You're approx ~15 minutes from the picturesque Mabry Mill, quaint town of Meadows of Dan, and hiking spots such as the scenic Devil's Den Nature Preserve. ~20 minutes to downtown Hillsville for restaurants and groceries. ~25 minutes from local wineries.

SUPPLIES:
We provide basic cleaning supplies and dish soap, as well as a starter kit of paper towels and toilet paper. Bed linens and towels are also provided, along with the amenitites you'd expect such as hand soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. For longer stays, you may want to bring a few extra towels and toiletries. We stock a starter kit of k-cups, creamer and sugar along with basic cooking oils and spices.

If you wish to use the firepit or charcoal grill please bring along firewood and charcoal, starter, etc.

- There is another cabin on the property just beyond this cabin about ~40 feet away. This is a separate space but you may see other vehicles coming or going past the cabin in the shared driveway. The spaces are separated with a large pine tree and a carport between them. Refer to photos for the layout of the property.

- The cabin is small and with that, has a small water heater. It's rated to last for 1-2 standard showers. If you take a long hot shower, you may run out of hot water and need to wait for it to heat back up (~1 hr) so plan accordingly to space out showers if you have multiple people showering and conserve hot water (ex: wait to wash dishes until after showering).

- *** BURN RESTRICTIONS*** Please note that from February 15 - April 30th, the Virginia Department of Forestry restricts burning until after 4pm, which includes open-air fire (no use of the fire pit and charcoal grill during restricted times). Burning is allowed between 4:00pm and midnight so long as the burner takes precautions and attends to the fire at all times.

- The creek is usually shallow unless we have a lot of rain and is best enjoyed from the decks or in the meadow/at the fire pit. Enter at your own risk and use caution as the banks can be steep.

- The cabin has no central air conditioning or heating. There is a window AC unit installed in warmer months. It is warmed with a propane heater in cooler months and an electric heater in the bedroom. The space is only about ~400 sq feet but may be chilly or warm upon arrival depending on the weather. Turn on the heaters or AC in the bedroom to quickly warm or cool the space.

- The driveway is gravel and runs along the hillside to get to the cabin. If you're used to rural roads you may think nothing of it, but if it's your first time on the driveway, you may want to arrive in daylight to acclimate. It's not very long but it does slope at an incline to get down to the cabin from the main road. There is only parking for one vehicle and the parking space is just slightly larger than your average parking lot spot.

My husband and I loved staying here. The weather was perfect during our stay, and the cabin was truly cozy. The rustic-meets-mid-century-modern decor, with a touch of boho, was great. We also enjoyed other great details, such as the fence insulators used as door knobs.

Great little cabin. Can leave the door open and listen to the stream. Small but everything you need for a quiet, peaceful getaway.

Tucked between the curvy back roads and rolling hills. This little place did not disappoint. At only 400 sq feet they have made a solid and quaint little get away that we unwillingly had to leave. Perfect couples get-away. I was in awe of all the sweetest little touches. The firepit by the creek, we made use of both nights we were there, so beautiful and peaceful. Amazing place! Will definitely be going back again and again!

I would return to this property - especially in early spring and in the fall. It was lovely to sit on the deck and hear the stream below. I wish we could have stayed longer! Instructions for operating heaters would be helpful. The steep driveway to the cabin was manageable, but you should read the owners instructions before heading in; I was glad we arrived in daylight! The LR chairs were more comfortable if you used bed pillows with them.

We absolutely loved our stay here. From the supplies provided, to the creek, to the wild grapes we kept getting whiffs of. We brought our dog and she loved running in the field. I found some ghost pipe under the trees which was cool. There were wild flowers next to the cabin which drew in butterflies and hummingbirds! The cabin was so clean when we arrived. The cleaning supplies used/provided were clean ingredients. I would definitely recommend this cabin/host to anyone and visit again!

My wife and I are about to have twins and we wanted a quick getaway for some relaxation before the chaos starts. This was such a nice stay and loved listening to the creek! It was well stocked and nicely decorated.
