Welcome to The Little Chalet, a cozy wood cabin tucked into the trees of Island Park, Idaho — about 30–45 minutes from Yellowstone’s West Entrance.

This little cabin makes a great Yellowstone basecamp. After a long day exploring the park, come back, relax on the spacious deck, soak in the private hot tub under the stars, or gather around the fire pit and enjoy the quiet forest surroundings.

The Little Chalet is best suited for 1–3 adults or a small familylooking for a comfortable and peaceful place to stay near Yellowstone. It’s not a luxury lodge and not a party house — just a charming cabin with warm wood walls and classic mountain character.

Outdoor Space
One of the best parts of the cabin is the outdoor space.
• Large private deck surrounded by trees
• Private hot tub for relaxing after a day in Yellowstone
• Fire pit area perfect for evening campfires and stargazing
• Peaceful forest setting

It’s a great place to enjoy morning coffee, listen to the wind in the trees, or unwind after a day of exploring.

Location
The cabin is located near Mack’s Inn in Island Park, with easy access to many local favorites:

• Yellowstone National Park (West Entrance) – about 40–45 minutes
• Big Springs & Johnny Sack Cabin
• Henry’s Lake
• Island Park Reservoir
• Earthquake Lake
• ATV trails, fishing, hiking, and boating

The property sits in a quiet wooded cabin neighborhood. It feels peaceful and forested, but there are neighboring cabins nearby.

Sleeping Arrangements
The Little Chalet is a compact cabin with an open layout.
Loft Sleeping Area
The loft features a comfortable queen log bed and a cozy ceiling that slopes down along the sides. You can stand comfortably in the center, but getting into bed is a little snug — most guests climb in from the foot of the bed or carefully along the side.

It has a fun treehouse-style feel that many guests love.

Guests with mobility concerns may find the loft challenging.

Main Level
• Queen sleeper sofa
• Best for 1 adult or 2 children

The living and sleeping areas share the same open space except for the loft.

Kitchen (Simple & Functional)
The studio kitchen works well for simple vacation meals and includes:
• Mini fridge with small freezer
• Microwave
• Toaster oven
• Dishwasher
• Garbage disposal
• Basic cookware and utensils
• Dining table seating for 4–5 (cozy seating)

Great for breakfast, packed lunches, and simple dinners.

Bathroom & Laundry
• Full bathroom with shower
• Washer and dryer available
• Standard residential hot water tank (spacing showers helps ensure everyone has hot water)

♨️ Private Hot Tub
The outdoor hot tub comfortably fits 2–3 guests and is perfect after a long Yellowstone day.

We simply ask guests to:
• Shower before use
• Keep the cover on when not in use
• Respect quiet hours

Parking
• One designated parking area
• Shared driveway with the neighboring cabin
• Space for standard vehicles

The space is not designed for large trailers.

Great Fit For
✔ Couples
✔ Small families
✔ Yellowstone explorers
✔ Fishing trips
✔ Guests who enjoy cozy forest cabins

Not Ideal For
✖ Large groups
✖ Guests expecting resort-style luxury
✖ Parties or events

Rental Agreement & Security Hold
We use an Airbnb-approved rental agreement and standard security hold.
The security hold works like a hotel authorization. It is not a charge, just a temporary hold that is released after checkout once the cleaning team confirms there is no damage or missing items.

This is a cozy cabin in a forest setting, so you may occasionally notice pine needles, snow, wildlife, or other normal signs of nature that come with staying in the woods.

❤️ Final Thoughts
The Little Chalet is small, cozy, and full of personality. The loft has treehouse vibes, the hot tub is relaxing, and the forest setting makes it easy to unwind.

If you’re looking for a comfortable cabin close to Yellowstone and Island Park adventures, we’d love to host you.

This is definitely a little cabin in the forest. The owners were very responsive to a few hiccups at the beginning of our stay, and problems were remedied by the next day, which I really appreciated. The property itself is well equipped and does include a personal hot tub. I would like to add the couch/bed is not a queen, more a full and would have been more comfortable with a thicker pad or air mattress. The couch does convert to a bed but remains a bit lumpy due to this. Nevertheless my teen son was comfortable enough. It is well stocked with appliances. Check in and check out was easy

Overall, we were satisfied with our stay. The cabin appeared to be recently updated and was very attractive however it seemed more geared for younger guests rather than us senior citizens. The main floor was poorly lighted; we actually had to use the wall-mounted TV for additional lighting. This cabin is very close to the Big Chalet. The difference between the two when booking wasn’t as clear as I thought it should be. My original intention was to rent the Big Chalet and found out later it was the Little Chalet. Oh well, my mistake. The hot tub was not working when we arrived but the owner made the extra effort to repair it into the wee hours of the morning! It was very pleasant but not as private as I had hoped. All the appliances were practically new and worked well. The main bedroom is upstairs but a bit of a challenge to get into the bed due to the closeness to the ceiling. One must climb over the footboard to get in bed. The stairway is narrow; another challenge for seniors, but manageable. All told it was satisfactory. Suggestions: Some repairs to the deck are needed. Add a couple lamps on the main floor. Lastly, a nice cushioned chair for the upstairs bedroom would be nice. I would recommend the Little Chalet to younger friends with no hesitation, but caution older folk to beware of the minor drawbacks I listed above.

The cabin was in a nice location, 30 minutes away from west yellowstone. It's nice for sleeping, not much else. Very small but we spent most of our time out and about. Bring your own coffee cups

It was a good location and very cute on the inside. Convenient drive to West Yellowstone. The only negative the bed was not comfortable.

Our Little Chalet was exactly that - but so much more. We had everything we needed there - all in a very efficient set-up. It is adorable inside. We loved being able to cook our meals - thus saving us money. The kitchen had it all - dishwasher, toaster/oven, microwave, plus all the pots and pans, etc. you need. The outdoor grill was great to have, too. The sleeping situation worked out perfectly for our family of 4. The Chalet is in a beautiful area and so it was really the perfect get-away. We all loved it!

We wanted to get out of the touristy areas of yellowstone, but still be close to it and the Little Chalet was the perfect location. The cabin was cozy and perfect for us two. We loved the scenery and everything this cabin had to offer!

Fly fishing the world famous Henry’s Fork is our favorite thing to do and it was a short drive from the cabin. There are many other amazing fisheries within a very short drive. The cabin was very comfortable and it was supplied with everything we needed. The jacuzzi was very nice after being out all day hiking and fishing. I would definitely recommend staying here.
