This was a big hit with my kids as they loved the loft and the spiral stairs to get to it. I appreciated hiw thoughtfully furnished everything was. The kitchen had all of the furnishings necessary to prepare a large breakfast. The hosts were excellent at communicating, and they cleanly strive to show hospitality. We will stay here again. The gists ate excellent st communication

Our cabin host was excellent, on top of communications and provided many unexpected amenities in the cabin. Due to recent ongoing wildfires in the area, we were unsure about our stay, Sarah offered us a full refund on multiple occasions, due to the unexpected ongoing situation. We decided to wait it out and followed local first responder organizations on social media to keep up to date. We decided to commit to our original plans and first responders did an excellent job of containment. It also helped that our hosts were volunteer firefighters as well. We had a great time at Rushmore, Devil's Tower, an ATV adventure through Custer State Park, out of Keystone and more throughout the local area. We plan to come back when more local businesses are open during their busy season to see and do more. Our trip was fun, enjoyable, and relaxing during these times of uncertainty and look forward to visiting again when things are more back to normal. We couldn't ask for a better host and I would highly recommend to anyone!

There is no better place to stay in The Black Hills. Close to everything but far enough away that you have peace and quiet. Sarah was fantastic and even brought me fresh farm eggs!!!! The cabins are perfect with everything you could possibly need. The smallest detail is not overlooked!!!! Highly Recommend and I will definitely be back!!

The cabin was quaint and clean! We didn’t spend a ton of time in the cabin or on site as we went out to do “tourist trap activities” with the kids, but it was comfortable when we did return to the cabin for meals and sleep. My kids (ages 15m and nearly 3yr) had a blast in the loft! The stairs were a tad narrow, but otherwise we had no issues. 3 The highlight of our time at the cabin was each morning we looked out the window to see a small herd of goats in the driveway! That was exciting for both the kids and us parents. lol! They were fairly tame and allowed the kids to pet them while they grazed. If we ever need to rent a cabin in the Hills again we will try to get a reservation here!

The cabin was very clean and comfortable! It was great to be able to watch tv in the evening! To no fault of the owner, we had unwanted visitors such as stink bugs and flies inside the cabin! We also enjoyed seeing the goats come to visit us. Had problem checking in as Vrbo sent us emai stating owner had a message but Vrbo app showed no message. We got owner’s number from a neighbor next to our cabin!

This was our first time staying at Campfire Cabins and we won’t stay anywhere else for future Black Hills trips. The cabin was perfect for our family of four and was reasonably close to everything we did during our stay, from Wonderland Cave near Strugis to Custer State Park to Bear Country by Keyatone. The cabin hosts thought of everything we needed at the cabin, especially in the kitchenette. Very happy with our experience. Thank you!

We rode our motorcycles from New Mexico to experience the Black Hills during the annual Sturgis rally. This location is perfect and centrally located for exploring all of the routes and loops without being in town. Kitchen was perfect for cooking dinners and well stocked with the basics. Lots of other great touches - snacks, toiletries, etc. Clean, quiet and loved watching the goats, chickens, ducks, turkeys, rabbits and more. Don’t let the construction scare you away - wonderful hosts and we highly recommend.

What an amazing experience we had during our stay! Even with the road construction and closure, we were able to experience the area in a whole new light! But no matter what adventure we were going on, what hike or lake we were by, my 8 year old would only ask “when are we going back to the cabin?!” … the homey feeling the cabin provided plus the joy of the animals outside made it her favorite thing about our trip! Thank you for such a wonderful trip!

My husband and I, and our two children, loved this property and cabin! It's a quiet location in the country of the Black Hills, and very peaceful. There were goats the kids could pet as well as a few cats. They had fun trying to catch the pet bunnies but never succeeded! We wish we would have had more time here! The cabin was very clean and cozy, and the kitchen was very well stocked with supplies. Would highly recommend this property for anyone that doesn't want to stay in town and wants the peace and serenity that this location has to offer.

By far the best VRBO we have stayed at. Everything was perfect. The cabin is centrally located, quiet, and cozy. Sarah was very attentive and helpful. 3 days in South Dakota wasn’t long enough. The best sleep I’ve had in years. If I could give 10/10 I would.
