One late afternoon, just as we were closing for the day, we noticed a small skinny all black cat wandering aimlessly. After realizing that this wasn’t the first time that this sad looking creature had been lurking in the Shadows, Buck decided that it was time this animal had a home. With that he was rescued, doctored, bathed, fed and given a name. Shadow was with us just a short while but left a lasting impression. Stayed Jan 24, 2025We really enjoyed our stay at Lydia. We felt you dealt with the power outage quickly and effectively. We were grateful for that - and the clean and welcoming cabin. The only suggestion I have is a grab bar by the toilet as it is very low. We enjoyed the food at the lodge and the staff were very kind and helpful.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We stayed two nights for a cute, rustic wedding weekend. Cabin was so cute and peaceful. We enjoyed the hot tub and fireplace. Bed was creaky and a bit uncomfortable, but it had everything you need for a fun little getaway. Just make sure you bring all necessities, i.e., hand soap, toiletries, etc. as there isn't anything around for miles. We would definitely return!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969I wanted to get away from it all for a little bit, and this cabin definitely felt right. I went for the 4th of July weekend, so the trees were full preventing you from really seeing any of the other cabins, but I'm sure you could in winter. The cabin itself was perfect, all you need is yourself and food, although Bearrr Appétit is lovely with great views of the mountains, and good food, decently priced as well. I highly recommend The Shadows.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The best word to describe our stay is “perfect!” We were so pleased to arrive and find everything just as great as the pictures. Check in (and out) was so easy, the hot tub was clean, the cabin was clean and comfortable and the view was beautiful! We enjoyed every bit of our stay and will definitely be returning.
