Stayed Aug 29, 2025The cottage was in a nice, quiet neighborhood surrounded by trees. This was a nice backdrop for the back porch enjoyment. The cottage is very quaint for sure and the fireplace came in very handy on the quite cool evenings. The kitchen utensils need attention, other than that it is quite well equipped, except lacking a Lobster Pot, which in Maine is nearly unforgiveable! LOL.I was looking forward to using the, what looks like a lovely old tub, but in reality was a tub that needs refinishing, I was not able to have a bath. We were disconcerted to find no window coverings in the bathroom or bedroom. We took to covering the bathroom windows with the dish towels from the kitchen, carefully closing them in the hooked window frames. The bed was way too soft for our comfort, so if you like a firm bed be aware of that. I have to mention, for my sister the cobwebs from the beautiful open wood ceilings! The glass, especially the large window near the dining table could have been cleaner, which is expected, especially when being charged a cleaning fee. We went there for a nice quiet long weekend and that is what we got. It was a nice stay all in all. Steve was responsive and assisted when our GPS was not behaving.

Stayed Jul 24, 2025Our stay at the cabin was relaxing and had everything we needed. Beds are super comfy, AC kept the temperature comfortable. Enjoyed the fire pit, gas grill and outdoor seating on back deck. Cabin full of history and character and was very unique. Rebecca made sure we had everything we needed. Beach chairs, toys, bodyboards, cooler, towels. She was extremely responsive, accomodatimg, friendly and helpful. Easy from start to finish. Walk to Perkins Cove convenient. Good location, quick drive to beach. Left feeling relaxed and smiling.

Stayed May 17, 2024I spent the weekend at this cabin alone to have some peace and quiet and see the coast of Maine. The hosts were very welcoming and available for anything I needed. The real wood fireplaces provided a campfire and cozy atmosphere. The location was very walkable to Ogunquit and I enjoyed the restaurant recommendations. I loved the quiet mornings watching the wildlife and sipping my coffee. It was a great weekend and I enjoyed this treasure in the woods.

Stayed Aug 24, 2023We had the pleasure of staying at a cabin called Dum Breck for a long weekend. Rebecca and Steve made sure we had all the supplies we needed, including paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo and conditioner, and waters in the fridge. They told me that we just had to provide for our food and clothes and they pretty much had everything else and they were right. They also had some nice welcome gifts! The cabin was very clean with new appliances, comfy mattresses, and nice linens. The decor is rustic, but classy. If there wasn't a huge flat screen TV in the living room, you would feel like you stepped back in time to a simpler and quieter age. It was a bit chilly on the day we arrived and if I hadn't been so tired I would have definitely tried having a fire in the fireplace. The farm table could easily sit a large group and there are plenty of antique dishes to have quite the dinner party. The master bedroom also had a working fireplace (though again for pure laziness I did not try it out), and the girls enjoyed their own space in bunk room upstairs. There is a beautiful claw foot tub in the smallish bathroom, but it works! We mostly left the car at home; its a quick walk to Perkins Cove and maybe just a mile or so to Ogunquit. There is a nice back porch with a table overlooking the woods. When we did go to the beach we were able to take the beach chairs, cooler and umbrella that Steve and Rebecca provided. We plan to book this adorable and affordable cabin again next year!
