Cozy Cabin,heated floors on New River ... Pets Welcome

This cabin is located on a still portion of the New River well above Claytor Lake in Virginia. The property had kayaks, outdoor charcoal grilling and is just across the river from miles of the New River biking trail. The cabin is well maintained, built with quality and full of amenities. During our short stay we saw deer grazing, eagles soaring over the river hoping for a catch and a muskie working the river's edge feeding on small fish in the early morning. Much of the New was hard hit with Helena in 2024 but this property shows no impact one year later.

The property is beautful with great views. It is clean and quiet.

Lovely yard and quiet. The cabin was well supplied and clean. Please inform guests they must bring water for coffee, ice cubes and drinking. Plus would be good to know the grill is charcoal to pack appropriately. The Deep tub could use a handle for safe entry. We chose this vacation rental due to a little fishing dock on site so my partner could fish while I biked NYT. However the wooden ramp was over 45 degree incline so not safe to get down to the dock.

The property is beautiful, and so is the cabin! The cabin was stocked with anything you needed to be a home away from home, and had luxury features such as heated floors in the bathroom, a jet tub, dim switches on every light, etc. everything was very clean and well maintained.

Amazing peaceful getaway. We had a really good time. Enjoyed some river fishing and cooking out as well. Will definitely return.

Fireflies is a wonderful home on a beautiful property. Our hosts could not have been more hospitable. Everything we needed was provided, and beyond. We hope to return to this property again, and highly recommend it.

If I could rate this house 4-1/2, I would. It was a very nice place for me, my wife, and my dog. The owners live on the property, but never intruded. The yard is huge and the New River is amazing. The only complaint I have is that the property owners required our dog to be kept on the outside porch while we were gone to VA Tech's graduation. It was 35 degrees when we left him early in the morning and he was stuck on the porch for 7 hours. Otherwise, this was a great place to stay!

We had a wonderful stay! The cabin was well equipped with everything we needed for a nice couple of relaxing nights! Will definitely be back!

Very nice cabin. Better than the description and pictures. Clean and a lot of nice little touches such as charcoal for the grill.

This was the perfect weekend getaway. Privacy, peace and quite. The cabin was very nice and super clean. I loved sitting on the back porch and fishing off the dock. The host left us some pumpkin, nut muffins that were to die for. I would absolutely recommend this to friends.

Everything was perfect! All of the little touches make it feel like home as soon as you walk in. The porch is amazing and my go-to spot to relax. We enjoyed fishing on the new dock and watching the baby deer in the yard. This was our 2nd time staying here and we can't wait to come back again!

Quiet and peaceful. Beautiful scenery. A wonderful experience.

Awesome place to just get away to . . . only negative is the steep hill to climb and that the dock didn't have a ladder. Other than that nothing but praise for cleanliness and location. Owners were super . . . would recommend to my family and friends.

Wonderful peace of heaven!!! Great cabin with access to the New River with dock. Enjoyed everything about this cabin. Everything you need for sure in the kitchen and super clean. Enjoyed the deer in the yard, fishing, kayaking and just relaxing. Don't hesitate, just book it!

Absolutely wonderful. So peaceful and quiet. The house was very clean and well stocked.

The property was excellent. It meet every one of our expectations. In the morning the sounds of the birds woke us up, and at night the fireflies said good night. The property is 1/2 way from Philadelphia to where my children live between Nashville, Savannah, and Chattanooga. Can’t wait to come back.

We stayed for 2 night to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary and fell in love with the property. It was so serene and beautiful that we felt more relaxed than we had in ages. We will definitely be back!

Perfect place to get away for my birthday. Spent most of the time on the river but the cabin was a perfect place to relax after a day of adventuring. Loved the windows that gave a beautiful view of the river and having kayaks provided for river use was the icing on the cake! 10/10 would stay here again!

Beautiful property, comfortable and well appointed cabin right on the New river. Fishing, kayaks, wonderful porches for sipping coffee while the birds serenade you. Wonderful jetted tub, fire pit, and grill make it easy to relax at this fabulous cabin. Very responsive hosts make sure you have everything you need for a special getaway. We thoroughly enjoyed celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary here, and will certainly be back

My wife and I were celebrating 31 years of marriage. The cabin was very nice and very thoughtfully stocked with all the amenities you might need. We brought our Labrador with us. There was lots of space for him to run. The view was outstanding. It was very private and relaxing. We had a great time and we would definitely recommend the cabin to friends Joe & Laure

Well appointed cabin and beautiful property.

I had a 2 night stay with my dog at this property. I needed an opportunity to kind of disconnect and recharge. The property is so well maintained. I had a special request that the owners were happy to accommodate. I would absolutely stay here again.

Stayed at this property for a romantic Valentines weekend. This cabin is beautiful inside and outside. The host was very accommodating and hospitable. We plan to return!

2nd visit to Fireflies, both times to celebrate a wedding anniversary. Dog walks on the New River Trail and visited a couple nearby vineyards. This made for a relaxing weekend. Like last year, the deer are entertaining to watch and they nearly come onto the back porch.

Our second time at this property was just as good as the first! Everything, including the property was very clean and well kept. The river and the trees were absolutely beautiful in the fall. Once again, we will be back!

We really enjoyed our stay and the hosts were very helpful and kind! House has all amenities you could possibly need and was very clean.

We were traveling north from NC in order to get away from tornado watches/warnings and an already flooded home... our hosts were incredible and so very accommodating. Comfortable, quiet, relaxing and beautiful. We had our 13 yr old daughter and our sweet but big puppy along for the adventure.

The cabin and property were beautiful. We really enjoyed the porches with our dog Mavis.
