectations. Very well appointed very comfortable very private and communication with the hosts was superb

This was a perfect house for our family to explore Glacier and surroundings! It was immaculately clean, spacious, beautiful Mountain Views and conveniently located, yet private. The home was beautifully decorated and well kept - better than we expected and more beautiful than the photos! I would highly recommend this home!

Loved being so close to Galcier entrance yet still having privacy. Many amenities provided by our attentive hosts. A lovely “cabin” that feels more like a well equipped home. Well done!!

Location! The “neighborhood” entrance is in West Glacier Village right by the park entrance but the house feels like it’s completely separated from the world. It’s easy to pop into one of the towns for groceries or a meal. The kitchen is the most well appointed of any place I’ve stayed. It had everything (down to small things like storage containers, enough ice, colander, there was even a stand mixer tucked away). Cookware and appliances were very high quality. Bedrooms were comfortable and well appointed. There was proper clothes storage if you don't want to live out of the suitcase. Or, if your husband thrives on living from a two-foot-high mountain of clothes piled in the suitcase, then they have suitcase stands in every room. Two separate living areas help with noise control for people on different sleep schedules. All windows had functional blinds to manage light (important for sleep if you’re getting up super early). It was the details that put it over the top. Décor and home goods were not leftovers scavenged from who knows where. Showers had HOT water. They didn’t have their own weird personal stuff stuck in every drawer and closet. Every inch is designed for the guests. It’s clean! No bugs despite being in the “woods”. You save money on meals cooked at home. You can pack lighter b/c of washer and drier. Time is the most critical resource in beating crowds into the park and this place is perfect for enabling that.

Nice wooded location in West Glacier right outside of Glacier National Park. We loved that it was very convenient for access to park. House had everything we could need in amenities. Number and location of bedrooms and bathrooms suited our family very well.

We rented this house to visit Glacier National Park. It is located right in the heart of everything on the West Entrance. You can get in and out of park very easily. There is a cute little village you can bike or drive to very quickly with restaurants, shops and activities. Most of your rental stuff is there as well including rafting and fishing. Also a beautiful golf course right down the road.

We have stayed at dozens of VRBO’s around the globe but none as wonderful as this beautiful cabin in the woods. It is meticulously maintained and was the perfect size for our family of 5. It could not be more perfectly located so close to the entrance of West Glacier. The owners make you feel welcome from the moment you book their VRBO. Their attention stays throughout your visit.

The house was beautiful! Very well stocked. They thought of everything. Very clean. Gorgeous view. We were disappointed because on the listing it says on the water, on the lake, kayak and that is the reason I chose this property over some others we were looking at and it is not on the water. The property owners couldn’t have been nicer answering my endless questions and making sure we were comfortable. They had a thorough and helpful welcome packet and checked in with us. Overall, it was wonderful!

This cabin was absolutely a home away from home. There was everything you could possibly need provided along with things you wouldn’t even think of. Property was secluded giving the feel of peace and tranquility, yet less than 5 minutes to town. Everything was immaculate, down to the bbq pit. Decor also added to the cozy log cabin feel. Beds very comfortable. Spacious for spreading out or enjoying family time together inside or out. The welcome basket was such a thoughtful and heartfelt gift, full of local and practical items to enjoy. A deer walked up to us while making s’mores at the fire pit:). Truly so grateful to Richard & Shelly for providing the perfect place to spend our family vacation. Look forward to returning!
