Welcome to Timber Haven! This custom-built log cabin, nestled in the Blue Ridge Foothills, is located within the gated community of Riverbend in Lake Lure, NC. Our spacious 3,300 sq ft 3 story home allows plenty of room for our guests to spread out and enjoy laidback cabin living. Snuggle up by the gas fireplace in the 2-story great room, kick back under the stars by the fire pit, or take a hike on our 1/4 mile trail to a beautiful private spot on the Broad River!

Able to comfortably accommodate 8-10 guests, this cabin has 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths, along with a loft for additional sleeping space. The first-floor master bedroom features a king bed w/ memory foam Casper mattress, a walk-in closet and jacuzzi tub. Additionally, there is a second bedroom w/ two twin beds, a full bath and washer/dryer on this main level. Upstairs there are 2 additional bedrooms, one w/ a queen bed & office area and the other w/ a queen bed & a twin. Also on the second floor is a full bath and a sleeping loft w/ pull-out couch (converts to a full bed). Additionally, there is a Pack N’ Play and high chair for our littlest visitors.

The cabin has a well equipped kitchen and a deck that spans the full length of the house with a gas grill. You’ll find all that you need for serving up family favorites and grilling out.

The basement is outfitted for entertainment with a flat screen TV, Foosball table, and dart board, along with a half-bath. You'll also find boardgames, a hammock and corn hole. Large River Tubes and a Stand Up Paddle Board will provide endless entertainment on the water!

In addition to the cabin, we also own another 6.5 adjacent acres spanning from the mountain ridge down to the Broad River. Our guests are welcome to take the 1/4 mile trail starting in the back yard of the cabin and hike down to a lovely secluded spot on the river.

Within Riverbend guests have access to two lakes (Big Mirror Lake and Little Mirror Lake), a private beach w/ picnic areas, pavilion and barbecue pits. The Broad River runs directly through our little community and is perfect for fishing, hiking or kayaking. Enjoy the private waterfall or float in a tube to the 'Ole Swimming Hole'.

Looking to explore outside of Riverbend Lake Lure Beach is just 10 minutes away, complete w/ water slides and a splash pad! The main marina offers boat rentals, daily tours and dinner cruises. River tubing, zip-lining, gem-mining, horseback riding, golfing and rock climbing are all within a short distance of the house. Hike Chimney Rock State Park for a breathtaking view or meander around the charming little town of Chimney Rock, only 10 minutes away. For any grocery needs, Ingles Market is located just minutes from the house. Hendersonville and Asheville are both an easy 45 minute drive.

The cabin is located off of a mountainous gravel road. Although it is only a short distance from the entrance gate and 4WD is not required, it could be helpful during inclement weather or if guests are not accustomed to driving in the mountains.

PET POLICY: Your four-legged fur baby is welcome! We have a 2 dog limit (any size). There is a $50 fee per pet. Damages would incur an extra fee. We ask that your dog is well behaved, flea-treated and stays OFF OF ALL FURNITURE/BEDS.

The cabin was able to sleep many people but was still cozy. The kitchen was excellent for cooking with everything needed. Our family loved spending Christmas all together and this gave the family time that was needed. Although, the river trail was a bit misleading as it was farther than expected than the pictures showed and there was no firewood stocked for our stay and it took a couple days to get the propane hooked up.

This is just FYI, not 5 bedrooms as advertised on VRBO. I figured that out by the pics. The house was awesome, fully equipped for big groups and beautifully decorated for the holidays. The mountainous location was exactly what we were looking for. The hosts were very accommodating. Highly recommend.

The house was very convenient to all Lake Lure and beyond. Very private setting and the house was roomy, comfy and a very well stocked kitchen with any appliance you would need. We appreciated the owners quick response time with our questions.

But those woods on Timber Haven’s private trail empty you out onto the gently flowing Broad River splashed with sunshine and dappled shade. A beautiful location with adirondack chairs and fish if you prefer a challenge. The trail has steep spots with rocks and a stream that does a crossover. Take your time and pause for rest on the return and reasonably good mobility will get you there and back. I know two 76 year olds who made it okay. Everything about the house is as the hosts describe so I won’t bore you with repetition. However, it is the perfect vacation mountain home with all the expected amenities and more. The home has been lived in by real people and we did not have to worry about our sometimes exuberant teens and an 8 year old. The location was ideal and was close to the entrance/exits in the private Riverbend community within Lake Lure. It is a quick drive to downtown Lake Lure and Chimney Rock with numerous restaurants, a great Engles grocery, and water water everywhere with a wide variety of outdoor activities. Or just sit on the porch and rock with your favorite beverage and someone with whom you enjoy talking, a great cure for anxiety.

My family had a great long weekend stay at the cabin. Everything is very well stocked, and labeled, so there’s no difficulty putting dishes away or finding which light switch you need. The cabin was very clean, and we had great communication with the owners - even got to meet them! There is plenty of space - all 8 of us could watch TV and eat together. We enjoyed playing foosball, but there were not enough darts for a real game. The hike to the river was a little steep on the way back up, but totally worth it. The river and the rocks and the chairs are just perfect. We took the paddleboard across the street to the lake on the other side of the neighborhood of Riverbend. The beach area is maintained, had shade, and a small pavilion (up the steps) to tables and restrooms. We had a great time taking turns paddle boarding. We would love to come back when the weather is cooler to enjoy the fire pit and a less sweaty trail hike to the river! The internet is good but the binder in the cabin had better info on local restaurants and activities, thank you for having that available!

Cabin is stocked, clean and spacious. Great communication by the hosts. Tucked away while being close enough to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. Enjpyed the winery and brewery and the boat tour of the lake. Plenty of activities for the teenagers as well. Thanks for sharing this beautiful property with us!

We had our three kids and their spouses and one infant on this trip, and there was ample room. The house is located in Lake Lure which is a small town about 50 minutes to 1 hour from Asheville. We rented a pontoon boat for the day on lake lure which I highly recommend. Not too many restaurant choices close by, but we like to cook in the evenings so it was fine. Dirt road leading to the house just FYI. The home was comfortable and the basement was our evening hangout spot for board games. We had an excellent time hiking and enjoying the surrounding area.
