This COULD be a cute and cozy cabin experience and for the majority of our stay it was. But when first arriving and looking for the bed we wanted to sleep in (the king) we we're disgusted to find dirty sheets piled up on it with one appearing to have a red stain! (blood, wine, ?) And in another bedroom, one twin bed had a similar pile of dirty sheets. We found a stack of clean sheets and a few extra towels piled on a kitchen chair but none of them were a king size set. There were 2 queen flat sheets we managed to make the king bed with, but I have to ask...WHY?Could we have washed them in the laundry stack? Yes but again I have to ask... WHY? Why am I paying a cleaning fee for a dirty cabin? I have other cleaning issues, (it seems every where we looked something else was discovered)-Leftover hair in the shower drain, a wet load of clean towels to have to dry ourselves, a broken kitchen chair (safety issue, insurance liability), previous renter's chocolate cake in container wedged between refridgerator and wall, no regular TV channel service-only able to watch dvds, kitchen garbage can still full and bag of recyclables left there also. We spoke to Tanya from vacasa the day we arrived and she said they would waive our cleaning fee, which was nice. I'm just sorry such a cute, obviously well-loved family inherited mountain cabin wasn't fully cleaned for our stay. The gas faux woodstove was really very good at keeping us toasty, no plumbing issues!
Super Cute and Cozy! 2 minute walk to the store and restaurants. LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Will Stay Again!
We had a great time. Great location. The place is old but well maintained. The stairs to the bedrooms are very steep but nice grab bars all the way down.
close to town
Home was exactly as described. Checkin checkout were super easy. Great location in Govy.
Overall good stay. Arrival late in evening was a little difficult. So much snow and no way in the house, no parking and fireplace didn't work. After a couple hours house did get warmed up with other heaters and we borrowed neighbors shovel to make a path. House worked well for the 3 of us. Wallpaper is great in the kitchen. Beds ok. Was clean. Spoke with someone about fireplace and they were going to fix it. Need a shovel and someone plowing out a parking spot (like some of other residents around there) would be nice. Overall though would recommend
We terminated our stay prematurely (despite amazing snow and skiing) after being threatened by a resident in a neighboring home. Access to the house was blocked with four feet of snow. The home didn't have a shovel on site. We had no way to remove the snow. This created a potentially dangerous situation. The response of the property management company was there was nothing they could do. We had to haul luggage and food repeatedly through deep snow. It was clear no one had recently checked the property. Ther was no parking anywhere near the house. Two cars were parked adjacent to the house. We notified the rental company. We heard nothing back. We had to park distant from the property, then waded through deep snow without access to a shovel. We were The gas stove did not work and the cabin was freezing cold. Management said someone would arrive on the property and help with the stove. No one showed up. The person at the call center was not able to assist us and did not seem to be able to visualize the set up for the stove. The heater in the kitchen didn't work for the first 2 days. The towel rack in a bathroom fell off when I removed a towel. It was clear this had been patched multiple times and the towel rack fixture had been installed crookedly. The outlet in the main bedroom near the bed did not work. The light over the stove did not work. We were threatened to be towed despite a snow park pass.
Excellent location. Comfortable stay at a good value.
Great location to Mount Hood. Cute town. Woodsy location. Rustic cabin. Stairs are steep. If you are not agile, this location isn't for you. No complaints, just a couple of items to fix or improve on. Top element in the oven and throw rug in front of kitchen sink need to be replaced. Kitchen floor needs scrubbed. We would definitely stay here again.
Great cabin. A trip back in time! Quaint and cozy with awesome mountain history and relics. One feed back item would be to add cutlery (metal forks, spoons, knives) instead of plastic take out cutlery.
Very cozy, old-time charm. Bedrooms small but comfortable. Good amenities and close to town.
The kids loved the cabin decor. My daughter stated that it was like staying in the “old fashioned times” lol. Lovely place with all we needed for playing in the snow including sledding opportunities right behind the house. Only difficulty was that when the snow is high the parking by the house is not available do you will need to find a place on government camp rd to park.
