Grayling, Michigan
About Covid-19 and our cabin. Our cabin is secluded and nestled in the woods on 3 acres. The nearest neighbors are more than 150 feet thru the woods. We have ALWAYS been completely disinfecting our cabin, bedding, linens, etc.. with a powerful germicide that is effective against virtually every type of virus and bacteria including the human coronavirus. In times like these it's nice to be able to get away to a safe place and enjoy nature and our cabin offers just that-- a safe and secluded place to chill for a while.
For added protection for our guests we have a 1 day block period before and after a guest arrives to give plenty of time for our disinfecting to do it's job.
You are going to love this sweet little northern Michigan getaway located on 3 acres and adjoining thousands of acres of Wakeley lake area federal and with miles of hiking trails. Lots of great fishing and swimming lakes close by. But-- the main attraction to this location is the famous Au Sable River mainstream-- just 500 yards from the cabin. This river is nationally known for its world class fly fishing for brown, rainbow, and brook trout.
The Au Sable river is also a popular destination for canoeing, kayaking, and tubing with several local rental liveries in grayling.
Cabin has 2 double bed futons and a double bed air mattress that can be used if needed to sleep up to 6 guests. The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen with everything-- just like home. Nothing you need to bring. All bedding, towels and washcloths provided. Both charcoal and gas grills provided. Basically-- all you need to bring is your clothes, food, and drink and you are good to go!
Pet friendly. Huge yard with big campfire pit. Picnic table and lawn chairs. A great place for the kids with swing set, sandbox, yard games, basketball hoop, horseshoes, and more. Just a 500 yard walk down the road to the Au Sable river mainstream to a great spot to swim, fish, canoe, tube, kayak. Our cabin is located just 15 minutes from Grayling.
No internet service at the cabin other than Verizon cellular 4G service. No TV service, but equipped with TV/DVD/VCR player and over 300 movies. Also has Wii gaming system.
We supply 1/3 cord campfire wood for $20 when you book your stay. If you want additional wood you need to either bring your own or buy from a local source.
Our cabin is available to rent May 20 thru Oct 31, 2021
This was a great little cabin in the woods. It was quiet and cozy, the perfect place to unwind after a day of hunting. Rod is an awesome host and the cabin was stocked with everything you would need for your stay.
Multiple trips at Rod's and always a great time. A perfect location for outdoor activities.
The title says it all. The cabin was ready, clean, and ready for action. Another memorable time at the LarkInn!! Thanks, Rod!
Everything you need for a weekend enjoying everthing the Grayling area has to offer.
The Lark Inn is always comfortable, has excellent Au Sable river access nearby, and Rod is super friendly and helpful! I've stayed here several times, first with my dad, and most recently with my sister. I highly recommend this for the angler that doesn't really care for camping in a tent - the cabin is small, but very comfortable and only a short drive to the Mason Tract Trail and fishing access.
This was our 2nd time staying at this property with our 2 dogs and we had another great vacation! We love the Grayling and surrounding areas. The cabin is such a nice peaceful place to come back to after exploring. Thanks for another great stay!
This was our second stay at the Lark Inn and it couldn't have been better. Peaceful and relaxing says it all. Go forth and do likewise!
Another wonderful time at the Lark Inn. A/C worked great when we needed it. Owners always make the entire process a breeze.
My dog and I had a great time. It's a small cabin suitable for two, plus young kids or dog.Property is well kept, with a trail leading back into the woods. Short walk to the Au Sable where you can put in with a canoe or kayak if you bring one for fishing.
great property for the dogs to run and play
Loved our time at the cabin! It’s a beautiful spot we will definitely be back soon!!!
Excellent location. The Au Sauble is just a short walk down the road. The cabin sits on very nice property with trails you can walk through. We really enjoyed the firepit whi h was well stocked with wood. The cabin was very clean and was stocked with everything we needed. Plenty of space for two adults and our Golden Retriever. The host was very Accommodating and check in/out was simple. Highly recommend.
Great place to stay. Close to the river access.
Great place if you've got kids they loved the property lots to do and had fun waking down to the river to go swimming.
The cabin was simple, rustic and very cozy. It was a great place to go and disconnect from the world. Perfectly situated on a dead end road just a short hike from the amazing Au Sable river. Winston (the dog) loved running in the ferns. One item that needs to be highlighted is the amazing blanket of stars that line the sky above the cabin.
It’s like taking everything camping with you including the kitchen sink! You can stock the fridge once and dine in, pack a picnic with leftovers, or take a sack lunch on your hike! If you love to cook, you’ll love the well stocked kitchen at the Lark Inn!
Such a wonderful little spot to get a quiet sabbath away from the daily grind. Charming, clean, and did I mentioned quiet? Local restaurants, people and everyone we met was friendly. Rod is a fantastic and friendly host and we hope to return at a later date.
We had a great stay at the cabin! The cabin and property was exactly as described. The trails out the back were so nice to walk around, especially with the dogs. We loved that it included a large amount of fire wood to use. We saw amazing meteor showers our first 2 nights at the property. Lots of deer and wild turkeys. The river right down the road had a good swimming hole to cool off. The town had some good breweries and food. Lots of places in the area to check out and about an hour to Traverse city and Mackinaw city. It was an excellent stay for us!
Great place. Great people. Love it. Be back.
Had a very nice weekend at the Larkin property. Lots of goings on in nearby Grayling, what with the annual Canoe Marathon and general vacation time of the year. We spent much time exploring the environs and surrounding communities, with the afternoons and evenings saved for kicking back and relaxing. Only wish we'd had longer. Maybe next year...thanks, Rod!
We had a great time at the Lark Inn! Loved the yard, the guietness of being back in the woods and the river right down the road!
Nice, cozy little cabin, on a nice little plot of land in the woods. Great space for the kids to play, every little detail sorted out for you, like firewood being included, yard games, gas grill, etc. Short easy walk down to the river for a swim. Rod was easy to communicate with, and everything was great.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Lark Inn. Host has EVERYTHING you NEED except food, beverages and clothes. Places close enough to grab additional supplies. Au Sable River within walking distance with small launch point.. Grayling is a great little town. Got some Minnetonka moccasins for the wife at one of the locally owned shops. We have visited the area before, and The Grayling Restaurant has always been a good answer to what's for breakfast/lunch.
Nice and quiet area to celebrate graduation with friends for the weekend. We were looking for a place up north that would be quiet and enjoy the outdoors to celebrate our college graduation. Everyone enjoyed the outside setup and we used it to our advantage by grilling all day and having a bonfire that night. Friends were really excited to see a porcupine too. We also took advantage of the movie collection and played cards inside as well. The dogs enjoyed it outside and loved the trails. Rod was very accommodating and friendly.
